Thanks for keeping me company this morning! One game I’ve found to simple and surprisingly fun for multiple generations is Left, Right and Center. Will be curious to read other suggestions - thanks for the games you mentioned!
I married someone who doesn't like games. And his birthday is on New Year's Eve. So.... I play whatever games my grandson (9-1/2 yo) wants to play. It's usually been chess or checkers in the past couple years. He went through a phase of wanting to play Hide-and-Seek. Whew! My knees don't allow crouching down anymore! Jana, I think your stripes are beginning to match the beginning of my socks. Three in a row have matched!
I have close to 100 board games in my collection. Some of our favorites are Azul, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, Karuba, Rummikub, Qwirkle, Quacks of Quedlinburg, 5 Crowns and Skip-Bo. I just bought Gnome Hollow but haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Have fun on your game night.
We play a lot of cribbage in my family. Some of us like puzzles. Our son bought us a new board game for the holidays called Cascadia. We haven't played it yet but the premise is you build harmonious ecosystems. I like puzzles a lot but am pretty choosy about it. I have a favorite that I do over and over - a bookstore.
Another happy day. I am trying to catch up on my stripes on my second sock. My flavors are mixed fruit and blackcurrant Sounds delicious!!! If you want a mindbender my sister did a QR code puzzle.
I used to play cribbage when I lived on cape cod. I think I went 30 years without playing, then found a board and it all came back to me. It’s all about making 15. Haven’t played chess in maybe 20 years. Another cape cod past time. Lots of winter down time. 😻😽 love to the sweet baby.
The only recent game we have is Cards Against humanity. And that was about 10 years ago. Haven’t gotten any of the recent expansions because we are empty nesters now, and you really can’t play with two.
Cat Making muffins. Do you puzzle with the picture up or hidden? Ski jumps, old quarries as pools, rope swings over the river….ah the good ol’ days before insurance and law suits. And docs would literally say “take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning”. Game: Poetry For Neanderthals. Lots of laughter!!
Oh ladies! Please revisit Cribbage. It's a counting game and, as knitters, we count constantly. You should be right at home. The difference is in the cadence of counting multiples of 15. It's oddly satisfying.
I have so many favorite games. We have an ancient game of Around Great Britain which is a strategic train game which has to be played around the holidays. Another train game we love is Ticket to Ride which takes longer to play and involves more strategy. We also got Ransom Notes last year which is hilarious to play. We also take Pass The Pigs when traveling and years ago when backpacking. It’s a dice game but the dice are pigs and you score depending on which way your two pigs land 😆
My Son loved Monopoly growing up and being a only child that was a tough game to plsy with Mom since Dad didn't like to play...😂 I would say Mexican Train is fun and not to competitive.
My favorite game is Ravensburger's Labrynth!! Kids can play too!! There are versions of the game besides the original such as the Harry Potter one. And believe it or not, Skip-Bo Junior is loads of fun and kids can play! It's more fun than the older age version that's just Skip-Bo. I play Crazy Cat Lady with one of my granddaughters and that's not hard to learn and also Sleeping Queens. And yes Ravensburger makes the best puzzles.... no dust, matte finish.
The link is in the video description and I'll put it here as well. Also in the video description is a link to order yarn if you need. berroco.com/patterns/mystery-blanket-knit-along/
We like the dice game called Roll for It. You can still be social and play. We played Dumb Ways To Die but that might not be one for your dad 😂 On puzzles do you ever glue them together and frame them? Or hang them up on the foam board?

I’m not much of a puzzler or game player but my family loves to do both.

@@Unicorn_rancherI know, that’s the bummer when you become empty nesters.
Could it be Ravensberger the puzzle maker. We do those and love them

PIGS! I haven't thought about that one in years. We used to play that a lot when the kids were little. Thanks for the reminder.
We play Boggle and Nertz. There are only two of us most of the time though.
Mexican Train. It's a lot of fun. Best with at least
4 people
My boys (25 & 27) play canasta with my Mom. Clue is good board game.
My Son loved Monopoly growing up and being a only child that was a tough game to plsy with Mom since Dad didn't like to play...😂 I would say Mexican Train is fun and not to competitive.
Tha ts my jam. Not so much the Kincaid, but the Christmasy, or mountains, etc. We have a black bear puzzle. That killed us.

We used to play Crazy Canasta... it was Canasta with 5 decks of cards! I wonder if the rules are somewhere online. It was a lot of fun!
Please explain more about the Mystery Afghan for the New Year. What yarn, needles, and where do we get signed up? Thanks
The link is in the video description and I'll put it here as well. Also in the video description is a link to order yarn if you need.

Anyone for Chinese Checkers? Talk about kitty 🐈⬛ fun!
I have sent a puzzle that is all clear pieces. I haven't bought it. YET

On puzzles do you ever glue them together and frame them? Or hang them up on the foam board?
We did a series of four puzzles that were a theme. We glued and framed all of those.
Dominoes
Set double 12 or 16
I’m sorry. I can’t stop. Do you remember store bought mint flavored paste? What was that stuff made from anyway?
😘👍🏼🥰🧶😍❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
