The cancel culture and the media in this country love nothing more than to tear into failings. You don't see other countries media's piling the pressure on like ours does. They get behind their team. Our fans and media expect way too much. Look at the reaction the team got to losing to Greece. There was no 'oh well Greece played well' it was just England played bad ... I won't lie we didn't play well but it wasn't a consequence of a poor performance on our part it was because Greece was better prepared, better drilled and obviously wanted it more. They played better... Which consequently meant they made us look poor. They got forward with ease on the counter defended in numbers behind the ball, were aggressive and persistent in the press closing us down giving us no time on the ball. That is how you beat England. Don't even allow them time to receive the ball, and that is what Greece did. But eh the media piled the pressure on as usual... "Shambolic" and "poor" were just some of the adjectives used to describe England's performance. Not 1 single iota of acceptance that Greece upped their game and did exactly what was necessary for them to win. English football is not the best style on the planet, not even close ... Our style lacks the requisite standards to win on the major stage. It's a wonder we still manage to get the ball into the final third of the opposing team when our players receive the ball with their backs to goal and can't get it forward quick enough. Our players are good... We do have good players but we don't have a good team and our tactics are always found lacking.
