I feel like they sent recruiters to loiter outside of anger management clinics to find contestants for this show. That's the only explanation for the amount of rage issues.
Some “contestants” of other series have said on podcasts that they run a whole psych eval on everyone they consider, I’m guessing to 1) figure out how easily manipulated they are and 2) make sure they’re not cuckoo-bananas enough to outright halt production. Not sure how this series vets potential contestants.

Agreed. They talk about how men "blackout" when they fight, but don't delve in the actual issues that creates. They "blackout" so they go off on whoever and it's "they lost control". I wouldn't wanna be around them while they do that either. Ive seen my dad threaten his partner right over me and her young daughters heads, saying they'll kill eachother....yeah this is hell on earth

The crying seemed so silly and dramatic until I remembered how terrifying it is to be around drunk violent people irl, especially if they're bigger and stronger than you and you're forced to remain in close proximity
And especially when some of those women will be paired with them. This isn’t a case where they can just distance themselves or leave easily (because god knows the producers would just encourage them to stay longer), it’s inescapable regular violence that is highly unnecessary and dangerous for everyone around. Gross.

One thing I really hate is that they just let all the dudes get super aggressive. Like one thing hurts their ego and they start punching walls and stuff and each other and getting scary. And I see ZERO repercussions shown for that. It’s not funny to the women around them. It can be very dangerous

this scene is fucking SCARY. I, as a woman, would've been scared as shit to see all those men having a fight. I don't want to speak for other girls or women, but me personally, I probably would've cried as well. This is a super stressful situation. Emotions are high and YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING. I am weak as an overcooked noodle. One of those big dudes approaching me threateningly and you can find me in the next corner on the ground having a panic attack. You don't know if they're just gonna turn around and hurt you too. Whether they mean to or not. I get that it looks stupid on TV, but being there in that situation I can totally understand those women freaking out.
Also NO ONE from the camera team or whoever intervening is crazy to me.

That is why I was speaking FOR MYSELF. Everyone reacts differently. Everyone experience on how to handle these kind of situations is different. And no one, NO ONE, knows for certain how they would react in such a situation, because when it's stressful and scary and overwhelming your actions are instinctive and not something you can plan. Fight, flight or freeze. YES it's a dumb TV show, YES maybe they're in no real danger at all. Is it still scary TO THEM? OBVIOUSLY SINCE THEY Y ARE CRYING. I think what's most "pathetic" is you people judging and belittling these people for their INVOLUNTARY reactions to something they didn't start, can't change or stop.

Meh, I’d either lock myself in a room, go for a walk, and/or find something to use as a weapon just in case. I’m traumatized though, been through this kind of thing many times.

If you would have been nervous about getting hurt or someone approaching you, why wouldn’t u just leave. It looks stupid bc they’re in a mansion and they are crowded around men fighting and as u say, can’t do anything to help to stop the situation, so why be there in the first place. Just go to another room. And the crying was very dramatic bc they were probably all drunk. And also it was many producers that stepped in, u could see that they had headsets and microphone packs on their pants, it just happened really quick
nah crying in place still leaves you within throwing range of all the crazy. When you see men get into it, fleeing should be the first thing. So it was unsettling to see them remain in the room with that mess
A blackout significantly increases the odds of winning because it eliminates so many matches from that and previous rounds.
I'm pretty sure each season has a blackout.

in the cast's only defense: they've probably been deprived of sleep and dehydrated/still intoxicated from the alcohol (and maybe they were even hungry). production might have had an influence in that as well to highten emotions and make good tv. maybe that's why they're always crying and fighting
True but not everyone is reacting violently under the same conditions. I think they also purposely choose individuals they know will react in these ways.

I’m honestly really upset that they allowed these men - without any producer response it seems - to break things and threaten the people around them. They should have been at the very least punished monetarily if not with reprimands from the security or ousting them. I vividly remember a guy being kicked off of previous season of are you the one and his match leaving the show because she was devastated at the idea that she could be his, and now we have this bullshit
As messy and toxic as this season is, season 5 is even more chaotic and they didn't even get the money

I watched this season when it aired and rewatched it recently and WOW was it so much worse/ even more amazing than I remembered. The lore of this particular cast is especially fascinating. I genuinely think being in that house for twelve weeks with complete psychos and cut off from the outside world made everyone go insane. This is also the era right before the influencer explosion, so it’s actually like charming and comforting to just see very “normal looking, attractive young people” on tv. Thank you for reacting to this gem. There’s a season of AYTO that is entirely pan/ fluid, so like 15 people could possibly be someone’s match. It’s incredible. MTV has to go back to being in their reality bag.

As much as I kind of find it funny, I really do sympathize with the crying. I've witnessed several situations growing up where dudes get violent with each other and it's really traumatic because you feel helpless to do anything to make it stop and there's the potential it can go too far.
