    Gorgeous scenery, great trip, positive vibrations, an awful lot of luck with the weather, and a nice movie. Thanks for sharing 🙏

    Beautiful video, I am thinking about going for bikepacking trip next year after college. Do you happen to have the GPX files of your trip i'd love to have to get inspiration for my own trip.

    In Isafjordur I didn't see your bikes in boxes or even plastic...does the airline just take the bikes as they are?

    amazing, had no idea there was an airport in westfjords could help me out a lot! are there lots food stops on the way, it didn't seem like you guys were carrying a lot of food (if any)

    • @theedgycentrist
      @theedgycentrist ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there were places to stop pretty frequently. We chose to go off the beaten path a lot so sometimes food stops were 30 miles + apart, but, overall, it was easy to come by food and resupplies.

    Just subscribed, so this was a non-camping trip? How much did Geysir charge per day to store your bike cases? I have an old Montague Paratrooper I may just fold it up and throw it in a bag and carry along, if it gets banged up a bit I won't care. Thx for putting this together!

      Correct, we stayed in hotels and guesthouses each night which made things more comfortable but also decreased the flexibility of our itinerary and raised the stakes - meaning we HAD to make it to the given town each day (regardless of headwinds and stream crossings) for food and accommodations.
      Geysir wasn’t very expensive. I don’t remember the exact amount but I think it was $100+ USD for the whole time. We stuffed one bike bag into the other so that we only paid to leave one bag.

    great video! planning a similar route with my 15-year old son. May I ask what tail bags those are, and if you liked them? Seems like not too much bounce considering how long they are.

      Thanks! They are Rockbros. I’m sure there are higher end ones out there but they worked great for us. I liked that they could be expanded or contracted as needed based on how much stuff you needed to fit in.

    Wonderful! Also, the weather for the most part looks really good. Which time of the year did the both of you bikepack in the Westfjords?

    Looks like you hit the perfect weather window. I was there twice in September and was blasted with wind,rain, and snow both times. Such a amazing area. Did you fly to Isafjiorder or drive?

    • @edwarren14

      We got super lucky with the weather. We rode from Reykjavik to Isafjorder then flew back to Reykjavik

      There is a car rental place at the airport that also stores bags. I think it was Geysir
