The Exchange Made At The Cross 1008
I. Introduction
Is. 53:6-At the cross, Jesus, the Son of God, took upon Himself all the evil due by justice to the sons of Adam, that in return the sons of Adam might receive all the good due by eternal right to Jesus, the Son of God.
II. Review First Three Aspects Of This Exchange:
A. Is. 53:5-Wounded for our transgressions . . . bruised for our iniquities . . . that
we might receive peace (forgiveness, reconciliation)
B. Is.53:4-5-Boreoursicknesses...carriedourpains...thatwemightbehealed
C. Is. 53:10; 2 Cor. 5:21-Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be
made righteous with His righteousness.
III.Further Aspects Of The Exchange:
D. Is. 53:10-It was the Lord’s will to bruise Him unto sickness. Compare:
1. Mic. 6:13-I will make Thee sick in smiting Thee. Jesus was made sick with our “sickfulness” that we might be made whole with His health.
2. Is. 1:5-6-A picture of Israel as God saw them in their backslidden condition: Religious but rebellious and corrupt. Also an exact picture of the body of
Jesus on the cross, because He was identified with our rebellion and bore its
consequences.
3. Is. 52:13-15-A further picture of the extreme physical sufferings of Jesus,
also of His subsequent exaltation, and of the benefits of His death made
available to all nations.
4. Acts 3:16-The result: Perfect soundness through His name
a. Distinguish between sicknesses or diseases (plural), and sickness (singular)
b. Ex. 15:26-I will put none of these diseases (plural)
c. Ex. 23:25-I will take away sickness (singular)
5. Deut. 7:15-Both blessings promised: The Lord will take away all sickness
(singular), and will put none of the evils diseases (plural)
E. Gal. 3:13-14-Christ hast redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us . . . that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through
Jesus Christ
1. Christ received the curse due to us for God’s broken law, that we might
receive the blessings due to Christ’s obedience.
2. Gal. 3:10-If you seek to keep the law, you must observe the whole law
continually. Otherwise you come under a curse.
3. Deut. 28:2-13-The blessings: fruitfulness; abundance; protection; direction;
victory; success; holiness; honor; riches; dominion.
a. Many Christians are enduring a curse when they should be enjoying a
blessing.
b. If you walk in obedience, the blessings “overtake” you.
4. Ps. 23:3, 6-In the “paths of righteousness,” goodness and mercy “follow”
you
5. Deut. 28:16-68-The curses: unfruitfulness; insufficiency; frustration;
failure; defeat; bondage; poverty; fear; every form of sickness both mental and
physical. Contrast:
6. Ps. 1:1-3-Whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. No room for failure
F. 2 Cor. 8:9-For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.
1. Jesus was made poor with our poverty, that we might be rich with His wealth
2. Grace has one channel, Jesus Christ; one basis, the cross; one administrator,
the Holy Spirit
3. Deut. 28:47-God’s will: to serve Him with joyfulness and gladness for the
abundance of all things
4. Deut. 28:48-The alternatives:
a. To serve your enemies in hunger, thirst, nakedness, want of all things.
This is absolute poverty.
b. Jesus literally endured all these things on the cross. The result for us:
c. 2 Cor. 9:8-And God is able to make all grace abound towards you; that
ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to all good works.
So sad we have no teachers like Derek in the land
Listening to these teachings I marvel how much truth the devil has been hiding from the body of Christ!! Thank God for those who have been knowing it but as for me these teachings are a real eye opener
Jesse I have listened to Andrew Woneka , I have read his books and he has churches in my city. But it looks as if the spirit behind his ministry despite the miracles is a wrong spirit. The kind that has capacity to pose as an angel of light. I could be wrong but at least the people in his church in my city have confirmed my perception
Which bandwagon are you talking about iam not aware of any!!! I have been reading Andrew's work as a focused and sensitive Christian and that is what the spirit of God within me tells me. Before unleashing the apparent wrath why don't you take time to pray about it. One month you have been with them is probably not long enough to put up such a spirited defance
@Jessie Rey this is my last comment to you. Andrew is a cult though he could have started well. The fact that you are vigorously defending him is typical of cult members. I am not a lukewarm Christian as you put it in fact you are. Instead of studying the Bible you are studying Andrew's works just typical of cults. Why on earth all this defence because you could have been blinded. I believe that Jesus Christ became man for my sake . was crucified on the cross to atone for my inequity and by faith I appropriate his righteousness. As for your Andrew wonecha you can go on defending him as long as you can me I know Jesus Christ and him I don't defend he defends himself I only believe in him and his promises to me through his word and I have seen him fulfil them to me.
Before and after you read the Holy Bible,pray. Pray for devine understanding,that only comes through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

This is an excellent teaching we all need to hear. I read Derek's book "Blessings & Curses, you choose" and it was excellent and very helpful. In fact, just a few weeks ago I gave this book to a brother who has had many problems and a stroke has left him partially paralyzed. I'm praying that any curse coming against him is broken!

The Exchange made at the cross - The exchange is that Jesus took upon Himself our punishment because of our sinfulness upon the cross that we instead would receive His righteousness. Jesus became our kinsman redeemer meaning that He took upon Himself our nature, our place and our punishment. The cross was the place of exchange that we might have peace, forgiveness and reconciliation. II Corinthians 5:21 Isaiah 53:5-6 Jesus was made sick with all our sicknesses that we might be made whole with His health. Isaiah 53:10 Isaiah 1:5-6

As Christians, we have to face ennemies that might be sent against us ; on one hand by Satan enticing us to temptation because we're serving God. And on the other hand by God because we weren't serving him with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things. Is this a correct understanding of Christian life ? And how can we discern which ennemy (demon) comes from God or from Satan side ?
Please tell me where the Bible tells us that Jesus suffered in Hell. Before He died, He said, It is finished. I take that literally. I have always believed that Christ went to Sheol to set the captives free and to take the keys of Hades and Death.
Derek prince must have banked a lot of money from his ministry, I notice that he doesn’t expound on prosperity as a spiritual wealth. Prosperity on spiritual gifts is what all believers and the church needs.
I noticed he was linked to the Christian-zionist movement as was Kathryn Kuhlman, Benny Hinn, etc. I think we might trace the money flux they banked through all the donations, books sellings, etc. they harvest. Most of people listenning to their sermons don't even realize this hidden or occult political aspect of their ministry roleplay...
