Since I'm getting a lot of comments about damage, let me try and clear some things up. -1. No, this did not get nerfed and it probably won't since it's not doing game breaking damage and doesn't use mainstream meta gear.- 2. Levels affect damage. If you're using the same exact things as me but are doing less damage, it's probably because you're a lower level. 3. The test dummy clip was me showing the higher potential damage of this build if you went Cursed Guild. I used Scholar's Guild in the showcase since I wanted to use Spin more often. Being in Scholar's guild significantly decreases the damage per tick (37.5 instead of 66.7) but I get to use Spin way more often. If you just want high damage per tick, go Cursed. If you want a more spammable weapon art to apply poison more often, go Scholar. As someone already pointed out, you can go High Elf Cursed Guild for a 100% poison uptime or you can consume some Binded Corruptions to increase debuff durations. Edit: 4/29/24 Siphoning Rot healing got nerfed from 10% of damage to a flat 1.
@@Khrkxun Alrighty, I guess Rot Wood Mage is getting it’s healing nerfed. It’s still around the same as a vampiric enchant on other DOT builds so I guess it’s not too bad. If only he added more things for poison before nerfing Siphoning Rot
I'm also trying to make a poison DOT build, and I have some questions, help me with your knowledge 🙏🙏 1.-Do you think a ninja reaper set would do more damage than fungus mage set? 2.- Eldritch or piercing affects Ghastly Rot DOT? 3.- Would it be better to use enchants like cursed, earthen or legendary than warped for Poison DOT dmg?
1. I tried Reaper Ninja before and it only got more poison damage when I stacked Ghastly Rot, Poison, Slow, Sticky and Burning. Even then, it wasn't by too much. I think applying poison through a source that you have a lot of potency in, in my case through Fungus Mage, would probably be more do more raw poison damage than using Reaper Ninja. You would probably have more basic attack dps if you were taking advantage of Reaper Ninja though. 2. Eldritch does increase the damage of your poison when you have Ghastly Rot, but Piercing won't since Ghastly Rot makes your poison do true damage which completely ignores all defense interactions. Piercing will increase your poison damage if you don't have Ghastly Rot though. 3. I think I got more damage from using legendary when I was on my Cursed slot since it already has a lot of perk potency but not too much boost. Warped might have been better on my Scholar slot since it doesn't have too much perk potency, but I don't think the difference was too much for me to worry about in either case ( I think it was like a ~5 damage per tick difference on my Cursed slot). I went with legendary so I I would have some stats (the protection is nice when blocking) and I'm pretty sure it gave me more total Earth and Hex boost than just going with Earthen or Cursed since it was on Fungus Mage.
I did this blade as a high elf and cursed guild, the dmg is a good amount better with cursed guild (as well as the heals obviously) scholar is not needed if your high elf cuz with high elf, the wepon art cooldown is lower then the during of ghastly rot (with 3 stored corruptions)
Would the tentacle WA work with this build? specifically to use its low cooldown to proc poison, and would you have to be in scholars for that to work?
do u think this could work with the new draconic guild? I've been looking for a build that utilises hex as I want to go purple dragon blooded (mainly thinking about this because of the infuse ability with the draco shrine)
I'm not too sure tbh. I usually run Basic Blade and Basic Handle with Lone Samurai armor until I have enough SP to max out at least one weapon part. Sometimes I wait until I have enough for both weapon parts, but that's because I'm so used to using Basic Blade and Handle. You could try going for the hex blades first then the handle. Since the Hex Great Blade is on the same path as the Cursed Dagger, you could use the Curse Dagger for sustain until you have something else.
If you’re in the Scholar guild, it shouldn’t matter if you reverse the blade and handle. If you wanted to use this is any other guild, you would need the weapon combo I showed in the video
W build! but I use tentacle WA I don't know but I like it continuous poison. edit: earthquake better 1 WA 600dmg 10 sec cd and the poison 15 sec till it ran out.
This build did get the healing nerfed, but that was basically it. You're not doing magic damage in spin because you're using Spectral Blade instead, which does water and hex damage, or you're not in the Scholar's guild
Usually yeah. I tried out 5x Warped on my Cursed Slot and it did like 5 less damage per tick, but had a slightly longer duration and gave more health per tick. It's mostly up to preference at that point, but it might have done more damage on my Scholar slot since I didn't have as much potency on it, but I didn't try it.
Yeah, Arachnid is such a strong armor and so a ton of people use it. That’s why I was hesitant to make a fully dedicated poison build and made hybrid builds of it in my “Rotten Wood” showcase. Thankfully, this build is pretty strong by itself and can solo corrupt Frogg and Enraged Bee. Soloing 2x Bastion is probably possible with it, but you would need to switch to a speed set a lot and really know what you’re doing on the boss
Probably 3 if you haven't expunged them from the guild quest. Without any Stored Corruption or weapon art cooldown reduction, I had around a 1 second downtime with Cursed guild. If you're High Elf, you probably won't need any Stored Corruption
It didn't get nerfed. Levels also affect damage so maybe that's why. If you're comparing your damage to the test dummy clip, then go Cursed Guild instead of Scholar. Scholar does less damage per tick, but it's still enough to clear Corrupted Frogg like in the showcase
Warped gets rid of stats in exchange for perk potency, so I decided to use the wind ring for some extra speed and the fireball rune since I had an extra lying around. You can change them out for other rings and runes if you want to

Nope, I had no Stored Corruption on my Cursed slot
@@EggySnoodle Sweet. Appreciate all the replies ya give :) Thanks again for another fun build!
A build that is poison AND doesnt need revved + emotion and it has good dps and self sustain?? On god free dps+ cheap
such low investment good build dawg
I would add in a price of profane for the bleed so you could have poison and bleed
You could also use a Sharp Ring for bleed since Spin guard breaks on the last hit
True
next patch u going to have 2 uses or ur wa so pretty nice

Eldritch wouldn't do anything since this build doesn't debuff yourself. Eldritch only affects debuffs on yourself

i don't know how this is possible, i thought of almost the exact same thing last night
why not use warped instead of legendary? legendary enchant deal more damage?
The damage was roughly the same, so I went with Legendary so I could have some stats
i trying to combine with crazy hare but sadly it wont work or am just clueless idk also does warped instead of legend are better or nah
If you're using Crazy Hare, you could only proc the poison through Spectral Rot using this build.
For me, I had better results with Legendary
@@EggySnoodle idk my sneeze doesnt proc spectral i just test it i didnt uh max anything yet
quick question, i did the same build but i dont have true dmg? what did u do to have true dmg? ty
Ghastly Rot from Spectral Handle turns your poison into true damage

creative to use wind ring for mobility...

Upgrades and enchants don’t affect infusions
I love poison builds and all but the game is littered with arachnid users so it’s not really viable

How do i get spectral handle??😅
Upgrade Murky Handle. You can get Murky as a drop chance from Frogg Cavern
I am so confused I spent 10 minutes looking at handle tree and couldn't find out where it is. Any pointers?
Murky -> Spectral. Murky is dropped from Frogg Cavern
Ok thank you so much :)@@EggySnoodle
why did u infuse two fungus mage instead of two rotwood mage? does more fungus mage make the poison do more tick dmg?
Yeah more Fungus Mage increases the damage per tick if you inflict the poison through it (which this build does a constantly)
Can i ask why not use mythical instead of legenday
I'd lose the perk, which also boosts my poison damage and gives me poison potency
removes the perk
