Admittedly, as a baskeball player I don't know much about football, but I remember watching him with Ajax and not really seeing what he could do. Having said that, I know a playmaker when I see one. This video makes me appreciate his skill so much more than I did when he was with Ajax. As a fellow playmaker, his passes are (in my eyes) phenomenal. The way he sees the pitch... His level of anticipation... Is spot on. To me, the best playmakers always give their teammates the ball in positions where they can either be successful themselves or further advance the ball. Ziyech does both very well.
In that 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-3 type of formation there’s no denying he’s world class, it’s comfortable playing there for his playstyle and his passing and shooting abilities work well when an overlap is created, wizard 💙
