I lost all my grandparents by the time I was 19. I grew up seeing my nan and pop everyday after school and for hours each day of the weekend. The connection you have with grandparents is so incredibly special. I got my love of baking and cooking from my nan, in the last few years of my pop's life I loved cooking for them, I was able to give back something after all they had given me. After my pop died, my nan went into an aged care home but I would still make desserts for her, in her final year she would only really eat custard and jelly. It is the hardest thing in the world watching someone, who has meant so much your whole life, slowly fade away.
Stacy I’m so so sorry about your grandfather. It’s such a hard time for families right now and I’m sorry you have to go through this right now if all times. I hope that the next few days are okay for you and everyone is here for you while you go through this. Losing a family member is never easy and I give you all my sympathy.

I am so so sorry about your grandfather. To lose a loved one, under normal circumstances, is hard enough, but during a time when you cant even visit/really mourn as a family, is just so much worse. My heart hurts for you and your family. 💔 I cared for my mom, she had alzheimers/vascular dementia, and no matter how much you tell yourself you know it's coming and no matter how much you've prepared for it, it doesn't make it easier. I lost her May 2019 and not a day goes by where I don't cry. It's never enough time together. She's with my Dad now though, so I'm happy for them.

I want to thank you for sharing. My grandmother is in advanced stages of dementia, so I constantly worry I will not see her again. I also have a terminally ill father that I was able to see last month after completing a two week self isolation. While I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to see one of them, the unrelenting uncertainty of "what's next?" has been unbearable. By sharing your experience, it helps others like myself feel a little less alone and a bit more prepared on what to expect. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for the loss of all of your grandparents, Stacy. I am kind of envious in a way, that you got a bond with loving and wise grandparents that made an impact on your life. On my mother's side, my grandfather died shortly after I was born. My grandmother died when I was around 7 or 8 I believe. On my father's side, my grandfather died before I was born. I still have one grandparent, a grandmother, who is still alive but she pretty much ignores her family. Asides from them being my grandparents, they were all destructive and negative people, not folks you could learn valuable lessons from. The term "grandparent" sadly doesn't have that emotional ring to me as it does for some. You were blessed, Stacy, to have grandparents who loved you and gave you wonderful memories and taught you some worthwhile things. To a lot of people, having grandparents like that may seem like a super common thing that everyone has. But it isn't. So if you have healthy, loving relationships with your grandparents, cherish it. Its less common and more precious than you know 💜
My parents and I took care of my maternal grandmother for seven years while she battled alzheimer's disease. A few days after she passed, my Dad was diagnosed with alzheimer's as well (his mother died of it too; it has ravaged our family). :( That was back in 2014. Now we're taking care of my Dad, who no longer knows my name. I'm so sorry for your loss, Stacy. Your vlog and gaming videos have gotten me through a lot over the past few years. Our grandma is in her 80's and is living with us. She's so funny and a happy, giving person. Her health wasn't good last year, but it's gotten better! My mom died two years ago. It was rather sudden, and the last time I saw or heard her speak was in the ER before she was transferred to the other hospital. She was unresponsive when we said goodbye to her. My little brother still really misses her. And he said he wants to put a gift under the tree this year for her, to remember her so he can get a feel of what it was like having Christmas with her. Our mom's sister, our aunt, her health isn't doing well at all. It's scary to think about, but this could possibly be her last Christmas! Maybe. So, we're trying to make it nice for her as much as possible even though we can't really go see her. I'm so sorry your had to lose someone so close to you, especially now and the way it happened. Praying for this COVID to end! Stay safe and healthy, Stace!

My grandmother currently has covid, it spread through her care facility about 4 weeks ago. Thankfully she has been asymptomatic but is still quarantining at a different facility until she tests negative 2 weeks in a row. It so disheartening only having contact with her through a window. It's even more difficult seeing the stress my grandfather is going through. I'm so sorry for your loss Stacy. This pandemic is tough, especially on the elderly and their caregivers.

I am so sorry for your lost and through your videos we were able to see how close you are to your family and how much you care for them. Your Grandfather and your dad look so much alike! So many of us are different ages and come from different backgrounds. You have been a positive influence on all of us. I went through really tough times and even though your videos are geared towards kids, you helped me through really hard times. I hope that you know that so many of us do care and love you dearly. I want to thank you for sharing. My grandmother is in advanced stages of dementia, so I constantly worry I will not see her again. I also have a terminally ill father that I was able to see last month after completing a two week self isolation. While I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to see one of them, the unrelenting uncertainty of "what's next?" has been unbearable. By sharing your experience, it helps others like myself feel a little less alone and a bit more prepared on what to expect. I am so sorry for your loss.

Grandparents are such a blessing and I'm so lucky to have had them in my mid 20s. Although my grandfather was my last grandparent to be alive I'm very thankful that all four of my grandparents didn't have to live through these troubling times. I'm so sorry for the loss of all of your grandparents, Stacy. I am kind of envious in a way, that you got a bond with loving and wise grandparents that made an impact on your life.
On my mother's side, my grandfather died shortly after I was born. My grandmother died when I was around 7 or 8 I believe.
On my father's side, my grandfather died before I was born. I still have one grandparent, a grandmother, who is still alive but she pretty much ignores her family.
Asides from them being my grandparents, they were all destructive and negative people, not folks you could learn valuable lessons from. The term "grandparent" sadly doesn't have that emotional ring to me as it does for some.
You were blessed, Stacy, to have grandparents who loved you and gave you wonderful memories and taught you some worthwhile things. To a lot of people, having grandparents like that may seem like a super common thing that everyone has. But it isn't. So if you have healthy, loving relationships with your grandparents, cherish it. Its less common and more precious than you know 💜

My parents and I took care of my maternal grandmother for seven years while she battled alzheimer's disease. A few days after she passed, my Dad was diagnosed with alzheimer's as well (his mother died of it too; it has ravaged our family). :( That was back in 2014. Now we're taking care of my Dad, who no longer knows my name. I'm so sorry for your loss, Stacy. Your vlog and gaming videos have gotten me through a lot over the past few years. I can't thank you enough. Warm, wintery Christmas hugs from all of your fans. As we all struggle with life's challenges, your honesty helps us feel that much less alone. Your grandparents are beautiful souls. P.s. I think the fact your maternal grandparents ran a farm in their 90's is so amazing and inspiring!

Our grandma is in her 80's and is living with us. She's so funny and a happy, giving person. Her health wasn't good last year, but it's gotten better!
My mom died two years ago. It was rather sudden, and the last time I saw or heard her speak was in the ER before she was transferred to the other hospital. She was unresponsive when we said goodbye to her. My little brother still really misses her. And he said he wants to put a gift under the tree this year for her, to remember her so he can get a feel of what it was like having Christmas with her.
Our mom's sister, our aunt, her health isn't doing well at all. It's scary to think about, but this could possibly be her last Christmas! Maybe. So, we're trying to make it nice for her as much as possible even though we can't really go see her.
I'm so sorry your had to lose someone so close to you, especially now and the way it happened. Praying for this COVID to end!

My grandmother currently has covid, it spread through her care facility about 4 weeks ago. Thankfully she has been asymptomatic but is still quarantining at a different facility until she tests negative 2 weeks in a row. It so disheartening only having contact with her through a window. It's even more difficult seeing the stress my grandfather is going through. I'm so sorry for your loss Stacy. This pandemic is tough, especially on the elderly and their caregivers.
