    Thank you for the time you spent on this video. I just purchased a 'new/never used' M6 from FB marketplace. Despite its described condition and pictures on-line, I could tell that it had been used at least 1 time. Got it home and no squirty squirts were happening. A quick search of Ytube and yours was the first video to exactly match my issue. It was exactly as you described the hose and I was done in less than an hour. YOU ARE THE MAN!!! Saved $325 vs a retail M6.

    Great video. Thanks. That's a peristaltic pump. I think you've helped me solve my problem. My unit isn't blocked, but it doesn't pump enough water even on the highest setting. Therefore the mop dries out quite quickly. Those tubes in the peristaltic pumps often flatten with time and so they don't fill as much. I'm going to change mine.

      That is a Peri pump. I have worked with them for some 30 years and that tube needs to be replaced on a regular basis. Horrifyingly bad design. I cannot see that tube lasting more than a year or two without having to be replaced no matter what you use in it. We would replace these tubes once a year in all of our instruments even if they only pumped water. If you are opening this up you might as well replace the tube. Designed to fail. Roomba gets an F for this. Braava jet 6 will have 100% failure because of this guaranteed. I have one that failed within a year and Roomba replaced it and the replacement is failing after one year.

      If you can hear the pump, it's not burnt out. If the pump hose isn't clogged, and the nozzle is clear....next would be the filter under the tank or the tank itself.

    Every 4 weeks our sprayer’s output starts to reduce. The Tank will start having a little left over… Our hard water begins to clog that small screen that’s below the refill tank. Just pull it out with your fingers and soak it in a little CLR spray for about 10 minutes and then rinse. We only use the BONA hardwood cleaner that’s about $15 for 3/4 gal. We use 1 ounce per tank so the bottle last us 6 months for our 3 mops per week. Also recommend using reusable mop heads and just toss them in the wash.

    Thanks a lot for the video man. This is imo a very bad design. I got mine in 2020, it never worked long. After 6 months it stopped working. DIdn't charge anymore. The charging pins had been totally corroded. The service said it was user damage and refused to replace it. Eventually the shop agreed this was outrageous and they gave me a new one. That one lasted 4 months. THen it stopped spraying as you explained here. Eventually I was given another unit: my 3rd one. That one had the same issue up till today. It works about 4 months and then it stops spraying. Would it be a better idea to replace that little tube which you showed by a metal one?

    Very helpful thank you. I have two, one is as yours is, the other has filter in the pump output line before the nozzle.
    It mounts about where the support is in yours. Looks like they tried to do something about the clogged nozzles.
    We only used their (or Bona) cleaner and still had the pump hose stick. Also we notice crud will grow in the tank and bona mix bottle.
    Which tends to plug the bottom screen. Wonder if a couple drops of bleach in the mix bottle would fix that.

    Can't thank you enough for your video! I got a second hand M6 with the exact same tube residue problem. My tube had a bit more residue than the one in the video and was actually pinched in 2 places. I ended up using a waterpik to flush the tube out. I'm curious though if the "tube sticking" problem only happens with the non-recommended cleaners....

    • @brobots240
      @brobots240  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can confirm this happens with irobot solution and other cleaners, but less likely with irobot solution. The main issue is when the robot sits for an extended amount time with solution in the hose and dries and sticks. I recommend Flushing with straight water if its not going to be used. I personally use a water/vinegar solution and that seems best, but the you have to get over the smell. lol

      @@brobots240 I use water and I have a water softener. Once in a while I will put vinegar some vinegar in there as a mild cleanser. I work with Peri pumps for years I the Peri Tub just wears out. Our R&D tried many many different materials for the tubing and in the end most last about 1 year-ish. The wear out just sitting there not being used because the pump has pressure points that crease the tubing. If you don't use it the crease can become permanent and decrease flow. Thanks for the video. I will tear mine about some time over the next couple of weeks. Mine stopped working again and it is out of warranty now.

      Mine too... It's a plastic unit, transparent, with something that looks like a foam inside, probably to filter whatever is going to the nozzle to not clog it.
      The foam inside itself was even purple, because of the cleaning product that I was using. It was kind of purple-ish. Tried to blow it from one end and it was completely blocked, like 100%, so I'm in process of sucking one end with vinegar, letting it rest inside and blowing it afterwards... When manually blowing, the flow is far better now, the purple color is gone, and I'm planning to start assembling it back.

    The full chain affecting sprayability:
    - the tank has sufficient water level (not very far from being fully empty but still having some water)
    - the tank has no air inside the bottom valve/pump which gets "milked" for water (no air comes out when you press the valve, the air can somehow collect there if some other part in the hydraulic chain doesn't operate properly, like e.g. nozzle being clogged)
    - the tank is properly connected with the robot (the part in center of the filter which gets connected with the tank valve, you need to ensure tank is firmly and securely inserted/pressed into it)
    - the filter is clean
    - the hoses aren't clogged
    - the nozzle is clean

      @aureliepasquier9117 try removing the cap and soaking and cleaning the cap, especially the back middle rubber part (that's the air vent) and that air vent that allows air into the tank as water is let out. Otherwise your tank will hydro lock. ( it's like filling a straw with water and keeping your finger on one end, it doesn't release water from the straw until your finger is removed). Clean that cap, and test your tank again like before

    Hi! Can you please answer this for me? I cleaned my tubes and the manual test worked! The mop worked for the first few sprays then stopped spraying, I figured out that the water is not being pulled from the tank into the little circular mesh liner inside the tank holding space. I don’t know how to fix this! This did not seem to be an issue prior to me taking it apart. The hoses just had debris in it.

    • @brobots240

      Fill the tank and over a sink press the bottom button to release water. See if the tank releases all the water. Of it doesn't, the vent cap on the tank is plugged. If it does, then it's most likely the filter/screen plugged or not installed properly.

    Is it just me or does the root cause really seem to be the lack of air back into the storage tank? I just put a breather hole into a used one I got, absolutely fixed it, except it then leaks onto the floor it seems. Otherwise I see that if I put the storage tank into the unit, it engages the pin in the tank, fills the small filtered reservoir in the unit. The next few sprays work, then dribble. When you take the storage tank out, you can see it's bone dry in the reservoir again.

      Most likely the filter under your tank isn't allowing enough water through. Clean with a brush and blow out, and try again. See if that fixes it. The filter is so fine, sometimes it won't look clogged, but it is, and will cause dribbling.

    • @lukasburke2807
      @lukasburke2807 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I cleaned the filter and blew it out and no luck sprays great for three trips and then dribbles.
      I then poked a whole in the filter so definitely enough water would come through it and same result.
      Im thinking the water container itself isnt releasing enough water.
      I filled the water container with vinegar and manually flushed it out making sure nothing was in there.
      Any suggestions?

    • @brobots240

      @@lukasburke2807 OK, the next thing to check would be the vent that allows air in when water releases. Sounds like it releases a bit of water and gets locked up because air isn't filling the void when water is releases. So fill the tank and over a sink use the filter to push the bottom of the tank release valve in and see if the tank empties completely. If not, you have a venting issue.

  • @vmz1231
    @vmz1231 ปีที่แล้ว

    I for a long time had the issue with robot sometimes stopping spraying the water, until it starts spray again. During one of these times when the robot stopped spraying water at the middle of the mopping job, I stopped it and checked the tank and when I pressed the bottom button it actually released air. The 2nd press released the water. Then I reinstalled the tank and the robot started to spray water again. Could this mean the tank is the cause of the problem? Previously I tried to clean the filter with no apparent effect every time - it could continue not spraying or could start spray again after the cleaning

    • @brobots240
      @brobots240  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If that is happening, it is most likely the vent on the tank not releasing the pressure from water being removed. The cap on the tank doubles as the air vent. Check the cap and the Gasket on the cap.

      @@brobots240 does water level plays any role in a system (maybe it affects pressure?)? I noticed that while the cap was tightened, the problem re-appeared (also with air-releasing from the bottom button, also after rigorous cap retightening). The water level was slightly below the middle, but not at all low and the water level sensor was afloat. After another cap retightening attempt the robot started to throw "fill the tank" error. After I made the tank full and reinstalled - it started to spray normally. I wonder if there is still a problem with a cap, like it can't be tightened fully somehow (the gasket looks ok though), and water level can somehow affect the overall system. Though the tank was emptied fully just at the previous cleaning session with no problems. Could the fact that somehow I persistently "failed to tighten" the cap fully suggest that something is wrong with cap/tank itself?

    • @vmz1231
      @vmz1231 ปีที่แล้ว

      So irobot online store has the tank for sale, essentially with only bad reviews, and for a single issue - leaking tank cap. I guess my problem could be similar, but the cap is not leaking yet, just occasionally passes the air if not rigorously tightened (or unconditionally). The fix is also provided in reviews - use additional o-ring if needed

    • @brobots240
      @brobots240  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vmz1231 The cap doubles as the air vent, to allow air into the tank, as water is released out the bottom. If the tank isn't releasing water or stops, the air vent isn't allowing enough air in, and it will cause water not be released out. Sometimes the air vent on the inside middle of the cap (round rubber button looking) can get stuck or sealed closed from chemical. You can clean that area and also check vent operation by blowing through the front of the cap (you'll notice where you hold to twist the cap closed, there are two indentations on each side, and those are the air inlets for the tank vent). Maybe Ill make a video on that.

      Internal Communication error (Hardware or Software). Can be caused by the irobot losing power during an update, or one of the files being corrupted. In this case you would need to reflash the software on the irobots internal memory, but requires special programing and connection. Lastly is a hardware error. Something inside may have gotten wet and corroded, causing the error. (They arent 100% waterproof)
