  • Well here you go. Kubota said it was warranty so we got us a new part.
    And its not twisting on the shaft like the old one did with a pry bar. It was doing some screeching and making weird noises from time to time. Just brief noises when changing directions.
    Thanks for Watching.

    Thank You - for your extra efforts, in 100 degrees, explicitly in order to teach us!! Awesome!

      Its got to get done regardless. Im just glad someone gets info from my efforts on my channel. Thats what I do it for.
      I hope some of the next generations get something out of it. Younger people aren't interested in this type of work like they used to be.

    Very informative. I don't even own a skid yet. Still waiting on a 65 or 75 to come in. Your channel is much too small for the great information you are putting out. 👊

    Thanks for the video, very informative. Good to see someone installing tracks without a excavator.

      Thats why I did it that way. Also I kinda feel like if you don't do that type of stuff you stop being able to do that kind of stuff. I know guys in better shape than me ( not fat ) that can't do this kind of thing anymore. And they are younger than me.
      Thanks for Watching. I appreciate it.

    My Kubota is banging, saw previous video will check idler thanks for the information

    • @skidco
      @skidco  ปีที่แล้ว

      It probably needs the shim kit. I have two sitting in my shop. I haven't had time to shim the one side yet. When I was looking around I found all the play in that idler. But it didn't fix the banging noise.
      There are metal shims you can weld it to the undercarriage and take up the slack in the pocket. If your a subscriber you will see it. Ill do a video on installing it.

    Thanks for the video....I may be doing the same thing on my SVL95. Only has 500 hours but the front idlers are clunking pretty good. Kind of disappointing if that's all the longer they last.

    • @skidco
      @skidco  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check you gapping on your front idler. There is a weld in shim kit for the 75's. id assume it happens to the 95's as well. I haven't done mine yet but I need to. I was waiting for the shop to be a little warmer. But it drives me crazy. go over uneven ground or a bump and it bangs on one side. And it has done it since new. Finally I found someone that knew about it at Kubota. Ill have a video when I get it done.

    Did this stop the banging noise you talked about in your previous 400 hr reviw? In that video you had mentioned a banging noise since new. I just got a brand new SVL75-2 and there is a banging noise from right front track area while driving straight over any bumps.

    • @skidco
      @skidco  ปีที่แล้ว

      No sir. You need a shim kit for that. There are some weld in shims that you tack weld inside of your front idler wheel housing. I have them, I just haven't had time to do it yet. I didn't know about the shim kit at the time of replacing the idler. My idler had allot of play in it. Machine was really low hour at the time. So I replaced it.
      Ill get the shim kit in one of these weekends. Ill get a video out after that

      @@skidco Thank you very much. Any chance you might have the Kubota part number for the shim kit? I plan on trying your killmat noise solution also.

    My machine has the narrower tracks compared to yours. Do you know if these wider tracks would fit on a narrower track machine ?

    • @skidco
      @skidco  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes. all kubotas have the same frames. you can put wide tracks on a narrow track machine.

    My concern with either 400 or 600 hours which ever it is. Whats Kubota saying the reason for you losing idler wheels and boogie wheel bearings. Just wondering what there thoughts is.

  • @rwc2504
    @rwc2504 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So what indicators did you have to conclude the idler was bad?

    • @skidco
      @skidco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was making a howling and a creeping noise off and on. Then I checked it for play during the walk around video and that confirmed it.

      How’s a good time to turn the track back around 😎

    If you had hauled the machine in would they have done the labor under warranty as well as the part? I know you would have had to wait.

    • @skidco
      @skidco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they would have fixed it. But they are 2-3 weeks out for getting new work in. I wanted to spin my tracks back around anyways. Plus I wanted to check the inside of the frame to check for wear.

    I know you really like the Camso tracks, I'd like to buy a set of them but wondered if I could get by with the stock tracks for my first winter of snow pushing since I just dropped a boatload of greenbacks on the 2022 SVL 75-2 and have to buy a $4000.00 Boss snow box. I value your opinion. Thanks in advance for your input.

    • @skidco
      @skidco  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the block tracks good luck. It won't do long pushes for sure.
      I would plan on getting some sort of zig zag tracks.
      If you look back two years on my channel I have my 65-2 pushing snow. I have really long pushes and it was a very heavy storm that I videoed.

    • @duanemorrison6173
      @duanemorrison6173 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do long pushes in an Amazon parking lot with my L6060. I'm sure it will be the same with the SVL. Did you put the wider SD Camso tracks on?

    What were symptoms of dodgy idler pls? Was it crunching or jamming? How long are they supposed to last?

    If it’s warrantied why mess with it? 😮

    • @skidco
      @skidco  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have time to wait 2 weeks for the shop to get it in. Plus how would I get you guys a video of the repair. I hadn't done one on a Kubota yet and I like knowing what's going on it there. And also wanted to try and figure out the noise.
