You are not the only school trying to use marketing to promote your school, but as a former professor of marketing at HEC Paris, I believe that NO school should use marketing to promote itself. Sorry, I know you do not want to hear this, but business and education do not mix. Also, reporting testing scores or rankings is not a good idea.
Of course they aren't the only school using marketing to promote themselves. As a former professor of marketing, I am dumbfounded that you would take this position in today's multimedia environment. I'm currently viewing this video and your associated comment because I'm moving cross country and have no previous experience with Queen Creek or the schools in the area. Without this information, how could I possibly decide where to send my children? Rankings, test scores, and demographics are all readily available on greatschools.org, as well as a host of other sites, and they're there for a reason. I chose my children's current school based on their ranking, test scores, and positive parent reviews presented in an identical fashion, and I'm grateful that they were there to aid in my decision. I've never regretted it.
