As a general rule builder gel comes both hard and soft. Hard gel requires file off softgel can be soaked off. Builder in a jar is usually a hard builder. Builder in a bottle is usually a soft builder which is soaked off.
Hard gel means you can’t soak it off. Solid hard gels are used for full cover nails. Hard gel builders are the best for sculpting and building a nail.
If you've been a nail tech for thirty one years, you should know what hard gel is. Hard gel does not soak off. You're thinking of non stick extension gel that is firm.

Hi there! You are misinformed about what hard gel is. Hard gel can be of any consistency from very runny to very stiff. It is non porous when cured and must be filed off rather than soaked off. I believe that what you are referring to is solid builder gel. You seem to be confusing solid gel for hard gel. From one tech to another, I hope that this explanation helps! For anyone else reading this comment, this brand has NOT mislabeled their gels. These are indeed hard builder gels, so please don't go and bug the company.

From my understanding, this "hard gel" isn't supposed to be "hard" because i bought some and thought the same thing before.... But also just in case, because i learned the hatd way..... Hard gel doesn't soak off, it has to be filed off usually with an E file or with a hand file.... I bought some of this from IBD and soaked it forever and nothing really..... Also, i just found you today and thank you for this video because I've been looking at these kits.... Edited to say i started laughing because I made comment and then continued to watch the rest of the video and at 4 minutes in you said it reminded you of IBD gel.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
