The "double siege" (as Drew calls it) was peculiarly Roman thing: Agrigentum (262) and the siege of Alesia (52 BC) versus Vercingetorix's Gauls, with Julius Caesar commanding the Romans. It probably has to do with the Roman propensity for civil and military engineering. Their instinct was, when in doubt, build walls, moats, aqueducts, sewers, roads, heated floors, lead pipes ... If you're besieging a town, wall it in. If a relief force arrives to break your siege, build another wall, but facing outwards. Romans being Romans.

    The story goes like this
"One day a she-wolf saved a young boy from his burning village. She cared for the boy and nurtured him back to health. Then the boy impregnated the she-wolf, had half-wolf half-human children and one of them was a god for some reason and he started the Ashina tribe"

Carthage is Rome's name for the city. The locals called it:
      Qart Hadasht, New City,
founded by the Queen Dido, whose heart was broken by Aenas, a prince of Troy, who fled that city's destruction to found the city of Alba Longa which eventually would become part of Rome and where the Ceasar family began.
