I had the pleasure of working in the RAF with this gentleman and he became a very good friend. Visited me in Swansea for a big night out and ended up sleeping in his car!! He helped me discover West Ham and the benefits of having a drinks cabinet hidden in your wardrobe!!
Many fond memories of working with Simon and I wish him the best of luck in the Philippines. Good luck 👍👍

just came back from Thailand .. first time in 20 years .. i spend 4 months a year in the Philippines .. everything in Thailand is better .. the differences are notable .. you can't deny them .. as soon as you arrive at the airport in Bangkok you're hit smack in the face with the 'better' aspect .. the Philippine people are wonderful tho and the English is a definite huge bonus + it's definitely easier for older men to find much younger women (outside the p4p scene) to date as well

That's your opinion... others have different opinions...I would not call you a Philippine specialist after 4 months spending in the country but it's okay that you prefer another country.

I would say Philippines is better than Thailand in most respects. Many places in Philippines a clear winner over Thailand such as Siargao. Momentum of development is with Philippines and will rise a lot faster to overtake Thailand in next 5 years. 110 million English speakers vs 60 million Thais equals momentum with Ph, as it rises to number one again in Asia as it was up until the 1970’s. Philippines is the front and center of global geopolitics again and getting the infrastructure and funding Thailand won’t get. Philippines carried Asia in World War Two so deserves all the help they can get, not Thailand.

yes it is my opinion and i expressed it .. just as you expressed yours .. isn't free speech wonderful? and you need to read comments a bit more carefully .. i wrote:'ii spend 4 months a year in the Philippines' .. that = NOT only 4 months .. ive been coming to the Philippines for many years so i have much experience to compare with .. anyhoo as said .. the Filipino people are wonderful .. they absolutely make the Philippines a lovely place to live 💕

Well said. Thailand has a nicer lifestyle, but the serious dating scene is not that great. You go to the Philippines for the people and they have the BEST dating scene in the world! I'm sure everyone will find their life mate to settle down with and start a family in the Philippines.

I’m currently in Thailand because I believe it’s easier for me personally to live on a budget here.
While I enjoy the Philippines, I found it to be more expensive to find a nice place to live. I also found the activities such as island hopping to be more expensive than similar experiences in Thailand.
Still, I’ll happily visit the Philippines again in the future.

Mark's story about the tooth extraction under hypnosis happens here in the Phil countryside. It's like you have to believe so that it will be painless and bloodless. They will use the tip of the ballpen. I just don't know if its hygienic. It is offered by a religious sect and they will ask for a donation in exchange for their service.

Thailand has way better food, infrastructure, WiFi / 5G, interior design, luxury, way less poverty.

I keep reading on here the Thailand has better food that PI. I don't know where they are getting this from. Thai food is good but between Thai food and Filipino food; if I had to eat one every day for sure it would be Filipino food. Keep in mind there is so much more to Filipino food than what you can find at most restaurants. There are regional favorites. The ones saying this probably haven’t really experienced real Filipino food. Additionally, there are certain (undiscovered) parts of the Philippines that most foreigners have never been to that are really underrated. And they speak English too.

Thai cuisine has an international reputation. You'll literally find Thai restaurants around the world. Don't think the same can be said about Filipino cuisine unless maybe in an enclave.

What did you not like about it? Just curious. I agree, that you mostly see the success stories on TH-cam and social media in general. Most people only share the best of what happens to them and don't talk much or at all about the downsides.
I personally found the Philippines to be too noisy in general. I found it difficult to get peace and quiet unless going to a particularly remote area. These remote areas had limited conveniences. I live in Thailand.

    • @jerrymylove1754

@@EasternDreamer615 everything about it I disliked. I have been to seventy countries and the Philippines is at the bottom of that list for me. I have been to war zones and much more dangerous places in Latin America. They are still better than the Philippines.
Some of the most dishonest, hateful, racist , and xenophobic people I ever encountered. The infrastructure is way outdated. It needs to be upgraded badly. The food sucks and is unhealthy. The service is abysmal even though you have like 25 people working in a coffee shop with no one in it. It’s a filthy, chaotic, dirty dump that has nothing or unique about it. Just getting a cup of coffee and a slice of pizza in major cities is a monumental task. Taxi drivers rip you off all the time and especially at the airport. I could literally go on for hours. I finally left and went to Malaysia and almost fell over on how much better it is. The only thing the Philippines has is it’s easier to date beautiful women and they kinda sorta speak English. Other than that it’s not worth it in my opinion.
