Those apartments do look nice. I like seeing these kinds of videos as it gives us view of the cost of living in other countries.
I do my best to showcase the middle of the road range. I will show off some of the more expensive and some of the cheaper ones in the coming months. I want to explore as many of the options as I can.
your killing me I want to be there so bad love getting to see the apartments ty
I'm sorry to be killing you with all of the wonderful places to rent here in Siem Reap. Haha. I do love apartment shopping here and I really like making these videos to showcase how much you can get for your money.
When you get there the heat might kill you!
You are really good at reviewing condos.
Straight to the point and no fluff.
Hope u did find the dream condo now with the experience u learn from the other and i'm curious which one you did chose=)
Thank you. I try my best to showcase the properties the best that I can and try not to add too many useless details to it.
It was a fun round this time and I did find a spot I really like. I've moved in and the first few hours are great. I'll make a video on it in a couple of weeks once I've spent some time here.
@@FrugalWanderer haha good man, remember IF u did choose a pool condo to buy some rubberducks..a pool isnt a pool without rubberducks =)
@@gmm5550 I will sing the rubber ducky song as well. Because that's what a grown man would do in a pool with his rubber duckies. Haha
Be careful of large rooms , Cost of Air Conditioning, can be Prohibitive
I have found this out already. Haha. My last apartment was a fairly large studio and it was a little expensive to cool when it got hot.
Good morning Sean hope you can find cheap nice places to stay walking distance and very quiet have great day 😀
I think the place I found is perfect for me. We will find out soon.
Digging all these apartments.. looking forward to the final reveal… you get more views if you combine apartment tour and a prohok meal video…
Man. Maybe I should get prahok delivered while viewing apartments. Haha
@@FrugalWanderer imagine the thumbnail you can come up with ( 5 minutes prohok with my apartment reveal, great prohok in new neighborhood)….
@@Hea9lt9hy9 “my new apartment must be prohok proof “
Yeah the last flat was a winner IMO -love the bucolic setting and the art piece-in any event it seems like there's quite a few interesting places to rent .Damn nice to have a choice unlike here in Vancouver where 1 bdrm average price is 2700 CAD and you're still in a competition to get the place.Anyway cheers Sean hope it all gets sorted.A la prochaine
I loved that last place myself. The only issue I had with it was that it was west facing. I dealt with that for the last three months and it can get really uncomfortable in the afternoon. If it was facing any other direction it would have been much higher on my list. Especially because of the quiet location. I loved it out there.
The prices in Toronto are similar to Vancouver. I do not miss it at all. The fact that I can get an apartment in a day after viewing it, is amazing
Last one for the win. Fantastic.
I agree. It was a lovely unit and the view was outstanding. The artwork was a great touch as well.
#1 is my choice out of all… let’s see what other apartments Mr. Sunny can come up with..
I liked the first two for sure. Unfortunately the other places that Saney and I were going to look at fell through. Some got rented or one had to get work done on it before I could see it. I'm happy with the apartment I chose. I'm actually moving today. Yay
@@FrugalWanderergood thing, Cambodia is getting more expats from Thailand or other parts of the world and many prefer SR… It’s 2024 place to be…
@@mhouse1572 I was hoping the opposite - but the word is out and has been out
I feel very fortunate to be here. I no longer have any stress with the visas like I was having and I understand that it's just getting more complicated for some folks. I'll stick with Cambodia. Nice and central location. Amazing people, great value for money and a laid back lifestyle that I was looking for. I'm happy
250$ sound good to me 😂
Me too.
Another nice selection… indoor is needed for daily swim in super hot or super rainy days….
Yeah. The indoor pool is a very nice bonus with that apartment.
I prefer #1 because of the pool. #2 Wat Bo is the best location… my guest- you picked #2…
The first two in this video were pretty awesome. I loved the pool as well. There were a couple of places that were seen on the first day but I never added to footage to the video because it was getting really long. Those were also on my short list. You will find out which apartment I chose in a week or two when I do an apartment tour after being there for a bit.
Hi Sean, could I just ask what your main motivations were for moving, the last apartment you were in looked a nice set-up. Any particular downsides you found after 3 months there or was it just wanting to experience living in a different area of town.
I've seen a lot of places online say a minimum period of 6 months, I wonder if that's the reslity in practice or 3 months still gives a lot of choice.
Thanks and good luck in your new set-up
My main motivation for moving was my channel. I promised myself that I would try to keep moving around and exploring the area. I loved the last place I was in, but I was getting comfortable there. Constant change is good for me.
The only downside I had was that the apartment was west facing and during the heatwave in April, the apartment would get warm quickly in the afternoon. Because I don't want to spend a bunch of money on electricity, I would only run the AC when I needed to. It just got uncomfortable a few times. It was never bad or unmanageable, but I just wanted to see what a new place would be like. We will see. I just moved in and I need to unpack. So far I love it here.
Australia we have ground floor (because it's at ground level!) then 1st floor (because it's the first floor up!). Always seems a bit strange to me when ground floor is first floor (because not logical right!).
Number 1 for me personally. Not a bad place.
I agree. It was a great spot. I loved the size of the space, the natural lighting and the swimming pool was a great addition.
@@FrugalWanderer Also looked like a place that would stay cool in the warmer weather with the tiled floors and didn't seem to catch direct sunlight from what I remember. Not bad at all for 250 bucks.
Best part : 11:29 me again 😂🤣😅😆 Nah it's not you
I may be a reflection of the man I want to be. Haha
Pool with gym, ground floor or elevator, AC, modern 1bd, good location close proximity to restaurants and markets for $500/ month high end…thanks
Sounds perfect. I honestly haven't seen an apartment with a gym yet. I will add it to my list next time .
@@Basman59 Bingo . I don't want a small gym at home . I want to get out and walk maybe a mile or so to a nice big gym and hit it off peak hours . Walk home completes the circuit .
Some of them are probably less than 500$/month
There is a local gym that is $30-50 a month depending on what you need access to. Add that to a $250 a month apartment with a pool and you have a great deal for ear $300 a month.
There is a gym that my friends joined that is about a 10 minute walk from here. The prices are between $35 and $55 a month. You pay more for access to the fancier equipment and the sauna.
Out of this batch I'd lean toward #1 for $250 And the pool . I like the secondary clothes drying balcony . It keeps that out of the way . I didn't see a heater on the shower but maybe there was one . I like cool/cold showers for the jolt in the heat but also like the ability to have a nice warm one . Not looking for the bedroom on the street one or the one out of town and don't need the huge one . I think I may have grabbed #1 for maybe 6 months before I left to video the rest . Thanks for the variety pack .
I have had a water heater and never used it. Typically the water is cool for around a minute or so and then warms up. I typically take quick showers so as soon as it starts to heat up, I'm doing my best to get done as fast as I can. Haha
That empty lot is farm land its a rice field.
I asked the realtor and he said that it gets used for rice, but it is just a vacant lot. I was confused too, because to me it just looked like farm land
Good job ! Would be nice to see it on a map , as to proximity to hyw 6 and the river . 🐉
All of the apartments I look at are close to everything. I choose specific districts on purpose so that they will be close to shopping and what not. I don't show the map locations on purpose because the realtor doesn't have them on their site either. This way you can just contact the realtor and go from there. I may add links to the specific units next time. Unfortunately they rent so quickly. By the time I post the video, the units are gone. Haha
If it was me, it would be the $300 appartment which is really nice. But, again for me anyway it would be location, location, location.
I loved that one as well. There wasn't a property I was shown that didn't have great charm.
@@FrugalWanderer thats great because I am heading there in a couple of months to retire too, looking forward to the experience.
If you come to Siem Reap, go to IPS and ask for Saney. He is amazing and is one of the best realtors I've ever worked with. I'm not sponsored or anything. I just share my experience and over the few months I've worked with him, he's been outstanding.
What a wonderful video. All three apartments have wonderful features with few concerns. In some ways it is a difficult choice. Respectfully
Yeah.. The choices are difficult here. So many great options
@@FrugalWanderer I always take the ground floor - if I am up high it’s tempting to jump - I survived one time - very lucky 🍀
Good info .Thanks !
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Every apartment I’ve seen for rent , online, in Seam Reap , is only 3 minutes, from Pub Street, ????
Marketing or for very quick walkers 🤨🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah. It's usually 3-5 minutes away. Most of the places I looked at are within 20 minutes walking distance from pub street.
Greetings... Great job previewing current apartment's in Siem Reap... Brillant.... Cheers Buddy 🍺
Thanks. I really had fun viewing all the apartments.
Tell me took apartment number one, lol
You will find out soon enough. Haha
Nice to see what is available and price range - if there is no ocean/sea near to me then pool is a must...but that's just me. Each to their own. (I have sea and pool at the moment so happy!)
A pool is a must for me now. I use it all the time. Especially in the afternoon when the heat gets oppressive. I was just visiting Sihanoukville for a few days and the ocean was a nice treat while I was there.
I like the one with the price $300 but the size means high AC bill!
I loved the $300 dollar one myself but the AC bill for me alone would not make the space worth it. If I had a small family, then it would be perfect. Just for me alone, it's just too much wasted space.
Are the locals friendly and how is the English when conversing?
The locals are very friendly and their English is very good too.
Thanks mate
Hi Sean , the apartment number 2 for 250$ without pool , how i can contact the owner , or do you have a phone number or Address , thank you in advance .and also for the nice Video .
Here is the listing for that apartment. Feel free to contact IPS as they are the realtors I use and they have the listing. Saney is the realtor I use and he is amazing. ips-cambodia.com/listing-details/rental/17511-1-bedroom-apartment-for-rent-wat-bo-sala-kamreuk-siem-reap/
I looked at that apartment quite recently and was on the verge of taking it but went with another option at the last minute. It's a great apartment though, and if you do take it, I think you'll like it.
And I second Sean's recommendation for IPS, and Saney. He has been helping me find my new home and has been great.
Now I won’t ever be able to see you in the breezeway of your other place acrost from the johnny walker home store I used to go past everyday on my way to school - did you ever go in that place ?
Nope. I never went in. I think they sold restaurant supplies. I never had the need. Haha
@@FrugalWanderer Weird name , ay ? But goes to show you can do it -

Frugal Wanderer.Well done brother Definitely Vietnam is the choice rather than Thailand for me, cant be beaten for price, the only thing is I find Vietnamese people to be very conservative and shy compared to Thai people.
I haven't been to Vietnam yet, but I'm looking forward to visiting and spending time there soon.
What's cheapest place to live in Cambodia for Retirement visa Guy's 🤔☸️🕉️💯🌎
I do not know which is the cheapest, but Siem Reap is quite inexpensive and I really have enjoyed it here so far.
Thanx very much sir.Looks fabulous and doing Due Diligence before leaving Land of smiles for Cambodia.Just looking on YT but subbed to your Chanel anyways.Looking forward to your content.Only found it 10 minutes ago whatever.Cheers Buddy 🙏🇮🇪☸️🕉️💯🌎😊
@@FrugalWandererone more. Hoping to sort out a Retirement visa or OV one then will need to do what you have done ✅
All I can say is to make sure you don't get a tourist visa by accident. I made this mistake. You can apply for the retirement visa a week or ten days after you arrive. It depends on the travel agency you use to get your visa. Good luck.
Another great apartment tour. Here's why my GF and I liked it:
(1) Unrushed, clear and informative dialog;
(2) Minimal editing;
(3) No overuse of post-production music;
(4) No needless background clutter from other vloggers, tire-kickers and overly-eager agents.
I'm glad you're giving fair criticism where it's due. Landlords/agents also watch these type of videos, and are eager to learn what foreigners like and don't like whenever *money* is involved. Lazy and uninformed vloggers who only praise their content are of little value to anyone.
Also nice to see you continuing to work alone. Many emerging but vulnerable vloggers have been dragged down by a romantic partner whose disruptive and irritating on-air conduct degrades their work into boring, self-indulgent home movies. In such cases, the culprit is typically the person with the smaller financial investment at risk.
So I want to start this off by saying that I appreciate having you here and watching my content. But I want to put a stop to something I'm seeing. A trend with your comments. Since you are appreciative when a creator is open and critical in their videos, I can only assume that you will appreciate it if that trend continues in the comments.
That being said. What I do is make content for fun. I want to share the world I am travelling in and share the things I enjoy and showcase everything including some things that may not be great. It is intended to be entertaining. If you are not entertained then feel free to click off and no longer watch.
What I will not accept or tolerate is a breakdown of my content. I do not care what you liked or did not like. The reason being is that I do not make content for you. I make it for myself to share. Again if you do not like it click away.
And here is where you are going to get the one and only warning that you will receive. If I ever see you poke at other creators or allude to them in my comment section again, then you will be banned and reported. What I will never tolerate is the belittling of anyone based upon their gender, the clothing they wear or any perceived flaws you may think they have. This is my channel and my channel alone. I have friends that I record with and I have people that stop in on my videos and have a chat with me. This does not give you free reign to make comments that are intended to bring anyone down.
Like I said. I appreciate having you here. But this is my house. My rules and if you don't like it. Please feel free to click away.
Hey Sean, well done for sticking up to this guy & also standing up for other creators. I have seen him make some pretty nasty comments in the past on others content.
He seems to be a misogynistic pig in his comments towards female content creators in particular and I am really happy to see him being called out.
I really feel sorry for his so called “girlfriend” I don’t believe any woman would actually want to be with such an insufferable “man”.
Thank you & the world needs more creators like you. I can tell you’re a really good man & you stand up for what is right.
Agree 👌
Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry you drew unfortunate inferences from my comments here, but thank you for letting them stay posted for so long. As you (not me) brought up the friends shown in the background of your first apartment-hunting video, I'll reply to your point. Yes, I did follow and support them for several months. We also support 60+ other channels, and had started to support yours. Your friends both seem like kindly folks. In our view, he is the wiser, more-respectful and much-superior online presenter, overall. Our poor view of his partner began intensifying when she misread a comment I made about her choice to wear ripped-up short-shorts (the same ones shown in your video) while walking around Pattaya alone at night, all the while discussing women's safety, if you can imagine. When I pointed out that her unwise (and disrespectful to male-dominated Thai culture) attire was not unlike what a street-walker was seen wearing in that video, she somehow took offense and -- without warning -- blocked me from their channel. I could not even clarify my remarks or, perhaps, offer an apology. Her choice to continue wearing them throughout very-conservative SE Asia conveys a defect in her character. Anyway, today, we watched your other friend's live-stream video with interest, and were pleased to hear of the overdue changes he is co-incidentally now making to his channel. While I understand your attitude toward anything further I have to say, I remain thankful for you helping your friend's new plans along and will continue watching here and on their channel. As a courtesy, I will no longer post comments, but will continue paying your monthly membership fee unless you cancel it. FWIW, I believe your time and effort are worth more than you are charging each month. Thanks again, and goodbye.
When you say $250 and $300 per month, is that based on a 6 or 12 month lease, or is it month to month??
Everything I looked at was for a 3 month lease. If I was to sign for a longer period, then I would try to negotiate a better price based on how long I was signing for. Sometimes you can get a deal for a longer stay.
Australia we have ground floor (because it's at ground level!) then 1st floor (because it's the first floor up!). Always seems a bit strange to me when ground floor is first floor (because not logical right!).
I'm from Canada. Nothing there seems logical to me. Haha
