It would have been hilarious if they'd made a joke about Margot and Emma looking identical. But it wouldn't have made sense, since they looked so different when in costume.

Absolutely. Barbie movie subverted expectations in so many ways. Her romantic rejection of him was so brilliantly executed. And yes, Ken being the villain was a nice touch as well. It’s funny, because there are fans of the movie, who are adamant that he isn’t the bad guy 😂 But just because he was supremely stupid and provided comic relief it doesn’t mean his actions weren’t heinous when he ushered in his patriarchal rule & literally brainwashed the Barbie’s ☕️
I loved the movie. It was hilarious. At first I hadn't planned on seeing it thinking it was for kids. Then I heard the nut jobs complaining it was anti-man. So I went to see it. I found it hilarious social commentary on life through the eyes of a doll. If a director's cut happens, count me in. 😅
I didn’t see the movie when it first came out. I didn’t think a movie about a doll would be too exciting. But I did see it a few months later, and loved it! From Barbie trying to figure out who she really was to Ken learning who he is, also. The music, the dancing. It was such an enjoyable movie. And bringing back childhood memories. 😊
I had a Midge doll back in the 60’s. She had the same body as Barbie, but freckles and a flip hairdo. She was Barbie’s best friend. I didn’t know anything about Mattel turning her into a baby machine. I guess that was after my time. What a shame! I wish they had made some reference to Midge before Mattel messed her up.
I'm not abt to type a whole long paragraph, but everyone, can we agree that we need another one? We need to see Barbie in the human world, and the way that the Barbies and Kens accept that.
Some items might have been nice, but I don't think any omissions weaken the as-is splendid result - and fart jokes drag down the tone of *any* movie but Blazing Saddles.
What annoyed me, because, as usual, I'm thinking *way too much* about it, is that Barbie was arrested for assaulting the jerk who slapped her bum, but *he wasn't*? Aargh! I know. I know.

And it’s so interesting how both some so called ‘feminist’ critics and conservative incel types are united in how whiny and nitpicky they are over a movie about a doll😏☕️😂 For me tho, one of the only criticisms that I actually agree with is that Gloria and her tween daughter didn’t get enough screen time. And that Ken got too much. Outside of that though, Barbie is truly a brilliant movie

What I want to know is, why did they cut out lizzos song saying "nevermind" when they see midge? They didn't cut it out in theaters, but they did when barbie came out on MAX. Shame because I liked it lol.

I think they might have removed the "Barbie-Ken-Beach-Alone" scene because it felt too white centric? Like everything came from white people. It may have been like that when Barbie was invented and then Ken came about, but it goes against what the better meaning of Barbie is and has become. We are the Barbie from different walks of life. We are the Barbie that believes that everyone can live in peace. We are the Barbie who is confident. We are the Barbie that can dream, have the beautiful mansion, beach house, convertible, boyfriend, career, etc... We are the Barbie that can reach outer space. We are the Barbie who can be anything and do anything. We ARE BARBIE and BARBIE IS US.
I'm waiting for Barbie to go back to her German roots, dump Ken and fling a little real discipline on GI Joe. Bild Lily was the "It" girl without apology.

When I was in high school, I was a huge fan of the movie and loved the score..so one night while doing homework..I was listening to this score on my headphones. I wasn't aware tbe score included voices ans whispers interlaced wirh the orchestrals and I was in a dark room..midnight ..only light from my desk lamp And I thought someone else was in the room with me...because I kept hearing whispering and faint talking ... Scared the ever loving f*ck out of myself 10/10 highly recommend
Barbie is the best film of year! And certainly far more entertaining and original than all the tiresome superhero and action movies being churned out by Hollywood over the last decade

The first time I saw the movie, I just did not get it. Twenty viewings later, I still don't get it but I have fallen in love with it.
Too bad it ignored the radical feminists and how they tend to hurt women as much as radical menimists.
I was surprised at how much Ken made me laugh, plus watching it with my nephew I had to answer the question "What is a gynecologist" !!!!
