I really like that the boat ride to Fatalis is a recreation of the very first cutscene of the game. It's such a cool full circle to see that cutscene as an experienced veteran hunter.
Let me just say I love the direction this game is going Just adding more story like this to these monsters/events Fighting at Castle Schrade for a normal quest versus a special assignment with background feels really cool to me

Exactly! And its design being so out of place for MH just adds to the creepy factor. The other monsters feel like they fit within their ecosystem, but the Fatalis is the only true supernatural being. (except the Xeno/Safii'jiiva which are literally aliens)
i believe that the devs made it that way on purpose cuz u kno... fatalis is an elder dragon, means it is one of the oldest dragon... if u notice it all of first gen elder have their "basic" design and if we look further to the newer gens, they have "special design" and special powers i believe the devs thought that newer monsters have to "evolve" in kinda way to survive, and its actually a great little detail by devs
Xeno and Safi are alien-like but are very much native to the planet. In fact, it has an ecological rivalry with Alatreon going on for eons and the two mirror each other in both powers and their functions in the ecosystem. Ironically, Fatalis is the alien here as an in-universe theory proposes that it's not from this dimension.

Fireproof mantle +, defiance 5, defense boost 7, divine blessing (secrets) 5, heroic (secrets) 7, guard 5, heavy bowgun shield mod. Almost pratically immue to attack if we look pass the "unblockable" aspect.

Aiden's gotta be one of the best characters in MH, from fighting a Lunastra as a teen, to fighting Fatalis as an adult..
