I think a lot of the streamers and TH-camrs who reviewed this game only went through it after playing only several hours and were like “cute!” They never realized that there was nothing else and the friendship meter didn’t add to anything else of substance at all. After Stardew Valley, gamers are expecting much more from a game like this regarding the town itself and you can’t go backwards and think you can get away with it without someone calling you out on it. I feel as if I wasted money. It’s a small amount but nonetheless I was tricked. Thank you for the review!
I've been spending way too much on games that people keep praising and have lots of flaws or are just not engaging enough for the price to be worth it. Honest reviews like this one is exactly what I need to stop wasting my money lol. Please keep making them
It is almost fascinating how little impact I felt like I had on the town community. While I love them, flat as they may be because of their very limited dialogue, I never ever felt a part of it even after spending 17 hours playing. They never apologised to me for their initial judgement, there are no birthdays for them or myself, there are no celebratory whole town events like in SoS. It is such a monotonous day-to-day town. The one that was most interesting was Matheo because my existence actually DID impact him; I have displaced his job, taken a good portion of his business and our works are pretty linked. When he tried to leave at the end of his platonic story because of us, that was good. That’s the consequence of my existence. Everyone else could really go about their day to day without me. Once you max their friendship, they are nothing else to offer aside from an invisible tick on a secret list to town upgrades.

This review is pretty spot on. I'm enjoying myself, but it does feel like an early version of an unfinished game. It's relaxing and I enjoy the slowness of it, but there just isn't enough reward for that slowness. I log on a bit, talk to people, play a few in game days and then stop. There just isn't enough to do. I don't mind the minigames being easy. Timing games stress me out and I'm extremely bad at them, imagine if everything in this game was locked behind them! But there should have been a lot more variation. Cooking should have had a purpose. Fishing should have given you more than the same two ingredients - why bother upgrading the fishing pole? It feels like the creators ran out of steam. Maybe the modding community could save it...?
We should be able to grow our own herbal meds, and other requirements for treating patients. The game should have incorporated various calamities (i suggest it to be randomized like flood, fire, typhoon, epidemic and etc which will also depend on the season or weather (yep, kinda sounds like a sandbox/ rpg game)) in which a healthcare will be needed from time to time just to make the game unique and not just another typical rpg game. Also, it would be cool if we can hire some workers/ assistants to nurse some patients and give them orders from time to time. Also, a system to triage patients, put them in isolation or etc. that would be cool, kinda look like having some of those management games. And yes, the game currently is cozy but too boring, I don't feel like I'm at home, I only feel like working, working, and working for the rest of my life.
This is a good review. I briefly saw this game played before and liked the way it looks, but this lets me know I would get tired of the game very quickly.
I remember playing a demo of Potion Permit a while ago before its release. I was put off by the boring mini games which I felt were completely unnecessary and ruined the game. The dog didn't make sense either. Everything else was ok. Needless to say, I never bothered with the game again. Looks like nothing has changed. Thanks for the upload.
The game has its charms, but it's hollow as fuck. They finished the exterior while they ignored the substance. It's like the game didn't have writers or anything.
This game looks interesting it reminds me stardrew valley and graveyard keeper,the only problem that this game should be adding farm crops for planting herbs than just going out look for herbs items

@@sukiplus That makes sense!! Depending on your video editing program you can increase the sound of the audio itself so you dont have to rerecord, thats what I do sometimes to get all my audio around the same level
I hope Little Witch in the Woods is one day released in full and for the Switch. I played the xbox demo and though it had several issues it actually seems to be what Potion Permit wants to be with very similar mechanics and world structure. I feel very similar about Potion Permit however, I wanted to like it a lot, and I do like it as a "pick up and dont' care much about what's going on" game. Not the worst, but not the best.

Quite frankly this is how I feel about Bandle Tales. I love it, but it also frustrates me so much.. it really doesn’t hold your hand at all and struggles to explain what you are meant to get to progress and not struggle figuring what you didn’t do, and very repetitive storyline and quest wise. Someone it reminds me of Potion Permit’s repetitiveness

This is one of the most beautiful graphics in a pixel game, sad it had too much wasted potential.

I agree the game has high expectations, yet we got this instead. If anything the game was just okay for me. When the players were wanted more.
The amount of “ Cozy “ games that are pure, stardew valley copy cats, but with very less gameplay content is huge .
