Thank you so much, Brent! IMHO, a journalist should always try to be impartial and objective. But both ladies began to chuckle and smirk at the mention of the pager attack. It does them no credit. Anyway, thanks for the lesson!
Hello Brent, I really love your videos. I was wondering if the usage of “ a great deal of” is correct. You are saying “a great deal of fish or a great deal of new terms or words”. But when I look at the rule for example Longman dictionary, it says that it should be used for uncountable nouns. Could please lend me a hand about this?
Honestly, I can't express it well. Our lives here feel as if we're truly in a state of dying. There's no sign of revival in any field. Life here is completely dead, even though Yemen is rich in resources. However, the people here aren't benefiting from them, and I’m not sure where all this wealth goes. Only God knows. As for education, it’s extremely poor. If we had a good educational system, I wouldn’t have to rely on online lessons. Do you see what I mean? I’m currently learning programming online as well. I can’t even describe life in Yemen, but we thank God. I’ve learned a lot, especially from you and the American teacher, Rachel, who has been very helpful to me. You, too, are very well-known for your contribution

I'm not sure, but I would totally use it the way I did in the lesson. There are a great deal of fish in the ocean.

I'm glad to hear that the war finally could be halted. We want the cease-fire and the peace comes to Middle-East, not to mention Ukraine.
So true. Nice job using “halt.”
Congratulations for the war was gone.
I hope it lasts.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent I hope too .
To halt sounds German: anhalten. 😂

No way! You're from Yemen. I mentioned Yemen at the end of the English lesson. I hope all is well there for you.
