    I agree I think the 2021 sovereign looks better, for myself I am planning on at least 1g gold bar and 1 oz silver Britannia every month, can’t afford a sovereign every month but may look to save during the year and purchase at least one. Will be good to see an update every time you get them and see the pile up on the table 👍

    Love the intro 😂 looks like a fancy penny haha. Some of mine have arrived but I've not got around to unboxing yet. I like the design but the old colour is so much better. Solid plan I think 👍🏽

    Tang, you need to upload more regularly! I've been inspired by your 1 Sov per month foundation stack, i'm considering joining that club. Also, agreed that the copper content makes the colour look a little bit too much like brand new UK pennies. The original St. George and the dragon design is also better looking, but I think the small premium that the Jubilee Sov from this year will carry is probably worth it.

    Honestly loved the younger version of the queen on the older coins. I wish they could have kept it.

    Thank you for your video. Regarding 3:32, sovereigns are minted from a type of 22 karat gold which has a composition of 91.67% gold alloyed with 8.33% copper. There is no silver in a sovereign's gold alloy which is known officially as Crown Gold and was introduced by King Henry VIII in 1526. When freshly minted, sovereigns have a rose gold appearance. However over time, Crown Gold alloy will tone to a deeper golden color. Gold Krugerrand coins are also minted from Crown Gold alloy. On the other hand, American Gold Eagle coins are minted from a slightly different 22 karat gold which has a composition of 91.67% gold alloyed with 5.33% copper plus 3% silver. Therefore American Gold Eagle coins have a golden brass color.

      Older secondary market sovereigns are minted with a higher concentration of silver which makes them appear more yellow (gold!) than the modern sovereigns issued after 2000. Sovereigns issued from year 2000 onward have a higher percentage of copper as the main alloy, which gives them a more reddish or coppery look - I think this is disappointing for buyers.

    These are semi-numis coins at bullion prices. One year only and they'll never likely be minted again so it's all I'm buying this year

    • @TangibleLife
      @TangibleLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, interesting take, I guess they are in the semi-numi category when you put it like that.

      @@TangibleLife I think they might hold a higher premium than the 2002 and 2005. I really like them and are only bettered by the 89

    I love the look of Sovereign but pay sales tax in my state on that on. 24k is tax exempt. Planning on 1 per year and then so Britannia’s, Maples and American gold Eagles for what else I can afford

    Gold Sovereigns for me over 12 months. I stopped with silver bullion because of VAT however, I did move on both proof silver Gothic Crowns and the first Tudor beast stopped now with silver and focus on cold 2022

  • @jduff59

    I like both! Pink Gold is a welcome addition to my assortment of coins. I like the difference between Britannias and Sovereigns, and that rose color is unique among world coins. The only downside is I cannot find one in California, and Bullion By Post prefers not to ship here. I try to get every year and I knew this year would be crucial!

    Agree hundred percent. Why don’t they make them a proper gold colour. They’re 22 carat and have always been that all they need to adjust it back to a silver and gold alloy. I would only buy sovereigns if they were a nice yellow gold so I would rather buy the Britannia even if it’s a bit expensive

    • @TangibleLife
      @TangibleLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
