IMO, Greenlee was so furious because she was devastated & betrayed. It wasn't that she wanted her parents back together, but that Roger had never given her his love in her entire life...now he'd given it to her friend, Simone (who knew how much Greenlee craved any scrap of attention from Roger). "I wanted a father and you took him away from me. What do you have that I don't? Why am I not lovable?" IMO, that last sentence is the key to Greenlee's character...at least until Leo came along.
@Liligal1 Yeah, I've been watching some of the older scenes with Roger. I never saw them originally. He was pretty sleazy, wow, but in the later scenes, he seemed to have a softer side. He is out for himself, though, that is true. I can't believe he said "I love you and I'm sorry" on his deathbed to Greenlee, when he thought he was talking to Simone, ahhh...
@Liligal1 Really? I started watching AMC in 2001, so I didn't see anything prior to this of Roger. I don't know about Roger in the past, but this Roger didn't seem like a bad guy, just a little mislead. He did seem to love Greenlee. I liked the scenes with him and Mary, and I thought his trying to hide his liason w/Simone was hilarious, even though it hurt Greenlee. Wasn't there a scene of Greens almost walking in on them? I did like her and Leo together, and didn't want to see her hurt.
@sneakiebug10 OK, nm, I found what I was looking for. Now, I'm looking for the beginning of the Proteus storyline - I know Roger was involved in it, but can't find much.
I was really angry at Greenlee for this - not that I liked her, anyway. It's not like Simone slept with Leo, she slept with her dad! Greenlee was living in some kind of dreamland, thinking her dad and mom would ever get back together, anyway. Greenlee only thinks about herself and her own happiness.
Sooo let me see if I have got this straight, Roger tells Greenlee that he’s going to reconcile with her mother and because of being told that, she’s selfish and living in a fantasy land and is a horrible awful vile retched person? Is that correct? Yes, Simone didn’t sleep with Leo, but her father, she still LIED to her best-friend! You want your best-friend having an affair with one of your parents?! What Roger, Mary, and Simone did to Greenlee was unforgivable!
8:14 “go home and slip into something naked” lol 😂 I love Leo 😂

I'd be saying Leo I can't believe you knew about this and now I have no idea who the hell I just committed the rest of my life to
