Thanks the video was very helpful. It did make a big difference I also changed the spark plugs as well and it's really running strong a big big difference thank you again
Nice to see your view of those plastic clips. Plastic clips always seem to break in my hands, only after broken do you get a good view of how they work.
LOL plastic and me dont always seem to get along but today was one of those day I thought forsure the sensor shaft was going to snap off inside :) Cheers Dave
Intermittent problems are the hard one to find especially when your on the road and just sometimes.... Never herd of cleaning them,.... Never even ever looked at mine....must check to find it in my truck....good video....CHEERS
Mine is a 2002 and I know all the sensors can only last so long so sometimes it's best to change out the ones easily accessed to prevent a breakdown on the road.
@@SteveRobReviews I think about six years ago I change the crank sensor but it was just a leak in the connector and it changed the resistance....CHEERS
My money is on you, Steve! As far as I'm concerned, you made the right decision. After 300K and the way that sensor looked. It was time for replacement anyway.
Rick its running great . 2002 so its time for a new one soon and the wifey will get to drive the 2010 F150 , she says driving the 2500hd is like being in a cattle truck 😅😅
Nice fix (hopefully)Steve , when ever I a sensor caked with carbon it gets replaced , just like if i see a oil pressure sensor dripping oil it automatically gets replaced.
This code commonly makes the vehicle idle to high while stopped and I have seen this code cause a ton of problems were it has no balls during acceleration between 20 and 50 mph depending on the vehicle especially when it's cold these sensors like warmer weather
@@SteveRobReviews no problem at all good to see ya haven't seen ya channel in awhile it popped up on suggestions figured I would show ya channel some love
My 03 1500hd 6.0 is idling at 900 when warmed up in all gears. Doesnt matter in park/drive whatever. New throttle body and position sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
@DusterNutbar Most likely a vaccum leak somewhere. New throttle body may need to be recalibrated if no vaccum leaks . I'd start looking for vaccum leaks , look at fuel trims for clues and O2 sensor readings as well. No codes mentioned so there is a start.
@DusterNutbar A tune would never demand a 900 rpm idle. You could try disconnecting the battery , let it sit for 20 minutes and then connect the battery and let the ecm start from scratch and relearn and see if it corrects anything . Might be worth a try , turn everything off , no ac , turn everything off .
That sounds like most of my trucks ! How would you know that what caused it~! Excellent Job Steve I Changed vehicles this week It was time hope I'm happy with my newer ride It is 4 wheel drive that was a big positive!
Had a 2013 it was a nightmare The old 92 Chevy it replaced was a better truck at 25 years and 90K miles burned about as much oil to and the 92 had leaking valve seals Guy I sold the 92 to still have it and still loves the truck 7 years later
It does seem manufacturers like to bring out new technology thats not quite up to par every 10 years . I see the same going on with electric vehicles too. I like to stay away from new technology but today it's all new it seems .
How's she goin'? That sensor sure looks like it could be the culprit. Lots of carbon on it and after 300K I guess it doesn't owe you anything eh!!! Great tips, Steve. $80 is cheap compared to being stopped by the side of the road. Thank you for the video. Stay safe and stay cool
I dont think a shop would even diagnose it for $80 :)

Thanks for watching Alvaro 👍

300k 😳 the sensor has done its job Steve makes sense putting a new OEM one , intermittent issues always fun 👍 cheers
Been a while and its running great , cheers Igor.
Good to see you're well my friend

I hate intermittent issues! 😫 Good job Steve! Always go for original parts 👍
Thanks Niamh I've had my share of intermittents were throwing parts at it has resulted in failure but this time its a win and I'm tickled pink . 😅
Had this code on my 2007 ford five hundred ended up being one connector from the EGR that goes to the back of the intake manifold was off

Nice job, Steve.
Thanks Bill.

It was not very driveable at all really but at low speed just to crawl home.
@@SteveRobReviews defenitly a frustrating code for the driver
Hopes this solves the problem. Too good a truck to fool around with aftermarket junk! Well done
Victor its running like new again. Going to replace the Silverado soon and give this one away to a good home.
Great there help Steve, it only cost a little more to go first cost.
Sometimes the repair is a new part as compared to a cleaned part
that ends up being a temporary fix . Cheers Lloyd

A scan tool will display desired rpm and actual rpm so if the desired is about 300 less the truck can't correct .
hey steve....the ac delco pro may or not be the oem its a quality part though...that code might set from the dip caused by a maf or fuel pressure
Well its running perfect and logically at 300K I can expect to have some sensors go out. Cheers
Good call, would do the same. But Back in the day would have cleaned it 5 or 6 times before getting a new one. Hope it works.
Its running great Joe , cleaning is an option forsure. Cheers.
Better watch out! Scotty will think you're trying to steal his gig!
LOL I have a long way to go to compete with scotty plus he's 25 years older than I .

Code reader displaying a code was the start of the diagnosis. Newer or new , 4x4 sure comes in handy.
Nice diag Steve! And SMA worthy. Yeah 300000 I'd just change it also!
For SMA this would be a blooper LOL Thanks Mike
300k and 2002 and it hasn't rotted out yet in ontairo thats impressive
Jerry I had visions of it snapping off at the base but I talked dirty to the sensor and its almost fell out on its own 😅
@@SteveRobReviews having it snap off and fall inside would suck indeed, at least the manifold is easy to remove if it ever did
Thanks Steve!

Smart idea Steve. Why mess around with this cleaning it and you could still have problems with it especially for that price. Thanks Buddy!
My thoughts exactly Doug as the cost savings might be real expensive second time around.
Trim tool to the rescue! Made in the USA! Not good to be plugged up! Good info for people Steve.

Good chance that will fix you up. Lots of carbon and with 300K on the sensor, you probably got the culprit.

I always hate it when a problem comes and goes. A new sensor is the only way to do it.
