- The Borneo Orchids Expedition focuses on visiting four locations to explore Borneo’s amazing diversity of orchids; the Bako National Park (home to lowland heathforest orchids), Mount Kinabalu (for highland and ultrahighland orchids), Mulu National Park (for lowland rainforest, limestone growing and highland orchids) and Mount Trus Madi (for spectacular mossy cloud forests dripping with highland orchids).
Although orchids are central to this expedition, the itinerary is balanced with many of Borneo’s other wildlife highlights, including a plethora of carnivorous pitcher plants, proboscis monkeys, vast caves, canoe trips through lowland rainforest and, with luck, open Rafflesia and Amorphophallus blooms.

So happy to know the indigenous orchids are growing freely without being stripped off their habitats. Good conservation of all wonderfully beautiful and useful plants. A veritable paradise on earth in tribute to God's bounty.
Hi, this video is really cool I live in Miami, and I grow orchids and my favorite is the the Rothschild paph blooms every time around winter but not as great as the ones I have won awards, in the hybrids are really nice, thank you for this video it's cool I really enjoy it thank you

@@ben10ben17 The title of the video is misleading, it should be called Malaysia Orchids Expedition, because most of us when we hear the word "Borneo" will think the island is in Indonesia.
Approximately 73% of the Borneo island is Indonesian territory. In the north, the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak make up about 26% of the island. The sovereign state of Brunei, located on the north coast, comprises about 1% of Borneo's land area.
It is the only island in the world to be politically administered by three countries at a time LOL.
Im from this area. Mount kinabalu is only 3 hours drive. While i often not appreciate my state enough, everytime i pass gunung kinabalu, i always long for a property there. Im not ashamed to admit my honeymoon i only spent 4 days on ranau and kundasang. I dont evwn want to go anywhere else. The perks of living here is i dont need to spend lots of money for holidays. The only thing is i need to collect enough money to buy good durians and buy plants that my cute wife wants. Hahah

What airport would you need to land in to be close to these parks?
The nearest airport you can find is Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) which is located at Kota Kinabalu town. It takes around 2-3 hrs drive to get to Mount Kinabalu which located in Ranau. You welcome!
