Here's the review: I was bored out of my mind... I should not be bored watching a pirates of the Caribbean movie
It kicked the ass of the third one. The third one had TWO Mary Sues (Turner and Swan) in it. At least Sparrow had the decency to not gain super pirate ship powers or rule all pirates everywhere. I loved the adventure of the Fountain of Youth and yes, I agree with the lazy characters. The ending was also a bit weird.
We watched it last night at a sleep over. It's SO DARK. You can't see shit when it's dark.
they are making another one and im auditioning for a role in and hope i get why cos it WILL BE FUN ...

I saw this on Starz and, honestly, I so wanted to call my satellite provider for my two hours back. It's one of those films that should have never gone back to the well for #4. Between this and Dark Shadows, someone needs to perform an intervention for Depp and Burton. Tell them to take a break for each other and a couple years off from Hollywood so they can get their act together.

Get Him to the Greek was hilarious! And Alice in Wonderland was a fantastic film.

The first Pirates movie was ridiculously, wonderfully entertaining. Predictably, three mediocre to crappy sequels have coasted on its reputation.
I loved this one more than the other three. It had some of the best Jack Sparrow scenes in any of the four films. However the mermaid/priest thing was odd. However the main story arc of the Pirate films is still unfinished, its the most important plot point and still goes unresolved. Jack still does not have his beloved Black Pearl.
its REALLY strange that black didnt show up in the core three movies, i mean they give us Davy Jones but no Blackbeard, also where the hell was Blackbeard during the whole pirate war thing i mean Blackbeard vs Davy Jones would've been a fight id love to see, the three movies are the only ones i consider exist i love that damn trilogy and this one seriously will NOT ruin my love for the others

you keep forgetting, it;s a Disney movie. As are all the others. If watched as Disney movies, they're great.

Ten years after this review I watched for the first time. I honestly didn’t mind it, sure it has problems, weaker than the other three, but it’s still entertaining fun. Maybe standards have dropped in the last ten years?
I'm glad some said about Alice in wonderland.
I like this movie. I'm actually kind of glad those other two characters are gone, and it focuses more on Sparrow. They were getting boring. But the Christian/mermaid love interest part does feel tacked on, and frankly like a weird substitute.

Really, the first movie was the only really good one. The second and third films had a lot of fun moments, but that's all it had. Just little fun moments with a boring, confusing story around it.
Good call on it bob but also add that black beard (the most epic awesome pirate ever) was shit and if they stuck a little to the real life version would have made for a ton better characters.
Eh... I'd say 8 and 5... but hey. The point is the same. The first was fun but forgettable experience. The last was a convoluted cash-in (at least in my eyes)

Really? The recent pink panther movies with Steve Martin were pretty abyssmal.
I enjoyed the movie.
My guess is that this was a sloppy bridging movie to carry jack's character over to the next major story arc... Admittedly they shouldnt really have bothered but its all about the money :P
Why do these movie franchises CHANGE DIRECTORS! that's what wrecks them.

it DID suck. I assume you watch these things for the spectacle, giant krakens and ghost ships fighting in a tornado or what the fuck ever. There was.....none of those things in here. Just....ok, were going. Now we are here. Now were leaving.

what really pisses me off is how this movie sucks but its also probably my second favourite PotC movie.. favourite being at worlds end (i don't care. i'm not sorry)
it shouldn't even exist really...
suspend your disbelief thats what movies are to remove from the real life for awhile like em hate em get over it it not real ..dont go then go watch a doco
