When I was a university student in America my history professor asked us to choose the person we admire in the world and write his or her story. That was our final exams. I wrote about Nkurumah. This history who was once a professor of African history at the University of Ghana was so mad that he called me to his office and started arguing with me. I told him that he is white and I am black but I saw what Nkurumah did in Ghana and Africa and to me no African can compared himself or herself to him. This man was so mad that he gave me "F", I did not take it lightly so I reported him to the school administration. He nearly lost his job and was forced to change my grade.

Obroni is referred to light skin ppl, ie Europeans, Chinese, Lebanese, even Ghanaians with light ski color are called Obroni in a jovial way But Obroni refers to the Europeans.
As a Ghanaian I never felt so emotional hearing such stories from my history class until I pay a visit to my friend who was schooling at cape coast and we went to the dungeon at the castle. Till date, tears fill my eyes when I listen to your stories going to the castles.
That is the reason when Nkurumah started industrial development he went to Guinea to bring people of that country to work here. He established good relationships with late Sekou Toure.
Is Ghana still reaching out to Guinea? Both countries have abundant mineral resources. Ghana is Africa's largest gold exporter, and Guinea is Africa's largest bauxite and iron ore exporter.
Very encouraged by the 78 year-old Brother, and of course by the others. I am 67, never been to the Motherland, a life- long dream to do so, I need to start saving up to make it happen, and I believe this would be a good organization and group to be associated with in order to make it happen. I'm saving to go as well. I have met several Africans while living here in the south. They were each from different parts of Africa and shared wonderful stories of their culture. I learned so much from them. The United States has & continues to severely fail us black folk ( Black Americans). I can't wait until its my turn to visit the Motherland! I just subscribed to this group and I'm impress in what I see and hear. Visiting Africa is on my bucket list. Ghana Sierra Leone , Liberia, Guinea, Senegal are my target areas. I have seen films both entertainment and documentaries on the mentioned nations. My difficulty lies in finding an African-American travel group to join to go to the nations. I'm open to advice from anyone on locating a legitimate travel group to join.

Hi Jay, many people don't know that Nkurumah started building atomic bomb factory and lot of other industries. All these projects were abandoned. That is the reason I always say that 1966 coup sent us back 100 years. You can ask Ghanaians who are in the 70s above years of age and they will show you where all the industries are located. Some were sold to the foreigners. All our research and pharmaceutical factories were sold to Abbott Laboratory an American company.

He only initiated the construction and acquisition of a small nuclear reactor to be used SOLELY FOR PEACEFUL RESEARCH purposes, especially, application of nuclear sciences to agriculture. The miniature reactor was meant to be delivered and installed by the Soviets in late 1966. But after Nkrumah got deposed, the reactor was never delivered until 1992. In fact, the reactor that was finally acquired was a Chinese version.

As black people why do we have to suffer like these because of the colour of our skin Why ? listening to this folks struggle makes me angry and upset that we have to go through this pain with all what happened to our Ancestors, they have to go through this again , sometimes I ask God why ?? Why all this ?? created us all in his own image I read it from the bible, but others think we are not part of the human race, I said this people can go to hell we are what we are proud to be black 🖤
