- Shooting Expired Film on the Gold Coast Part 2
Last weekend I shot 2 rolls of expired 35mm film in 30 minutes! In this second video, check out the results of 2009 AgfaFoto Vista 100, made in Italy by Ferrania.
I used one of my favourite film cameras for this roll, my Minolta TC-1. I thought this roll would not turn out very well, so I was quite excited with the results!
If you haven't already, check out part 1 with Fuji Industrial 100 on the Contax G1: • Expired Fujicolor 100 ...

Lovely colors from that roll of expired Agfa Vista. Especially liked the photo at 4:02 with its soft colors and old-fashioned clothesline in the foreground and modern building in the background. Sad day for me when Agfa Vista was no more, as it was one of my favorite films (still is, really).
Thanks so much Susan! I love the old clotheslines 😊 yes I hope one day we get more and better European colour film to give us a decent alternative to Kodak and Fujifilm!
Surprisingly good results for such a long time expired film. Nice 👍🏻
Yes I was very surprised! Thanks for watching Otto 😊🙏
Wow, I didn't know about the big film data base. That's cool!
Yes I think I heard about it on a podcast ! It’s not definitive but it’s pretty good!
Good old Agfa Vista, they used to sell that in the UK in Poundlands for £1, well they sold everything for a pound. More Hills hoist line posts 👍My mum and dad had one of those from the early 70's up to 2015, I had to dig it up and refit it in their new house when they moved. It lasted well despite me and my brothers using it as a swing. You don't see them at all here in the UK.
Yes! When I was in the uk in 2017 and 2019 I went looking for poundland vista but it had long since gone! Oh wow great to hear you moved the hills host! That’s dedication 👏 a few houses near me have been demolished, I was going to ask if I could have the hills hoist but I have no way of transporting it 😂
Nice shots - and the colors look beautiful.
Agfa Vista films were always a good option, when I was young. Cheaper than Kodak and most other color negative films for sale at the super market but still with very nice results.
I found some Agfa Vista 400 forgotten in a cupboard the last time I moved. The apartment was small and very warm during summer time (it was not a nice place to live, but it was all I could afford at the time), so the film is probably ruined, but I put it in the fridge, and perhaps I will try using it some day, if the timing is right.
Thanks so much NP! Ooo nice, the vista 400 will hopefully shoot well! I have some but it’s the Japanese version 😊
Eventually, Ferrania got the color film down without that strange red issue that plagued them for years and these roll held up really nice. Can't wait to see how the others turn out without compensation.
Thanks Nicholas! Really love your insight into Ferrania, what was the red issue? Thanks for watching 😊😔
@@MattLovesCameras Though 3M/Ferrania/Dynachrome and Kodak films are known for fading red when hey are not the Kodachrome type, 3M films had an issue with the film having too much redness after being processed or going red not too long after being developed apparently, but it was a slow enough thing that they did little to nothing about it for years. That is why older ferrania Color and the like, even when the company switched to Kodak developers, are few and far between on the net, et al.
I bought Walgreens Studio 35 film expired in 2005 and it's made by Agfa in Germany. However when I developed it, it didn't look anything like Agfa Vista.
Ah that's a shame... what did the photos look like? Thanks for watching 😊
It’s fine, I didn’t mind the colors actually. They looked kinda warm, without any purple tint. Rather unique I would say.
