I told my mother long before she left this world to sell her properties and go and enjoy life and 13 years after her death it’s still in court dealing with ungrateful greedy people and unfortunately I can’t walk away from it if I could because of others who handled her estate.
It sounded like she died quite suddenly, which might suggest that she didn't have any time to make a will (even in old age some people still don't take care of their affairs) and the nasty dad took advantage of that.

I disagree with JJ when she says the way children turn out is totally the responsibility of the parents. Definitely parents are responsible for a lot, but there are great people raised by crappy parents and there are horrible people raised by regular parents.
