It was the later part of 1965 or the early part of 1966 when my 7th & 8th grade boys choir performed this song. I was in 8th grade. Despite the amount of time that has passed I still remember parts of the piece. Yes, music is timeless.

I have watched about 12 flash mob performances this evening and this is by FAR the most beautiful one I've heard. As others have mentioned the acoustics of this venue absolutely does justice to the professionalism of this choir. Outstanding.
Please, Where do you live that you sang this at school? Do you know how blessed you are. Here in CA I had no choices and could not offer ( was not allowed to)any Christmas Carols to elementary. Maybe it is easier to teach real music in High school choirs? So I have been told. One local choir of that age was teaching very sleazy music to their choir and the man lets every one know he was at Julliard for a spell. but I digress, sorry. This is a glorious piece. Choral music has suffered under the political stuff.

I had a superb music teacher. We had double choir lessons once a week. It was a long time ago in Liverpool England. Nowadays even some of the best schools do not teach classical music. We sang plain chant even.

This is first peace of master Mozart music I was taught to sing by my wonderful.music teacher when I was about 12 or 13! He was a fan of the fan of Master Mozart music just as he taught me to love and appreciate it too, not just his music but other composers of classical music

This is so beautiful and awe inspiring music of Mozart. It tugs at the very core of the heart and soul of man because deep down we know we belong to God and our soul knows it despite whether we believe or not in God. I'm Catholic, and this piece of music speaks so deeply in my soul and makes it long for heaven.
