Thank-you I was searching for Autumn colors plants and your popped up this morning Picture perfect Thank you showing a lot of Zone 9 plants for SE Louisiana landscape.
@@PrettyPurpleDoor. I agree with the above comment. Really enjoyed the video, took lots of notes and got great ideas for shrubs that will add nectar and berries to my yard for the birds and bees. I get flowers and great fall colors! This is a totally new concept for me. Although I have used white dogwoods and burning bush for fall color, I have never thought about using a larger variety of plants for the fall. I love that I will be adding food for the wildlife which is a priority. My desire to plant natives for that purpose has not been fulfilled. The plants are either not available or too expensive! Now I have found something really exciting. Thank you! 😊
Love this video series. Looking forward to your video on winter interest. Im revamping my gardens from 90% perennials/10% shrubs to 30% flowering perennials/70% shrubs/small trees. I'm getting older and need less maintenance and more winter interest. I love pruning shrubs/trees so it's a win-win for me. Z5b Massachusetts.
Glad you're enjoying! do have a video on low maintenance landscape tips you can check out. And I have two videos about winter interest that are coming soon!
I have a Sarah's Crape Myrtle with white blooms that has the most gorgeous fall color I've seen on any tree or shrub. If I remember correctly, it's much more cold hardy than most crape myrtles too.
Dogwoods! The white dogwoods popular in the South have white blossoms, red berries and gorgeous fall colors. The berries aren’t that plentiful but the birds love them and they add interest. Lots of varieties of Cornus sp. have white to cream flowers, red berries and green leaves that turn to fall colors. Some are only 4” tall.
Agreed dogwoods are great. I considered including red twig dogwood in this list because I already talk about it so much 😅... and I also included yellow twig dogwood in this video th-cam.com/video/_O48lfpH0fA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Y4BNQpj9QhdwEJ4Y So... I figured I'd skip it this time but thanks for mentioning. I love them 😊
really like this video, now to find some of these gorgeous plants in Nova Scotia .
