I'm 55 and when we were little we tht it was something for our mom after we saw her putting the stuff under the trees 😂. We went along with it for years😂. My children found out when my youngest daughter was 5. I was breaking my back working to get their stuff and we had a family meeting😅. After the meeting, we all knew it was a wrap and it changed Christmas for us. The lists got hella short and we stayed in our pjs all day. We got closer ❤😊.

My sister was 4 years older than me her birthday is the 26th of December and my birthday is the 3rd of January her year 69 and mine 74 we as in I had to have our birthday together and Christmas was all in one now how fair was that😅 but we had a good childhood it was so good we were "poor" we didn't know it until by definition when we were older when we looked back I guess we were😅 rich with love and family and we had everything we needed and some what we wanted look back WE were rich❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hey. I am glad my dad told me Santa wasn't real, but I knew he wasn't real before my dad ever told me. I didn't like the fact that they made every child believe that Santa was a white man giving every child toys when parents were working hard to make their kids Christmas full of joy!

My birthday is the day after Christmas, and I had an older sister whose birthday was the day after that.I had a lot of siblings and my parents told all of us that everybody in the house gets their birthday presents on Christmas along with their Christmas gifts cuz we ain't buying no dam presents all year round. I eventually knew Santa wasn't real cuz he wasn't coming to the hood squeezing through bars on locked windows or sneaking through an apartment door that could wake the neighborhood cuz it needed DW-40.

Well y'all are lucky. I'm 39 and the only presents we got were always from our parents. Nobody else bought us shit. lol Basically, it just became natural for us to only buy gifts for our household. My parents would buy stuff for their siblings sometimes, but other than that, nope.

Hey, I’m your introvert watcher.. my mother refuse to tell us Santa is real because how she was devastated when she was younger and learned that it was my grandparents wrapping the presents. My mother made sure that didn’t happen to us so she told us the truth. I did the same to my kids. My kids are happy that I told them the truth.

Topic: The aunt didn't have the right to speak on that topic even though it wasn't that serious. She should have directed the child to her parents.. it doesn't matter the child's age, it's about their home, belief system, and values. I personally don't understand why people think Santa is a lie, it's like reading a story and using the imagination to visit an exotic land or searching for hidden treasures. Some people want to keep their children innocent as long as they possibly could and with everything that's going on, I don't blame them and kids need a place to be a kid, do kid things, and have kid thoughts. Eventually, kids get older and they know who Santa really is. I would rather have my kid believe in Santa vs glorifying gangsters, drug dealers, or anything like that.Anyway, happy belated birthday AJ! 🥳

I find it was the kids that didn’t get nothing telling it’s No real Santa! I allowed mine to believe as long as they wanted too. So what it’s fictional but, it’s a part of childhood. When my daughter found out it wasn’t a Santa it wasn’t a big deal to her but, I guarantee her Christmas’s as a child she’ll remember with happy memories & have stories to tell others about believing in Santa……..

Another thing teach your kids to keep what you’ve taught them to themselves. Don’t ruin what I have going on. Not going to happen today because I’ve seen babies tweeting with pampers on. And very good at it. Soooooo sad though. It’s just like robbing them of their childhood. Speaking of lying, and since children are so advanced and May say anything out their mouths, what if your child asked you how many boyfriends have you had. Is honesty warranted then? Or will you tell a lie knowing the number is greater than the years they are old.

I told my kids the truth about Santa Clause when they were around 5 or 6. But I’m from the south and we didn’t say that it was a grown up game. I told them that we tell them that to teach them faith. How to believe in something that they didn’t see with their own eyes. And then told them the true meaning of Christmas
My son grew out of Santa on his own(about 11 or 12),just like I did as a kid(he's almost 16 years old)..the same with the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy

I think it’s ok for the babies to believe in Santa. They get excited and it’s just a fun way and like you said innocent way to let them enjoys holidays. At some point they usually just realize Santa isn’t real lol. I’m ok with them understanding ain’t no 🥷coming in my house at night leaving gifts except me 😂

I had to pause this real fast after you completed reading the letter. I’m soooooo tired of having this conversation every single year. Now it’s perfectly fine what you want to tell your children. Christmas has always been a time for children to be extra good, leave out cookie and milk and go to be bed early so you can get up early to see the milk and cookies gone. These young parents today are taking the fun out of kids being kids. There will always be a time when they will eventually just know that Santa is not real. I hear adults saying, “ I’m not having my kids think some white man comes down the chimney.” It makes me sad because that was some happy times for me as a child. And for my parents see the joy on my face when I came downstairs and saw all the toys, running waking everyone up in the house to show what Santa had left. Damn it’s just for a short while. They won’t become a teen and still be giving y’all asses letters to give Santa. Let the kids be kids, they’ll find out later that you’ve always been the hero. Now what makes me sick is when grown folks be looking for a present like a damn child. That burns me up. Let them have just that one day. Let them dye eggs on Easter, let them dress up in their pretty dresses and little suits. Let them have birthday parties. Let a kid be a kid. They can’t!! Why? Because a lot of them have adult duties at 10. Go to your baby brothers class and pick him up, use your key let yourselves in, fix the two of y’all some cereal, don’t open the door don’t answer the phone unless I call once then hang up and call again. I’m sooooo thankful for my mom, dad, aunts, uncles and my older brothers because they all made my childhood the absolute BEST!!!!!
Yes!! I agree with all of this! Santa was a lie but it was fun believing and my older siblings didn’t ruin it for me I found out when I found out. It was a fun time and the thought of it was fascinating. It was a time to be a child and I loved it!

As my kids got older I eventually told them that Santa wasn’t real because I didn’t want no white man taking credit for all my hard earned money I spent on their gifts.

My children are nothing like me or their dad. We are both outgoing and always have been also the life of the party. In my younger days friends stayed at my house only because I wasn’t allowed to spend the night at anyone’s house. My children are all the way opposite. Home bodies 16&17. Never seen anything like it. However, I thank God because where I live I’d be worried if they did want to go anywhere. So I won’t complain.
