I worked in a Federal prison for almost a year as a pharmacy Technician assistant to the nursing department. The institution could be WAY better in health care of the inmates for sure. I also agree that the inmates should make minimum wage (they are already paying for their crime) because they will need money when they are released. They also have a commissary in each yard if they need sundries. Other than that, I have observed that they are treated fairly well.

My uncle is in Prison in Washington State. He makes $.68 an hour!! 😂😂😂 But he deserves to be there. But what the congressman is forgetting is that it's the family on the outside who ends up paying the bill. My grandma sent money every month until she passed. Now he calls and guilt trips who ever he can sucker into sending him money!! The only thing I did was send the book " How to survive a prison sentence for dummies"!! He was not happy!!!😂😂
I worked in a jail, they were paid $2/hour and were glad to have that for their commissary. They were all cared for and sent to the hospital for any tx beyond the scope provided by the physicians and staff at the jail.
