They already released the GX4 Carry and the G2C(it’s actually a G3C but they called G2C because it’s the name of the best seller). This new round is basically a 124 grains projectile(the exact same as 9mm Luger) in a 18.3 mm case. It’s just enough for the chamber of the 38TPC guns not fit 9x19mm. It’s just a stupid restriction. Taurus did this because this way they can use everything from old models to fit in this new caliber, they just have to make the chamber different. It’s the same slide, frame, springs and magazine from the regular 9mm line. Ballistically the 9mm Luger and the 38TPC are almost the same.

Have a G2C 40SW made in Brazil that has ran flawlessly in about 6,000 rounds. Have to tap the frame pins back a little every 1,000. But is a total runner!
I have the issue of pressing the mag release with the micro 9’s. When you mention this in the video that was my first thought. Thanks for the great content and please keep the videos coming.
I'm excited for it. Have had no issues with GX4 Carry, a carried it almost every day even though have at least 5 options to grab all summer. A guy like me just might throw on my Carry Slide, and the safety may not have any chance of bumping on, theoretically of course, but new females often want externals safety so. Carry Mags will work. Factories in both Brazil and GA aren't going anywhere, they figured out how to update a bit and get this made in Brazil to get rid of G2C that was lingering on. So likely a better pistol, better trigger and ergos, slimmer and lighter for carry which most want nowadays, and yet hit the same incredibly low $ point. More legal good guys and gals carrying everyday is what it's about and will likely be a great first pistol. Most real world users aren't doing burn downs. Honestly Ergos and grip texture looks a bit better then CC9...not saying it will be as long term durable but it's $250.
My GX4 and G3 have MecGar and my G3C 9 and G3C 40 both have in house mags. I have about 1500 rounds through the G3 and 500+ each through the other 3. No hiccups.
Taurus is that extra Zombie apocalypse gun that you pass to a new shooter like "take this but be ready to run". For the price I'll always buy it just to have another gun at home
I believe the GX4 line uses Mec-gar mags which are obviously much better quality. This looks like something they did as a cost cutting measure in regards to the GX2.
Your information is incorrect and all over the board. So Taurus's high-end firearms are made in Bainbridge, Georgia. But the G Line up was always made in brazil That's why they're double stamped, saying the company is in the USA, but they're made in Brazil. And as far as the magazines all Of the twelve round magazines for the GC Rather, it's the 2 or the 3 We're made in Brazil. only the 15 and 17 mags We're made in italy by mec-gar
@spnfirearms I believe that about your GX4 But every g2 and g3 I have ever laid my hands-on has 2 markings, one saying Bainbridge Georgia the other Made in brazil Two markings one firearm So unless it came from the Performance center Or some sort of special release I seriously doubt your G3c is With a made in Georgia only.
Every review I’ve seen so far really loved how these shoot. For the price the seems to be an ok purchase. We shall see what long term testing looks like.
I have never seen a used glock for less than 375 to 350.. except the 22lr.. I have seen some glocks sell cheaper from individuals that I know was a little hot.
@@matityahu233 you will see in the video he’s doing on it that I paid $250 for it. We get those often at those prices. Our local gun store has amazing used gun prices.
Looks a lot like the H&K CC9. IMO one of the best Micro compact 9mm out there. Reliable AF (I put a whole case of ammo 1K rds thru it and ran without a hiccup and no cleaning). I’d rather pay $600 bucks and know it will run flawlessly, shoot great, and conceal perfectly.
Why complain with the GX2 and just new to the market. Shoot first and then judge it. If you dont like the quality, then dont buy it. Get a staccato instead
Idk, I've had a G2C for years. They don't come with Mec-Gar mags, and I've never had a problem with it at all. They don't have the stupid crease in them either. The finish does suck on them, that's for sure. That's why I got a stainless G3. And with that, the 15 round mag is Mec-Gar but the 17 rounder isn't.
Thanks for the info. I was asking why should I buy one. I've got the G2C and the GX4. Had to send the GX4 back after I ran a check on the serial numbers. I've got several of the Taurus firearms. I've kept my SS PT145 after they offered to replace it with a blue 9mm. I didn't buy it in 9mm I bought it in 45acp.
This gun was just made to discontinue the G2c and G3c and reduce cost. It’s a GX4 FCU, in a video they put a GX4 carry slide on the GX2 and it worked. So this pistol is just to provide have something cheap and focus all machines in just one type of pistol (except the one that makes the frame). Lastly, they were all made in Brazil just assembled in the USA. Same thing with their snub nose revolvers. They come in with a 3” barrel from Brazil and they cut the excess in the US to comply.
I think this replaces the G2C as a cheap alternative. If you want to step up, the GX4 carry would be your choice. This is to provide a super cheap solution without cannabalising the market segment of the GX4 carry
Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's, and is just that, an opinion. I've not yet found a YT shooting review of this pistol that was not highly complimentary, even though the gun is made in - GASP - Brazil. If it has lots of failures in your range trials, it will reinforce your negative opinion of this one handgun. Doubtless price-point compromises must be made with any gun.
Hello SPN. I've seen two reviews of this gun in which the reviewers are boasting about Mecgar mags being standard equipment. So, Taurus is sending out two different versions of this gun, or the reviewers are being less than honest. I thank you for your honesty.
What a great opportunity for you and your viewers to research Brazil's current governmental state of affairs and what our government and the European powers that be did to ensure that power changed hands.
Love the honest look at the pistol. I do think the reference to an almost impossible deal to get on that Glock is unfair considering that usually a Glock with at most 2 mags costs approx $350 used all day long unless completely trashed (and even then they're 250). But i understand the rest of everything you pointed out.
Their naming nomenclature is horrible. G3C was the compact version of the G3, then GX4C was the larger version of the GX4. Then GX2 is a new amalgamation of the GX4 & G3C...?
My friend bought a few Taurus striker fired guns. He’s got problems w a few of them. He sends back to Taurus, they give him run around saying either nothing is wrong w the gun or they send him a brand new one and has same issues as previous one. Their customer service sucks. With other Taurus models he owns, they run like a champ. I guess u gotta be lucky. Between shipping the guns back and forth, FFL fees, and so on he spent about $500 per Taurus that he was having problems with trying to get them sorted out. At that point, buy a Glock or a CC9! And you don’t have to worry about anything
I own a bunch of Taurus as well as other brands. The Taurus run every bit as good as their far more expensive 14th cousins out there. I have zero reason to BS about that. We own S&W, Ruger, Canik, and Taurus. The best of all of them are the Caniks.
I have a S.A. 1911 made in Brazil that needed work to function properly. I bought it about 30 years ago. Since then, I have not purchased a firearm made in Brazil. Some people dont want to pay extra for a S&W or Glock. I like a CZ or Ruger over a Brazillian firearm. I dont have any new Sigs either. The price of the Taurus is attractive, but I need firearms to operate correctly out of the box consistently and i will pay a reasonable amount more for it over an inconsistent brand. Just me.
My first handgun was a Taurus TH9c. Decent gun I guess, the front sight popped off after like 3 months lol but overall good. The MecGar mags are the best part though-- I wasn't planning on buying any more Tauruses, but I definitely won't if the mags aren't MecGar!
oh and BTW. barrel is stainless steel not regular steel. if the proper grade of stainless is used there should really be no rust issues. At least on barrel.
I wouldn't trade my G2C for any other hand gun. I like Smith & Wesson but the G2C is my go to. it has never misfired and it always hits the target. It's uncanny how good it feels in my hand. Like an extension of myself.
@johncadloni4538 , On the Taurus site it says the black finish slide is a steel alloy. They have a stainless version they offer for a little bit more that has a matte stainless finish with a stainless slide. That's what their site says anyways.
@johncadloni4538 , Says on the Taurus site the black slide is steel alloy but they offer a stainless version for a few more bucks that's got a matte stainless finish. That's what their ste says anyways.
It’s a $250 gun. It’s not a $600 Glock. It is what it is. But if it shoots well and is reliable then it’s a good gun for folks who only have $250 to spend. It’s basically built on the same simple striker design as the GX4 which is a great gun. I doubt it will have any real problems.
My PT92 came with Brazil made magazine - no functional troubles with them. Lot of harsh talk without even single bullet shot. Sights can be sighted that is why they are not in geometrical center of slide. Not even Glock is always centered bcs you need to slave your sight to point of impact. And btw if you want to see vanishing slide finish, take-off Glock gen5 slide - white areas (not just lines) after only 500rounds. Gone are glory times of 1st gen3 finish. And if you think that US made Taurus guns are really (100% parts) made in US, you cannot count and go back to elementary school. They are assembled in US at best. Just calculate how much time and energy is needed to form barrel and slide, now think about US wage and energy price.
It was made for new shooters and first time buyers who could get a great price with good reliability. If it goes bang when its supposed to its done its job. Cant compare a budget/economy firearm to something in a whole different spectrum. My opinion, everyone has one! Nice video!!!
I sold my GX4. Couldn’t shoot it accurately…the final nail on the coffin was the rear sights would keep moving after a few hundred rounds. The GX2 seems to use the same sights.
If you can snag Metgar mags made for the GX2 and get it on sale for $200, still might be a good option. Can swap out the sights for Glock. Shame it wasn't made in the Georgia factory, that definitely drops my confidence in it.
Glock man here, you can't beat a Glock, with 50 rounds of 9mm 124 hst +p witch I couldn't get until two days ago $42 dollars, usually carry 124 +p critical duty.
If the gx4 xl and gx4 carry had a baby, but the gx4 xl had an affair with g3x and a 13 rounder came out. I'd just get the carry. Minimal size difference and you have 15 rounds/optic capability, and it's $30 more.
Meh... I'm already vested in G magazines... noway am I jumping into another eco system... Thanks for your time spent in making this video n' God bless brother

@@spnfirearmsI truly hope it preforms better than you think it will. I really like the size of this gun. Longer barrel than standard GX4 but shorter than the carry. Grips also in between the two. 13 rounds is perfact IMHO. Let's go!
I am a big fan of the G3 series. Solid builds with amazing prices, good options from the factory and on the market for upgrades. Manual safety and double strike capability. If this new offering goes to any degree of questionable quality / durability...shame on Taurus for going backwards.
Haha I promise you it beats being a Taurus fan boy… my Glocks run 14k+ rounds without even the slightest hiccup or part breakage…… I think that’s all I need to say. You want me to say this handgun is properly machined? You want me to lie to you and tell you this is an amazing gun? It’s sad how hurt people get by truth now a days. @@spnfirearmsI just hope it isn't as bad as the machining looks. It looks to have the GX4 TYPE fire control group with a thicker G2/3c type slide. Just because it's made overseas doesn't mean it's junk and just because it's made in USA doesn't mean it's good. I work in a manufacturing plant here in America and see what goes on there and can tell you that just because something is made here doesn't mean it's good quality lol
@@thebushwacker45 I won't buy a made in America car. My last one was a new 98 Expedition. The tranny went at 75ish and the engine at 92ishK . I haven't looked back since.
The main reason I could think of them manufacturing it in Brazil would be the price point they wanted to produce and bring it to the public
Right? It's $250.
But we'll bring Trump back in office so that will change whether it's made in USA or not
I have the two G3C, one G2C, GX4, one G2C (40sw}, and G3. All work great and are budget friendly. I appreciate your honest review. I am still going to get one. I like the look of it. I love your channel keep up the good work!
I'm glad you put this video up. I was gonna pick one up today. But the sigh was all jiggly janked and there was rust by the extractor and it was brand new. So I bought a honor defense with nightsights. And I just put a 150 rounds through it was happy 250.00 day.
Always tempting to get the shiny new inexpensive toy. Reminds me it’s better to save up a bit and get the better quality products
Thanks for sharing
thanks for the review , like you said Taurus rocks, keep up the great work.
very nice new taurus GX2 and the grip angle is awesome!
Thanks for the honest review. I always like your content. Thanks to you I have a Sheild in .357 sig
Every single review I've watched, they have all praised this gun. Multiple 500+ rd tests and it performed great. Shoots extremely flat and accurate.
Taurus got a bad rap, it almost became a meme, but they produce good and cheap guns
They make firearms that compete with models costing 2 to 3 times the price. These new made in brazil mags though, a huge red flag for me.
I love when he yeeted the gun lock 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Is the recoil spring/guide rod plastic like the gx4 xl and carry or steel like the gx4?
I think he said steeel
Love the grip on my TX-22. Does any recent Taurus SA have the same ergonomics as the TX-22?
This one basically does!
@ thanks! Love your no BS content! You’ve made it okay to visit my local pawn/gun shop!
My GX4 and G3 have MecGar and my G3C 9 and G3C 40 both have in house mags. I have about 1500 rounds through the G3 and 500+ each through the other 3. No hiccups.
I have the GX4 and it runs great
Taurus is that extra Zombie apocalypse gun that you pass to a new shooter like "take this but be ready to run". For the price I'll always buy it just to have another gun at home
Improved Ergonomics, Trigger & "Steel Guide Rod" are a plus. If reliable still a good purchase for the money.
My G3C in .40 did not have Mec-Gar mags. Made in Brazil. Work fine so far.
For Tauruses, you'd have to get a stainless model if you want an enduring finish.
This will be offered in stainless
@@HoneyNotSaltI thought the black slide was also stainless but with some kinda black finish? I'm sure I read that somewhere?
@@johncadloni4538 That's true for S&Ws but not for most other brands.
Same with Ruger's, but unlike Taurus, at least Ruger's work 😂
Ivan, actually the finish on the G3 is pretty good and the GX-4 Carry is even better.
That Taurus look great
I believe the GX4 line uses Mec-gar mags which are obviously much better quality. This looks like something they did as a cost cutting measure in regards to the GX2.
It's just launch issues imo
Thank you for calling them out on the cheap mags. Taurus thought nobody would notice
No it’s not. My gx4 and 2 g3c’s are both made in bainbridge georigia.
And my gx4 mags are made by mecgar.
Bro he did not pick that Glock 27 with all that for 200 bucks 😂😂
I have never seen a used glock for less than 375 to 350.. except the 22lr.. I have seen some glocks sell cheaper from individuals that I know was a little hot.
250 and yes I did.
@@matityahu233 you will see in the video he’s doing on it that I paid $250 for it. We get those often at those prices. Our local gun store has amazing used gun prices.
@@tombrunton7079 A little hot is like a little pregnant.
He’s made way too many sorts about it lol
Looks a lot like the H&K CC9. IMO one of the best Micro compact 9mm out there. Reliable AF (I put a whole case of ammo 1K rds thru it and ran without a hiccup and no cleaning). I’d rather pay $600 bucks and know it will run flawlessly, shoot great, and conceal perfectly.
I definitely will stay with my S&W Shield plus
Why complain with the GX2 and just new to the market. Shoot first and then judge it. If you dont like the quality, then dont buy it. Get a staccato instead
I agree with everything you mentioned about the GX2.......SPN. Keep up the great, honest reviews.
Random but on your M&p 40c, did you ever change out the trigger?
I read that Taurus's Beretta 92 clone is made in a factory that they bought complete from Beretta themselves
The G3C mags are made in brazil, but they look way better than the G2X mags.
Great overview!
No problem, respect. Check your emails. That went out the other day for ya
Tracking should be in your email
When will ee get your 500 round review? Thanks
I think this replaces the G2C as a cheap alternative. If you want to step up, the GX4 carry would be your choice. This is to provide a super cheap solution without cannabalising the market segment of the GX4 carry
I've had my Glock 27 for 10 years and I've NEVER had a a malfunction... I'll stick with my G27 bro. lol
Hey spn, can you plug your LSG? Prices are amazing...would like to do some shopping if possible.
No mfs you think shit sweet here in America. We have our own problems. It’s not our job to look at other mfs state of affairs.
Does it take G3 or GX4 mags?
Thanks for the info bro!
Your friend is the exception when it comes to Taurus... considering the sheer volume of these guns made theyve had more issues...but not % wise...
I can tell you are a young lad, but keep up the good work.
oh and BTW. barrel is stainless steel not regular steel. if the proper grade of stainless is used there should really be no rust issues. At least on barrel.
Interesting information, thanks for sharing.
Full 3 finger grip and only 13 rounds??? AND Taurus went to cheap mags??? No Thanks, I will pass
agree just on the mags alone
i have a g2c and the texture and ergos are probably the best of all my guns
I wouldn't trade my G2C for any other hand gun. I like Smith & Wesson but the G2C is my go to. it has never misfired and it always hits the target. It's uncanny how good it feels in my hand. Like an extension of myself.
"Some of the would take off brrrt" lmao
Broo WHERE DO YOU FIND THESE DEALS!! 😫 250 for a 27!
Anything in 40 is a deal if it's used. Look around
Slide material is supposedly stainless so the finish is not really necessary.
I believe the rails are SS not the slide itself. I believe the slide is steel alloy.
@@deancarpenter2122 I also read the black slide was also stainless with a black finish. We need an answer for this in the next review if possible.
Dang it ! I was going to go look at one of these, now I'll spare myself. Thank you!
Yeah kinda a let down
It’s a $250 gun.
Just calculate how much time and energy is needed to form barrel and slide, now think about US wage and energy price.
the tauras backplate is cool wish more companies did that
the back plate is the tarus logo
It was made for new shooters and first time buyers who could get a great price with good reliability. If it goes bang when its supposed to its done its job. Cant compare a budget/economy firearm to something in a whole different spectrum. My opinion, everyone has one! Nice video!!!
Same thing I said buget gun for the new shooter in mind starting to see different reviews saying the same thing as well
Does this mean the other models are going to go back to the Brazil mags?
i fabricate machinery, that’s the shittiest welding i’ve ever seen on those mags. 😂
Just wait until you see the internals on this gun… sketchy… respect and thanks for watching
TEMU welding
I think ill save up and get the Gluger instead all though i love my g3c even though the finish sucks😂😂❤
As a lefty , gotta lose that safety or add one to the other side. Its cheap enough though.
I am a lefty also and that’s the first thing I noticed. I don’t like safeties, especially when they are on the wrong side of the gun.
It is absolutely criminal how low the views on this channel is
I was pretty excited about this thinking it would run Mec Gar mags. That's kind of disappointing.
I want one, but I think I’ll wait maybe a year so all the bugs can be fixed in them if they have any
I sold my GX4. Couldn’t shoot it accurately…the final nail on the coffin was the rear sights would keep moving after a few hundred rounds. The GX2 seems to use the same sights.
Those little micro pistols suck IMO. All of them
How long until we find out they aren't drop safe?
LOL
Spoiler: The sights aren’t off. That was zeroed at the factory.
The thing about Taurus is they make good guns for a cheap price. But when they cut corners yeeesh. You can really tell.
LOL< true that man
I'd rather have a G3C anyways cause of the extra capacity in the bigger mags.
If you can snag Metgar mags made for the GX2 and get it on sale for $200, still might be a good option. Can swap out the sights for Glock. Shame it wasn't made in the Georgia factory, that definitely drops my confidence in it.
It shouldn't
Glock man here, you can't beat a Glock, with 50 rounds of 9mm 124 hst +p witch I couldn't get until two days ago $42 dollars, usually carry 124 +p critical duty.
If the gx4 xl and gx4 carry had a baby, but the gx4 xl had an affair with g3x and a 13 rounder came out.
I'd just get the carry. Minimal size difference and you have 15 rounds/optic capability, and it's $30 more.
Please share where you can buy a GX4 carry for $280.00
Save your money for an HK . Had taurus and Hk pistols for years . They all shoot , but quality comes at a cost .
Meh... I'm already vested in G magazines... noway am I jumping into another eco system...
Thanks for your time spent in making this video n' God bless brother
First let’s start with the fact S&W has been shipping with sights off or backwards completely sooo😂. We all need to be pushing the fact that the XD mod3 is the only good pick for a new or budget buyer right now.
I got one do. I wonder if the slides will swap
They will rust like sig mags
Of course they will but people are so obsessed with buying cheap stuff they will make up any excuse for it.
13 rounds is crazy. It’s basically a compact. I loved the gx4 but it just looks like a bunch of bad ideas. 😢
I want to give them a chance
We will find out tomorrow!
+1 G3 TORO, but the GX-4 Carry TORO is even nicer
Glock Fan-Boi Here
Haha I promise you it beats being a Taurus fan boy… my Glocks run 14k+ rounds without even the slightest hiccup or part breakage…… I think that’s all I need to say. You want me to say this handgun is properly machined? You want me to lie to you and tell you this is an amazing gun? It’s sad how hurt people get by truth now a days. There is a reason why this gun is $250. It shows why it’s this price. You clearly don’t watch my channel because I have been an advocate for Taurus handguns and have thought they have came a long way. This was a step back. It’s sad that people can’t handle the truth so they resort to the childish “Glock fan boi” as if it’s a bad thing to want our guns to run flawlessly for 10’s of thousands of rounds. Lord knows you wouldn’t bet me 10k cash this gun will run flawlessly for even 3k rounds.
@@spnfirearmsI just hope it isn't as bad as the machining looks. It looks to have the GX4 TYPE fire control group with a thicker G2/3c type slide. If it runs well ill probably buy one in a few months if it all pans out. Not a big taurus fan but my G3c runs well enough. This looks better......at least I'm hoping?
