I will never forgive that company for what they did to them. Even before Bom's scandal they gave 2NE1 little opportunities. After Bom's scandal they were completely neglected. The 'reflection' time they gave them was understandable for a while but four fucking years? These girls worked so hard and at the end left with NOTHING. How can YG be an idol company and not even give their own signed acts permission to release music? They are so stupid, proud and they cause a lot of unnecessary pain and anxiety to their artists. Why do they need to put them through these hardships? As if the industry and the public weren't harsh enough! I hope all the artists signed under YG leave, they have talent, they deserve better.
@No Name @Nani I think YG, in general, is really not very good at taking care of their talents even when the talents are hot and in-demand. Just look at Blackpink. No other K-Pop girl group is a big as they currently are in the West. They hit jackpot with Ddu-Ddu-Ddu; but what did YG do after Kill This Love? Not launch a comeback soon enough, not even Rose's solo. It's been a year since Kill This Love and Solo. Going back to 2ne1, when they were let go, it's not like their career was in a bad place or was irredeemable. They were still hot as hell. I say that because it is not new for music labels to drop their talents when they are no longer "good investments." No matter how many times they say that it's a family, it's really not. It's a company that was built for making money. After all that was said and done, I wish YG had treated them better. Look at Super Junior. They have been met with controversies, some of the members have been shunned for one reason or another, and a few members left voluntarily. They still make music when they want and have more creative freedom. They are no longer pressured to compete. It seems that they can retire at their own choosing. It would have been great if 2ne1 had a run like that. Heck, it would have been great if all groups who had enjoyed great success without any career-ending scandal to be like Super Junior. Too bad, sigh.
I've never seen any other group who had to cry this much over the mention of their breakup even after years has passed by. Like dude. They always get sentimental whenever their diabandment was brought up. :(
I agree, them being emotional about this reflects their genuinity. This just shows how passionate they are with their group and with their craft. They really loved what they do and it shows to their badass performances full of energy and stage presence. So sad cos you cannot manufacture passion, it's something innate to true artists, but the industry would rather choose visuals and overhyped "skills".

The foundation they have is already solid and they have built enough connection to be able to stand alone even without an agency. The real question in here is when and how much would they want that to happen? Because there are a million ways to make one thing happen if you really want it. What's stopping them now isn't whether they can or can't. They def can. So perhaps, there are many other personal factors involved in this.

Minzy mentioned in Billboard interview that she had a solo album being prepared before I'm the Best era, but was pushed back and then ultimately cancelled due to the opinion of another artist (unnamed) within the label. It saddens me to think about it.
And YG is doing it again with Blackpink's Lisa. :'( its heartbreaking. As Ive followed 2ne1's journey and just this year I got to appreciate their juniors for a long time that 2ne1 was gone. It still hurts watching this at 2021 and maybe it'll hurt me forever.

dara was in Philippines as a judge of a program that time and she cried when she received the news of disbandment. i cried that day too together with millions of blackjacks around the world. and seeing Bom cry with her mouth open, i just relived that day.
Ppl can say what they like but 2ne1 were victims of so many scrutiny. They were considered ugly in Korean standards. They were with a company that experimented on them just so they could form their "ULTIMATE PRETTY GIRL GROUP" who is basically trending for no apparent reason other than being pretty and once their PRETTY GIRLGROUP is successful (no hate to BLACKPINK), 2NE1 was forgotten like that. Due to the strict demands of KPOP stars at these times, I'm pretty it was hard for all of the members to keep themselves in check. They all cared and loved each other deeply but due to circumstances, each member suffered awfully. Park Bom has ADD as well as PTSD from experiencing a friend die in front of her and apparently thinks differently. And thus, she needed stronger medications from America to treat her mental health (she also used to live in America) but since amphetamines was considered illegal in korea and Korea isn't very well educated in mental illnesses like ADD, she was labeled a druggie. And it didn't help that Park Bom was constantly pressured into plastic surgery to make these awful accusations go away and it almost ruined her career as a singer. She was the blame of disbandment and every Korean netizens continued to harass her where she was even afraid to go out and she didn't even have a proper income to support herself. But I am glad Park Bom is back to singing and is better than ever and I wish her the best. Dara was always the black sheep of the group and was always considered the weaker member. Dara has a lot of insecurities as well as an awful family life where her dad abandoned her family and left a huge debt for her family but with Dara's hard work, she was able to pay off those debts. I feel it was hard on her for the fact that she was a huge star in Phillipines and then move back to Korea to pursue her career in singing. She almost didn't make the cut to becoming a 2NE1 member and when she did, ppl only saw Dara as the visual and the weak link. Dara had even expressed that compared to the other members, she wasn't the popular one as she was often left out from fans. I feel Dara had to work the hardest to keep up with her other members and she didn't want to burden them. But seeing how much Dara is doing her best to move on despite missing 2NE1, I am happy that Dara is finding more opportunities and I hope success remains with her for wherever she is. CL has had a lot of responsibility for keeping her members in check. Being a leader at 19 has to be a huge stress on her. CL is full of charisma and energy but I feel she expressed it the best with 2NE1 at her side. Ppl can say that she isn't a good leader but if you understood the members, you can tell why CL was meant to be a leader. Although CL doesn't express herself as much, I can tell CL goes through a lot of hard ships and stress that she doesn't share. She loves the members but also has a tough time expressing it. And what's worst is that after disbandment,CL was literally forgotten and never even allowed to release a single music until 2019. When shit was going bad and she was available, YG turned from her and left her in the dust. But I am glad CL left YG and I can only hope she can release awesome music and be the true queen that she was meant to be. And Minzy, the one fans ignored the most who was called ugly. Minzy, out of all of her members, had the strongest skills in singing, sometimes rapping, and dancing and Minzy has even expressed that she was a extrovert. But being a trainee at a young age at 13, she was treated differently (like an adult). They basically hid MINZY talent and made her become an introvert becuz they wanted the other members to shine more. Minzy was force to grow up and I believe it made Minzy feel like no one would understand her and she never expressed sharing her stress to her members becuz she didn't want to burden them. Minzy has even expressed suicidal thoughts becuz she felt that she was nothing by the end of the day and to be labeled a traitor just becuz she left due to inactivity is just wrong. Like what choice did she have since she was never even going to have her own solo in a corrupted company that promised her so many lies? I am glad that Minzy is doing more now and is having a much better time and can be at peace with all that has happened. Overall, I love my girls and want them all to do better things in life and hopefully an epic 2NE1 reunion can happen. They deserve all the love and respect.

it’s so hard to see them cry knowing our whole life how strong and confident they are… broke my heart into pieces to see bom completely speechless after seeing minzy. being the youngest and had to leave the group bcoz of the horrific attacks that time together with accusations to bom’s medical conditions, those were the darkest and difficult days. just saw the girls on stage last weekend, both days in singapore and i thought i would burst out crying but instead, i was HAPPY so happy that i couldnt stop saying out loud how happy i was to this day. it’s like my inner child was healed from all these nightmares and seeing my unnies all heathy and nothing but the smiles on their faces. 2NE1 is such an inspiration to all those in the kpop industry as well as in real life, to not give up, work hard, taking care and love each other. i love them so much

Their disbandment tore me up. I discovered kpop in 2010 and fell in love solely because of 2NE1. I was obsessed. I liked other artists, but I 100% contributed my interest to Kpop because of them, and felt devastated I would never see them live here in the US.

Their like like the epitomy of being a unique KPop girl group. They were labeled as the “UGLY” group during their time because they were different to other cutesy KPop girl group. But that made them stand out with other groups. They were edgy, badass, full of charisma and stage presence. UNIQUE. They made me realize that its ok to be DIFFERENT. Ikon and epik high are the examples that even if a group leaves yge they can still work on their music together no need to be sad they performed their song as 2ne1 at coachella so they can definitely release the albums too they are not doing it cause of their individual activities no crying 😢 its clear they will comeback if they want to as a group
Ugh this made me cry~ We never know what happened behind the scenes. There was talk that they would continue as three members and I was ready to love them as a three member group and Minzy as a solo but then they disbanded and that broke my heart. Although some groups come back like sechkies and jinusean, it was crazy to me since just a few months before (or a year? my time perception is not great) they had that stage at MAMA where each of the girls came out and DOMINATED~ After bom's scandal, I was scared for them and missed them so seeing that gave me hope and then the disbandment issue came out and they left the spotlight. It's crazy that they only had two full albums but each song became a hit so it seemed like it was more. Shows you how much effort they put into each album to make sure each song is quality for their fans. I know it took a while for each of them to find their bearing, I see them grow as solo artists and come into their own so I have hope that each will continue to dominate and rule each stage they stand on.

2NE1 is the reason why I was hooked by the KPop Music. You know why? Their songs are still current up to this date. They have distinct voices compared to other KPOP groups, which you cannot distinguish who is who.
I cried 3 times watching them all cry. These beautiful and wonderful ladies were treated with SUCH INJUSTICE even if they gave all their heart out for their career. They were mistreated by the korean media, toxic netizens, and YG himself! That's why he's reaping all the bad things he's down. He should've been man enough to defend 2ne1, instead he just throws them like garbage and make his own flirty girlbad. Even so, BLACKJACKS are still on your back 2ne1, WE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU. I had a phase in my teens where I was into kpop and for me 2NE1 were one of a kind, they weren't like a perfect robot group with all the choreos in sync (with all the due respect for the bands nowadays who are also very talented performers). they are all 4 great entertainers in the music industry, and I remember the day their disbandment was announced in 2017 I was studying in my first year of uni in music, listening to then almost every day, and it was such a dark day in the kpop community. a lot of bands disbanded that year but nothing was like the 2NE1 disbandment. and when Minzy left YG it was horrible, people were calling her a traitor as she mentions and I mean... at that point they were on hiatus since 2014 I think, and YG never gave a damn about Minzy, so she had basically no activities. I mean when you're an artist you want to be working on it every day, having the dream of being a musician is something so powerful that it can become dangerous. I know that when I'm not working in music I get bored and even depressed, imagine stopping for that long when your job is just that. how hard must it been for her to take that huge step and just basically start on her own almost from the bottom, when a lot of people stopped supporting her. I got a lot of respect for her when she did that and released her new music, she's so talented, that girl is a dance machine! and she's also such a great singer, which was always so overshadowed for some (stupid, I imagine) reason. I can't even begin to express the injustice for her especially, but also the other girls. you can tell they did not want to go their separate ways, and it's so sad that these 4 talented ladies had to go through what they did. instead, YG had to call BLACKPINK the pretty version of 2NE1 and install a rivalry between 2 amazing groups and 8 beautifully talented ladies, which unfortunalety some fans still instigate. just sad
2ne1 didn't disband in 2016 ..it was in 2017...bp debuted in 2016 and the members have been training since 2010(Jennie) .. BP was not there to replace 2ne1...bp were always gonn debut whether 2ne1 disbanded or not... infact bp(or formerly known as pink punk) was formed as an answer to snsd and not to rival or replace 2ne1...it's sad to see the two fandoms fight each other till this day

They were such a hit and the ultimate gurl crush icons of all time and NO GIRL GROUPS can ever beat them EVER! I see so many GGs but none of them even come close to 2ne1 as an artist and as a group packed with too much talent at once. 2NE1's disbandment was probably the most heartbreaking disbandment i've ever seen. The girls still wanted to perform together. I hope one day they can make a reunion or something. I will always wait for them to come back.

This is so painful to watch.. i have heard of them before their disbandmenr but never paid attention, kpop was not yet a thing back then especially in our corner of the country. It still is not a phenomenon(k-drama was and always is,kpop has not penetrated the gp i guess) I mean to be disbanded against their will? The korean public basically turning their back on bom? And the consequences of that aftermath... Dang.. I thought they were "just another girlgroup" but they really live up to the hype and attention they got. I do hope they each will succeed abundantly as an individual if not as a group.

I am not a KPOP fan. It would be dishonor to real FANS if I call myself a FAN when I only like 2ne1, and some songs of Super Junior, Blackpink, EXO, and BTS. But everything about 2ne1 makes me cry, more so DARA! Cant we just have a reunion please?!? Even just a performance or 1 new song?!? This is too much!
I'm calling it. Once Dara leaves Trash-G, we will get a reunion. It's clear the members never wanted the disbandment. Disbanding and not fully supporting Bom were YG's biggest crimes.

Instead they hide her for years. * Promising them a summer comeback as a trio. They said that the album is finished and also shot an MV. * Instantly disbanding them, Dara was on Philippines at that time for a show and we saw the BTS she’s sad and crying. * Delaying CL’s american album, blocking CL’s gigs. Neglecting CL to the point that she comments on YG’s “How about me boss? Reply to my message”. * Not giving Minzy anything during their long time hiatus, until she decided to leave. * Dara also not getting a single or an album. * Making Bom as a scapegoat to their disbandment. Telling to media that she’s not mentally fine. When Bom have an IG live, one fan said that if she’s sick or not fine, Bom said that she’s totally ok. Bom still seen at YG after their disbandment, and said that she’s signed in The Black Label. Which she confirmed on social media also (IG live I think) one fan asked is she’s signed to the Black Label and she said “yes” cause she was seen some pics on music studio. But YG denied it and said that Bom is not connected to YG nor BL anymore. They made her a LAIR. They just threw Bom at the bus just like that. And many more… 💔

I feel like with the potential of 2ne1. Like I feel they will eventually have a real comeback done in their way hopefully NOT with yg maybe someone in the US who won't screw them over. And we won't have to wait so long for comebacks. I will never forgive that company for what they did to them. Even before Bom's scandal they gave 2NE1 little opportunities. After Bom's scandal they were completely neglected. The 'reflection' time they gave them was understandable for a while but four fucking years? These girls worked so hard and at the end left with NOTHING. How can YG be an idol company and not even give their own signed acts permission to release music? They are so stupid, proud and they cause a lot of unnecessary pain and anxiety to their artists. Why do they need to put them through these hardships? As if the industry and the public weren't harsh enough! I hope all the artists signed under YG leave, they have talent, they deserve better.

No other K-Pop girl group is a big as they currently are in the West. They hit jackpot with Ddu-Ddu-Ddu; but what did YG do after Kill This Love? Not launch a comeback soon enough, not even Rose's solo. It's been a year since Kill This Love and Solo.
Going back to 2ne1, when they were let go, it's not like their career was in a bad place or was irredeemable. They were still hot as hell. I say that because it is not new for music labels to drop their talents when they are no longer "good investments." No matter how many times they say that it's a family, it's really not. It's a company that was built for making money.
After all that was said and done, I wish YG had treated them better. Look at Super Junior. They have been met with controversies, some of the members have been shunned for one reason or another, and a few members left voluntarily. They still make music when they want and have more creative freedom. They are no longer pressured to compete. It seems that they can retire at their own choosing. It would have been great if 2ne1 had a run like that. Heck, it would have been great if all groups who had enjoyed great success without any career-ending scandal to be like Super Junior. Too bad, sigh.

Ppl can say what they like but 2ne1 were victims of so many scrutiny. They were considered ugly in Korean standards. They were with a company that experimented on them just so they could form their "ULTIMATE PRETTY GIRL GROUP" who is basically trending for no apparent reason other than being pretty and once their PRETTY GIRLGROUP is successful (no hate to BLACKPINK), 2NE1 was forgotten like that.
Due to the strict demands of KPOP stars at these times, I'm pretty it was hard for all of the members to keep themselves in check. They all cared and loved each other deeply but due to circumstances, each member suffered awfully.
Park Bom has ADD as well as PTSD from experiencing a friend die in front of her and apparently thinks differently. And thus, she needed stronger medications from America to treat her mental health (she also used to live in America) but since amphetamines was considered illegal in korea and Korea isn't very well educated in mental illnesses like ADD, she was labeled a druggie. And it didn't help that Park Bom was constantly pressured into plastic surgery to make these awful accusations go away and it almost ruined her career as a singer. She was the blame of disbandment and every Korean netizens continued to harass her where she was even afraid to go out and she didn't even have a proper income to support herself. But I am glad Park Bom is back to singing and is better than ever and I wish her the best.
Dara was always the black sheep of the group and was always considered the weaker member. Dara has a lot of insecurities as well as an awful family life where her dad abandoned her family and left a huge debt for her family but with Dara's hard work, she was able to pay off those debts. I feel it was hard on her for the fact that she was a huge star in Phillipines and then move back to Korea to pursue her career in singing. She almost didn't make the cut to becoming a 2NE1 member and when she did, ppl only saw Dara as the visual and the weak link. Dara had even expressed that compared to the other members, she wasn't the popular one as she was often left out from fans. I feel Dara had to work the hardest to keep up with her other members and she didn't want to burden them. But seeing how much Dara is doing her best to move on despite missing 2NE1, I am happy that Dara is finding more opportunities and I hope success remains with her for wherever she is.
CL has had a lot of responsibility for keeping her members in check. Being a leader at 19 has to be a huge stress on her. CL is full of charisma and energy but I feel she expressed it the best with 2NE1 at her side. Ppl can say that she isn't a good leader but if you understood the members, you can tell why CL was meant to be a leader. Although CL doesn't express herself as much, I can tell CL goes through a lot of hard ships and stress that she doesn't share. She loves the members but also has a tough time expressing it. And what's worst is that after disbandment,CL was literally forgotten and never even allowed to release a single music until 2019. When shit was going bad and she was available, YG turned from her and left her in the dust. But I am glad CL left YG and I can only hope she can release awesome music and be the true queen that she was meant to be.
And Minzy, the one fans ignored the most who was called ugly. Minzy, out of all of her members, had the strongest skills in singing, sometimes rapping, and dancing and Minzy has even expressed that she was a extrovert. But being a trainee at a young age at 13, she was treated differently (like an adult). They basically hid MINZY talent and made her become an introvert becuz they wanted the other members to shine more. Minzy was force to grow up and I believe it made Minzy feel like no one would understand her and she never expressed sharing her stress to her members becuz she didn't want to burden them. Minzy has even expressed suicidal thoughts becuz she felt that she was nothing by the end of the day and to be labeled a traitor just becuz she left due to inactivity is just wrong. Like what choice did she have since she was never even going to have her own solo in a corrupted company that promised her so many lies? I am glad that Minzy is doing more now and is having a much better time and can be at peace with all that has happened.
Overall, I love my girls and want them all to do better things in life and hopefully an epic 2NE1 reunion can happen. They deserve all the love and respect.

it’s so hard to see them cry knowing our whole life how strong and confident they are… broke my heart into pieces to see bom completely speechless after seeing minzy. being the youngest and had to leave the group bcoz of the horrific attacks that time together with accusations to bom’s medical conditions, those were the darkest and difficult days. just saw the girls on stage last weekend, both days in singapore and i thought i would burst out crying but instead, i was HAPPY so happy that i couldnt stop saying out loud how happy i was to this day. it’s like my inner child was healed from all these nightmares and seeing my unnies all heathy and nothing but the smiles on their faces.

Ugh this made me cry~ We never know what happened behind the scenes. There was talk that they would continue as three members and I was ready to love them as a three member group and Minzy as a solo but then they disbanded and that broke my heart. Although some groups come back like sechkies and jinusean, it was crazy to me since just a few months before (or a year? my time perception is not great) they had that stage at MAMA where each of the girls came out and DOMINATED~ After bom's scandal, I was scared for them and missed them so seeing that gave me hope and then the disbandment issue came out and they left the spotlight. It's crazy that they only had two full albums but each song became a hit so it seemed like it was more. Shows you how much effort they put into each album to make sure each song is quality for their fans. I know it took a while for each of them to find their bearing, I see them grow as solo artists and come into their own so I have hope that each will continue to dominate and rule each stage they stand on.

I had a phase in my teens where I was into kpop and for me 2NE1 were one of a kind, they weren't like a perfect robot group with all the choreos in sync (with all the due respect for the bands nowadays who are also very talented performers). they are all 4 great entertainers in the music industry, and I remember the day their disbandment was announced in 2017 I was studying in my first year of uni in music, listening to then almost every day, and it was such a dark day in the kpop community. a lot of bands disbanded that year but nothing was like the 2NE1 disbandment. and when Minzy left YG it was horrible, people were calling her a traitor as she mentions and I mean... at that point they were on hiatus since 2014 I think, and YG never gave a damn about Minzy, so she had basically no activities. I mean when you're an artist you want to be working on it every day, having the dream of being a musician is something so powerful that it can become dangerous. I know that when I'm not working in music I get bored and even depressed, imagine stopping for that long when your job is just that. how hard must it been for her to take that huge step and just basically start on her own almost from the bottom, when a lot of people stopped supporting her. I got a lot of respect for her when she did that and released her new music, she's so talented, that girl is a dance machine! and she's also such a great singer, which was always so overshadowed for some (stupid, I imagine) reason. I can't even begin to express the injustice for her especially, but also the other girls. you can tell they did not want to go their separate ways, and it's so sad that these 4 talented ladies had to go through what they did. instead, YG had to call BLACKPINK the pretty version of 2NE1 and install a rivalry between 2 amazing groups and 8 beautifully talented ladies, which unfortunalety some fans still instigate. just sad
2ne1 didn't disband in 2016 ..it was in 2017...bp debuted in 2016 and the members have been training since 2010(Jennie) .. BP was not there to replace 2ne1...bp were always gonn debut whether 2ne1 disbanded or not... infact bp(or formerly known as pink punk) was formed as an answer to snsd and not to rival or replace 2ne1...it's sad to see the two fandoms fight each other till this day
It breaks my heart so much to see them cry like this and also because what happened to them was so unfortunate. They were such a hit and the ultimate gurl crush icons of all time and NO GIRL GROUPS can ever beat them EVER! I see so many GGs but none of them even come close to 2ne1 as an artist and as a group packed with too much talent at once. Even male idols respect that for their strength, power and aura as strong female artists. They are beyond every girl group before or now and forever! Tonight as I watch this video, I cannot stop my tears from falling down continuously because it hurts to see them again in the screen but not as a group. YG did so dirty these women.. so powerful, so strong... I just miss them way too much..

Honestly i know about those videos but i don't have a courage to watch it. CUZ IT HURTS BADLY! Im a big fan since 2009 and watching their struggle from the beginning until the end it's so unfair. I don't know why but i feel so sad not for myself as a fan, but for my queens. 2NE1's disbandment was probably the most heartbreaking disbandment i've ever seen. The girls still wanted to perform together. I hope one day they can make a reunion or something. I will always wait for them to come back.

I'm calling it. Once Dara leaves Trash-G, we will get a reunion. It's clear the members never wanted the disbandment. Disbanding and not fully supporting Bom were YG's biggest crimes.

There’s a lot of reasons.
* Calling them ugly in their early years.
* Not protecting Bom during her scandal. Instead they hide her for years.
* Promising them a summer comeback as a trio.
They said that the album is finished and also shot an MV.
* Instantly disbanding them, Dara was on Philippines at that time for a show and we saw the BTS she’s sad and crying.
* Delaying CL’s american album, blocking CL’s gigs. Neglecting CL to the point that she comments on YG’s “How about me boss? Reply to my message”.
* Not giving Minzy anything during their long time hiatus, until she decided to leave.
* Dara also not getting a single or an album.
* Making Bom as a scapegoat to their disbandment. Telling to media that she’s not mentally fine.
When Bom have an IG live, one fan said that if she’s sick or not fine, Bom said that she’s totally ok.
Bom still seen at YG after their disbandment, and said that she’s signed in The Black Label. Which she confirmed on social media also (IG live I think) one fan asked is she’s signed to the Black Label and she said “yes” cause she was seen some pics on music studio.
But YG denied it and said that Bom is not connected to YG nor BL anymore. They made her a LAIR. They just threw Bom at the bus just like that.

They had a MASSIVE impact and their song goodbye has got to be one of the best last kpop ending songs I've heard from a band that is disbanding so sad the song goodbye. Also they are one of the best selling girl groups of all time with over 65 million records sold and even beat most kpop/us girl groups of all time. Ranking at #3 for best selling girl group of all time. Beating groups like TLC, little mix, bananarama, destiny's child,girls generation, swv, en vogue, pointer sisters, pcat dolls etc... That's honestly so interesting but not suprising numbers don't lie. As they should be one of the best selling girl groups of all time.
I can't believe 2ne1 only have 2 full albums but that 2 albums is full of hits.
