This is one of the easiest ways to do this that I have seen! There is another video crocheting inside the head! Looks harder than what it needs to be. I appreciate you sharing this!
I have another question; How do you do the bangs, with the loops? I haven't seen a video on how to do that part. Any help on how you do the front row of curls would be great.
I use a metal exacto knife that has the x at the tip for a blade and I use a large size yarn needle and I cut the tip off at a slant I show this in my videos that I do
Good morning Selena!! She is coming out gorgeous!! I love your yarn color choice! You have motivated me to do this to some of my cabbies. Yes, I agree.....I like the more neutral original yarn colors. Is that a fondue fork that you have turned into a rooting tool? Do you have a video about it?
Actually it's not a fork I bought it in the craft section I know you can get some exacto knives with the cross that can be tightened up to fit a yarn needle or you cut the tip off I do have videos about that I think
What size drill bit did you use for these holes? Did you add extra rows? Also did you cut the tip off of a crotchet needle for your makeshift rooting tool? If so what size? I will be starting my first soon. My childhood doll inspired me but I'm trying it on a test doll first. Please help 🙏
I did not use any kind of electrical tools all I did was use an exacto cutting knife that had a cross opening I took a large size metal needle took the tip cut it at a crosspoint so that it was narrow and all I did was double thread and pop the yarn into the doll's head and made my loops and kept going I think I have a separate video of that I did not have to really add holes you have a calico cabbage patch kid I recommend making sure the head is warm it makes the needle go in easier I recommend yarn from hobby lobby you do not want to use Red heart yarn it's coarse thick it's not as good quality and for a cabbage patch kid that has love and memories you want to do it with a soft high quality yarn you only need one bundle I highly recommend hobby lobby take your cabbage patch kid with you to find a close yard match for hair I do it all the time good luck and hope all goes well
@@Selenas_Elegant_Dolls I enjoy your videos. There are not many instuctional videos or books specific to rerooting cabbage patch kids. Thank you for reaching out to help others on their journey 💗
Thankyou for the video! I’ve been trying hard to recreate the tool you are using but have not been successful 😢any chance you could make a video of that ? Great video either way!
Hi Selena I'm new here but watch your whole video and WOW SO BEAUTIFUL !! could you tell me how many ounces weigh the yarn that is please Thank You Anne the Newbee
Hi thank you for being a newbie and welcome to my channel I don't know how many ounces oh wait is the yarn when I buy it I buy it because of the color and texture
@@Selenas_Elegant_Dolls so you don't have to buy aa certain type of yarn or company ? lol Thanks in advance I bought a crimp-n-curl cabbie and did not know it and when I got her I hated her stiff ugly hair and packed her under my bed but now that I see this re-root I would like to use her as my practice re-root project
I use glue from a hot glue gun and press it all to the top of the head to the bottom and then I put some cotton with powder inside the head to prevent any moisture but I use a hot glue gun and glue the yarn inside the head flat to the Head this way it will never come out
@@Selenas_Elegant_Dolls was the original yarn glued? I thought they were just hooped and stitched?? Wouldn't glue eventually melt and lead to "glue head".?
No the yarn whenever come out of her head it cannot be yanked out but then again any coverage patch kid the hair can be gained broken off but no I've had cabbage patch kids I rebooted for years I started the trend professionally the glue I use Is not wax once it is heated hot with a professional glue gun it will never become liquid again plus I sprinkle baby powder inside the head and I put fiber fill inside the head as well after everything has been glued permanently now if you use Eileen's white glue if it becomes moisture or damp or wet it will become fresh again the glue I use does not touch the dolls plastic scalp it only glues all of the yarn into one hard peace it cannot be re melted or anything else but it's very important to add powder and some cotton to prevent moisture from getting inside the head

@@Selenas_Elegant_Dolls Oh..ok. It looks like a smaller fondue fork lol! I will check out the craft section. Thank you! :)
I have questions; 1. How do you get the hair out/off the head and 2. where do I get that needle? Thanks
I will be doing a video of me cutting a Barbie doll's hair tonight and removing the hair from inside the head with tweezers

I can not figure out how to keep my twists from untwisting. Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening?

Does the hair stay in the head? Looks like it could be yanked out easily..?
