    Nice speeds. I am on a 26" 72V 3000W Cyclone gas generator ebike hybrid with road cruiser tires, a 72V 16aH (Chinese domestic cells), 44T front/back 2nd gear. My bike is probably a bit heavier than yours due to the generator hybrid concept (100lbs) but my top speed is 41-42mph too. Cyclone is the most price efficient motor for the speed that you get. I think we need 5kW to get to 50s.

    Thank you lots for this vid! My Cyclone 3000 watt mid drive is on a CX (cyclo cross) frame with 700c x 25c Gatorskins (110psiI), but mine is only 52 volts with a 26ah battery. Never tried the maximum 72 volts so your vid is letting me experience that vicariously! It was revealing low pressure knobbies resulted in 42 mph on the road, but yet you reached 40 mph on the dirt. I'm guessing the tires and low pressure was a limiting factor in terms of top speed. I'm guessing if you were running 700 x 25c Gatorskins at 100psi (like me), you'd likely see around 45-47 mph on the road (maybe tucked in a bit?). I wonder if you added more tire pressure (e,g, 45 psi, 50 psi, 55 psi or 60 psi - up to whatever is the max pressure on the tire)?
    FYI, my 52 volt setup maxes out at 38 mph. Judging by your vid, I'm guessing the acceleration of my bike is about 80-85% of your 72 volt setup. (i.e. with the Cyclone's monster torque, we have no problem keeping up with cars from a red light in city stop/go traffic from 0 - 35 mph. Basically, it's like having a 90cc motorcycle from 0-35 mph.

      Honestly I don't know I mean the front sprocket is 44 teeth the rear in first gear is 32 or 34 it's just a standard 7-speed I would think you'd be okay with whatever my third gear is but that's just guessing it has a lot of power anyways but big hills you're obviously going to drop in speed and put more pressure on the motor

    • @mightfight
      @mightfight  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is a cyclone 3000w mid drive... Problem is the controller is a 40A continuous at 72v.... I mean its alittle over 3kw when at full charge (84v minus voltage sag...). Need more amps to go faster tbh but the cyclone gets to hot at current setup as it is... After gear 4 it really doesn't have the amps to get the motor RPM up and it just dogs it down with really no speed increase in 5th-7th gear... I should change the gearing however based off this 1st gear is 30 ish mph so that alone is probably heating the motor up more peak amps are probably around 80 ish with this controller... It's basic not junk junk but no where near top of the line.

I did however upgrade to an 80 amp peak/40 amps continuous version of the controller. Im running 60v only but it seriously hauls ass, much more than before. Btw ur gearing seems to tall. Try a small chainring up front. My bike only does 20 tops in first gear I have a 32 tooth front sprocket and the acceleration and torque is insane.

      Pedaling adds nothing at these speeds

    • @rwo6211
      @rwo6211 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I'm a year late... Luna's Cyclone 3000w mid kit accessories includes a PAS magnetic sensor at crank for about $25, but since there's no screen display to select different levels of PAS, once the sensor engages, it turns the motor full power. On the Cyclone that means suicide! On the Cyclone, PAS means holding the throttle steady as just below desired speed and pedaling back up to desired speed. You can see the effect of the pedal assist on the voltage readout next to the throttle. I'm running 52v with a 21ah battery. Top speed is 38mph on level ground. Always wanted to know how 72v will work and this vid tells me.

    • @TheGrayWolf81
      @TheGrayWolf81 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can confirm the cadence based PAS is useless with the stock controller. Luna sells it for an additional $12 (which I won't get back). Pedaling backwards also engages the PAS. It's suicide. Stick to the throttle unless you get a programmable controller or CycleAnalyst.

    • @FarmerFpv
      @FarmerFpv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Dude, there are so many factors going on. I'm sure he is not using a high-output battery and the cyclone kits is a cheap entry-level kit, 3000w is not much. you need 8000w to hit 50 mph on 72v with a hub motor. 24kw or 24,000 watts only does 73 mph with duel motors. You must know nothing about electric bikes if you are shocked about a cheap mid-drive unit only going 40 mph which is actually pretty fast for the price. If you want to go over 50mph expect to pay close to 1200 dollars for the battery alone. nothing shocking here if you know about e-bikes.

    get smooth tires. you will hit 55 to 60. lock your suspension on paved roads top off your tire pressure you will be going fast as hell. but wear eye and foot protection. I lost my left pinky on a 25mph motorcycle accident,. i was dragged under a truck that lost its breaks, if i didnt have boots gloves and helmet i would have lost my left foot left hand and blind today. i know this wont happen to you. but think of it this way. whats protection do you have in any 2 wheel vehicle? the fastest we can run is about 35mph on foot? meaning anything faster than that will often break bones since we were never meant to travel at such speeds without armor. as a bike your visibility is hindered with a helmet and your small foot print. if something bigger and faster were to come at you and not see you. all we have to protect ourselves at that point is called regret. have fun!

      @@mightfight yeah mine is exactly 10% off so 30mph on screen is 27mph on gps. Is the bbshd worth it? Bbshd kit costs about double the price of a hub motor kit. I love the fact that with the bbshd I ll get some tremendous torque on the lowest gears but still indecided. Which one do you tend to use the most? Hub or mid drive? But pretty sure if I slap a 72v battery kn my hub it would definitely hit 45mph, 36mph right now but it's limited to 1500w through screen settings so that way full throttle would only be 1500w instead of 2000w and would save some battery so ride lasts a little longer

    Talk about power consumption and State/Federal requirements for this electric motorcycle. At what speed can you no longer pedal, a dragster isn't really much fun to drive around in.

      @@Meekerextreme You could pay for a high priced call girl and just play cards too Mr. Anonymous... lol? I just want to see some real battery usage numbers, see how bad he's cooking the batteries. Especially from people selling things and using yt as low-rent misleading advertising. I think if you owned an ebike you could understand a little better maybe. When you only have a fossil fuel mind it's hard to move on to something different. Also, they aren't marketing it as anything but a cute little low range e-motorcycle and you know that.

    I thought you would go faster with that much power, i can do the same with 48v 1500w, lovely bike though it does pull a fair bit on the first gear.

    • @mightfight
      @mightfight  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found some of the ebikes I have the GPS does not match the reading. I have a Leaf 48v 1500w ebike that says 38 mph but I dont think its as fast... Same with my BBSHD bike... IDK I know the leaf has way better efficiency @ 1500w this cheap cyclone.... meh probably 75-80% vs 90.5% the leaf DD at 1500w

      @Aa-ron01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mightfight I've found the same, it depends on the acceleration i think it's just a perception thing, I've used two battery placements on my own, and when i had the one in my backpack it felt faster just because i had to be careful not to lift the front wheel, I don't have the same issue with the battery finally mounted in the frame. Even though they're the exact same. Tires also matter on mine, the bigger the tire the slower my display shows as it's only equipped to deal with a 26" wheel regardless of the tire dimensions.

      1500 and 3000 ain't much of a difference like you are thinking it is, it's easy to get to 38 - 40 mph with 1500w to 4000w the 4000w just gets you there faster but after 40 mph the wind resistance is so tough to push through, that's when you need 6kw and higher to push past 40mph and get into the 50 to 60 mph range. Even my 2000w kick scooter will hit 39mph I tried to put a 3000w motor and up the voltage from 60 to 72v I only got 42 mph. Soon as I put dual 3000w motors and 72 v I was able to break 50mph. was pushing almost 5.8kw.

    • @FarmerFpv
      @FarmerFpv 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Or you can just put high psi in the tires and wear road bike tight pants and shirt with a fanny pack you might break 50 mph lol

      My 52v Panasonic BBSHD hits 35-37 too but did you check GPS speed? Even tho it's set as 29 inch tires it's off a bit.... You need a bit after 40 ish...

    39 mph is not really impressive for a Cyclone 3000. My BBS02 1000w goes 38 mph, and only has a 48v Shark battery. :/
