Amazing how many mediocre artists out there with million views in 24 hours. Reactors like Uncle Momo knows what he's talking about. We all love music here, every genre. Totally agree with you Momo!! There are great singers out there, but Morissette is a growing ARTIST! She's bringing back the class in music, IMO. I grew up on '80s and '90s music, and she gives that vibe, but also with her own twist. I actually like that she's with an independent label, because she has more input. You can hear HER in the latest EP. She's broken out of the cover song phase and bringing HER own music to the world. There have always been great singers coming from the Philippines, but to break into the worldwide market you have to sing English songs and not just cover English songs. Morissette is really breaking the mold when it comes to music in the Philippines.

That’s a lame excuse. Even if she doesn’t mind, Mowienatics should do their job, at least the views should be closer to the number of subscribers. TH-cam views is very important, it gives the wrong impression to the world if the views is very low!
Morissette fan here. I agree that 16K views for the first 23 hours of release is a small number. It's disappointing. But we have to view this with the right perspective. I heard from a TH-camr that a video drop can be considered a success if it reaches 10% of your subscriber in the first 24 hours. On this metric, this video failed. Morissette currently has 334K subscribers. But this song, Love You Still, was originally released in November 2020 with an official mv. That official mv now sits with 739K views. Yes, still small compared to other artists. The official mv was preceded by a lyric video (that has 180K views) and these all happened when Morissette's channel barely had 200k subscribers. Since then, Love You Still had a version on the WishBus (407K views) and a recent live version for the RX93 anniversary concert (82K views). There really was no clamor for another live version. So this new version is part of the Signature Live Performance with a band. A project primarily just as a support for the Signature EP. I don't think anyone has any expectations that this will reach even half od the original MVs views. Now, the other new song, Will You Stay, that has been released as part of this Live Performance series and Phoenix, that had the distinction of being the first release of this series, both had views more than 10% of her total subscribers in the first 24 hours. So those two had a good start but is now on a downward trajectory after hitting 70K. Again, lyric visualizer videos and other live performances preceded these live band versions. Now let's talk about the fanbase. I've seen reactors and commenters blame the fandom for those relatively low views assuming that Morissette has an BTS Army-size fans when in reality, the number of subscribers to her own YT channel should be an indicator of how many are truly following her and her career. Out of those 334K subscribers, only a small percentage are real fans. Mostly are casual fans. Morissette went viral in 2016-2017 with Secret Love Song. Some of her biggest and loudest advocates during that time were non-Filipino reactors. This continued until 2018 with the Akin Ka Na Lang WishBus performance. By 2019, most of those original reactors have stopped reacting and now have idle channels. New reactors though continue to discover Morissette especially in 2020 when the whole world was staying at home, and her performances of Rise Up, Never Enough, Against All Odds, Stone Cold, and I Wanna Know Love Is continue to shock reactors who's never heard of her. But they all come and go, including the TH-cam viewers that watched these videos. The true and faithful Morissette fans is a ver small number. We are here on YT, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter trying to do what we can to show our support. We have twitter parties for Morissette's activities to keep her events stay viral even if it's just in the Philippine market. On a given twitter party, we average about 15k tweets in an hour to make her in the Top 10 trending topic on Twitter in the Philippines. We have streaming parties for her videos as well. But we are a small number, and it truly is unfair to lay the blame of Morissette's fans for the small number of views of her videos. What made her go viral? Her talent and WishBus. They go hand in hand. WishBus, now with its 12million subscribers, can credit Morissette for their exponential growth in 2016-2019. And WishBus as a platform, continues to introduce Morissette to new viewers. Everyone recognizes her talents. Everyone says her popularity does not match what her talent should be reaching. And as years pass and more viewers discover her, the expectations for her to go global and be a household name has even intensified. The expectations is so high that these reactors and commenters are frustrated. And this is where we get lost. We think this TH-cam recognition would translate into something, but we all know it takes more than this is go beyond TH-cam, I'm sure some can name a handful of celebrities that made a successful jump to mainstream recognition; but Morissette has passed that "strike while the iron is hot" stage. Her voice is only getting better though and her talent will sustain her career. She is doing this independently now. Her previous local label didn't know how to capitalize on her global recognition. And I can't blame them as they have always been focused to maintaining their almost monopolistic hold on the Philippine media (movies, music, tv, concert promotions) and they have local stars that they were continuing to groom. It's only now that this label is trying to go worldwide with PPOP boy and girl groups. Nonetheless, this has left Morissette to choose not to renew a recording contract with them, and go at it independently with her partner Dave and her talent management agency. So this is where we are at. Signature EP is the first foray - independently writing and producing her own music. Shooting and releasing her own music videos and releasing it on her own YT channel with 334K subscribers. She's producing her own content like this Live Band Performance series to continue to support the EP. When the EP was released in August, there was no media promotional blitz in the Philippines. Hardly any news media covered it. The EP charted in multiple countries and only then did some media outlets reported on it. Even now more than two months later, a lot of her casual fans that have learned of her since 2016 are still not aware of her EP and her new songs. But we, the true faithful fans, are here with her through the struggles. We are aware of the challenges. Morissette has always been transparent to her fans during her livestreams. Somebody suggested crowd-sourcing her next album and she admitted they don't have the know-how to start that. Somebody asked if she has any upcoming endorsement and she replied, "Do you know someone? We need more sponsors and endorsements." Fans asked for release of her cover songs and live versions in Spotify and other streaming platforms, and she admitted it costs money to do so and it's only Dave and her trying to support all the necessary tasks that need to be done to keep things afloat. She has her digital concert to prepare for right now. She is getting busier again with virtual corporate gigs. Her resources are very limited. The least of her concern right now is the low views this new Love You Still live video is getting. The fans don't have the answer on how to make her a global star. But the true fans will be here no matter what. We are here for her talent - to hear her, to see her, to appreciate her runs and riffs and squeaks and vocal agility, to share some screen time with her via live stream, to buy her merch once they're available, to buy her concert tickets, and as much as we want to keep Morissette all for ourselves, we truly want all 8billion people in the world to hear her and see her and know of her. She's keeping the faith and we continue to believe. But don't lay the blame on the fans. There are institutional challenges out there that may be beyond our understanding of why Sony, Warner, or any major music bigwig hasn't knocked on her door.
Philippines has more then a hundred million people Morissette is amazing but looks like people there don't follow or like her so much or maybe it's other thing because more popular artist like Sara Geronimo and Regine Velasquez don' have so much views too.

Regine and Sara are also major bankable movie stars at one point in their careers. They've also been regular hosts of popular variety shows. Morissette has been a semi-regular as an ASAP featured performer. She also appeared semi-regularly in It's Showtime, but ABS-CBN and Star Records never really groomed her in their television programs. Not the same way that they gave Toni Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, or even Sue Ramirez when they were building their careers. Morissette does not have the same fan base as them. Toni and Kim can release a new song tomorrow and their video will instantly gain hundreds of thousand of views on its way to hitting millions in a few months. Maymay and Maris Racal are releasing MVs and they hit 200-500k views in a few days. They are popular among Filipino audience. Morissette is just not in the same league popularity-wise; that's why it's not fair to expect the same number of views on a new Morissette video. Morissette's popularity right now is coming from TH-cam and international fans that's why her EP charted internationally. But these international fans combined with her small Filipino fanbase cannot give her the millions of views some reactors and commenters expect. She still need a major backer to afford her a bigger platform. We as Morissette fans know this, and I believe it'll take international recognition before the Filipino audience will embrace her fully. Remember that Charice hit it big internationally first before the madlang pipol supported her. Charice was just another biritera in Pinas before that. She still needed the backing of David Foster and an Oprah appearance to catapult her to major international recognition.

Wow, that was the best thing I've read in a while, a great analysis. I've always thought Mori's career stagnated being in Abs-cbn's stable of singers and applauded the move of going independent. In my view, Mori's international career has just started. I think she intentionally chose the right time too, during the pandemic. Really great singers doesn't just blow up overnight. Those who do fall just as quick as they rise. The great divas spent years and year struggling to make a breakthrough. Mori will be no different. She will overcome and will get the recognition she deserves. To paraphrase that old adage, you can't put a good artist down.

New sub. I feel your frustration brother, but unfortunately music industry/radio station payola is still alive and well in 2021 in US an to a lesser extent Great Brittan. Western promoters treat their clients like a product, not human beings and will auto-tune, compress, pitch correct a mediocre artist and promote the hell out of them with radio airplay meanwhile slipping radio station program managers a handsome stipend that is siphoned off the artist's royalties. This is why you hear a new Miley Cyrus track played 20 times a day. Independent artists like Morissette have a snowball's chance in hell of being played on a regular basis. This is where you and others like you pick up the torch for her and run with it. Reactors and her fanbase have managed to put her at the top of the Billboard charts with her music sales. She's been granting interviews with many reactors. You should try to have have her live on your channel.
That was so nicely articulated. Some really great artists took quite awhile to get recognition, some spent years as background/back-up singers before they made a breakthrough. Totally agree with you Momo!! There are great singers out there, but Morissette is a growing ARTIST! She's bringing back the class in music, IMO. I grew up on '80s and '90s music, and she gives that vibe, but also with her own twist. I actually like that she's with an independent label, because she has more input. You can hear HER in the latest EP. She's broken out of the cover song phase and bringing HER own music to the world. There have always been great singers coming from the Philippines, but to break into the worldwide market you have to sing English songs and not just cover English songs. Morissette is really breaking the mold when it comes to music in the Philippines.

I agree that 16K views for the first 23 hours of release is a small number. It's disappointing. But we have to view this with the right perspective. I heard from a TH-camr that a video drop can be considered a success if it reaches 10% of your subscriber in the first 24 hours. On this metric, this video failed. Morissette currently has 334K subscribers. But this song, Love You Still, was originally released in November 2020 with an official mv. That official mv now sits with 739K views. Yes, still small compared to other artists. The official mv was preceded by a lyric video (that has 180K views) and these all happened when Morissette's channel barely had 200k subscribers. Since then, Love You Still had a version on the WishBus (407K views) and a recent live version for the RX93 anniversary concert (82K views). There really was no clamor for another live version. So this new version is part of the Signature Live Performance with a band. A project primarily just as a support for the Signature EP. I don't think anyone has any expectations that this will reach even half od the original MVs views. Now, the other new song, Will You Stay, that has been released as part of this Live Performance series and Phoenix, that had the distinction of being the first release of this series, both had views more than 10% of her total subscribers in the first 24 hours. So those two had a good start but is now on a downward trajectory after hitting 70K. Again, lyric visualizer videos and other live performances preceded these live band versions.
Now let's talk about the fanbase. I've seen reactors and commenters blame the fandom for those relatively low views assuming that Morissette has an BTS Army-size fans when in reality, the number of subscribers to her own YT channel should be an indicator of how many are truly following her and her career. Out of those 334K subscribers, only a small percentage are real fans. Mostly are casual fans. Morissette went viral in 2016-2017 with Secret Love Song. Some of her biggest and loudest advocates during that time were non-Filipino reactors. This continued until 2018 with the Akin Ka Na Lang WishBus performance. By 2019, most of those original reactors have stopped reacting and now have idle channels. New reactors though continue to discover Morissette especially in 2020 when the whole world was staying at home, and her performances of Rise Up, Never Enough, Against All Odds, Stone Cold, and I Wanna Know Love Is continue to shock reactors who's never heard of her. But they all come and go, including the TH-cam viewers that watched these videos. The true and faithful Morissette fans is a ver small number. We are here on YT, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter trying to do what we can to show our support. We have twitter parties for Morissette's activities to keep her events stay viral even if it's just in the Philippine market. On a given twitter party, we average about 15k tweets in an hour to make her in the Top 10 trending topic on Twitter in the Philippines. We have streaming parties for her videos as well. But we are a small number, and it truly is unfair to lay the blame of Morissette's fans for the small number of views of her videos.
What made her go viral? Her talent and WishBus. They go hand in hand. WishBus, now with its 12million subscribers, can credit Morissette for their exponential growth in 2016-2019. And WishBus as a platform, continues to introduce Morissette to new viewers. Everyone recognizes her talents. Everyone says her popularity does not match what her talent should be reaching. And as years pass and more viewers discover her, the expectations for her to go global and be a household name has even intensified. The expectations is so high that these reactors and commenters are frustrated. And this is where we get lost. We think this TH-cam recognition would translate into something, but we all know it takes more than this is go beyond TH-cam, I'm sure some can name a handful of celebrities that made a successful jump to mainstream recognition; but Morissette has passed that "strike while the iron is hot" stage.
Her voice is only getting better though and her talent will sustain her career. She is doing this independently now. Her previous local label didn't know how to capitalize on her global recognition. And I can't blame them as they have always been focused to maintaining their almost monopolistic hold on the Philippine media (movies, music, tv, concert promotions) and they have local stars that they were continuing to groom. It's only now that this label is trying to go worldwide with PPOP boy and girl groups. Nonetheless, this has left Morissette to choose not to renew a recording contract with them, and go at it independently with her partner Dave and her talent management agency.
So this is where we are at. Signature EP is the first foray - independently writing and producing her own music. Shooting and releasing her own music videos and releasing it on her own YT channel with 334K subscribers. She's producing her own content like this Live Band Performance series to continue to support the EP. When the EP was released in August, there was no media promotional blitz in the Philippines. Hardly any news media covered it. The EP charted in multiple countries and only then did some media outlets reported on it. Even now more than two months later, a lot of her casual fans that have learned of her since 2016 are still not aware of her EP and her new songs. But we, the true faithful fans, are here with her through the struggles. We are aware of the challenges. Morissette has always been transparent to her fans during her livestreams. Somebody suggested crowd-sourcing her next album and she admitted they don't have the know-how to start that. Somebody asked if she has any upcoming endorsement and she replied, "Do you know someone? We need more sponsors and endorsements." Fans asked for release of her cover songs and live versions in Spotify and other streaming platforms, and she admitted it costs money to do so and it's only Dave and her trying to support all the necessary tasks that need to be done to keep things afloat. She has her digital concert to prepare for right now. She is getting busier again with virtual corporate gigs. Her resources are very limited. The least of her concern right now is the low views this new Love You Still live video is getting.
The fans don't have the answer on how to make her a global star. But the true fans will be here no matter what. We are here for her talent - to hear her, to see her, to appreciate her runs and riffs and squeaks and vocal agility, to share some screen time with her via live stream, to buy her merch once they're available, to buy her concert tickets, and as much as we want to keep Morissette all for ourselves, we truly want all 8billion people in the world to hear her and see her and know of her. She's keeping the faith and we continue to believe.
But don't lay the blame on the fans. There are institutional challenges out there that may be beyond our understanding of why Sony, Warner, or any major music bigwig hasn't knocked on her door.
Philippines has more then a hundred million people Morissette is amazing but looks like people there don't follow or like her so much or maybe it's other thing because more popular artist like Sara Geronimo and Regine Velasquez don' have so much views too.

Regine and Sara are also major bankable movie stars at one point in their careers. They've also been regular hosts of popular variety shows. Morissette has been a semi-regular as an ASAP featured performer. She also appeared semi-regularly in It's Showtime, but ABS-CBN and Star Records never really groomed her in their television programs. Not the same way that they gave Toni Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, or even Sue Ramirez when they were building their careers. Morissette does not have the same fan base as them. Toni and Kim can release a new song tomorrow and their video will instantly gain hundreds of thousand of views on its way to hitting millions in a few months. Maymay and Maris Racal are releasing MVs and they hit 200-500k views in a few days. They are popular among Filipino audience. Morissette is just not in the same league popularity-wise; that's why it's not fair to expect the same number of views on a new Morissette video. Morissette's popularity right now is coming from TH-cam and international fans that's why her EP charted internationally. But these international fans combined with her small Filipino fanbase cannot give her the millions of views some reactors and commenters expect. She still need a major backer to afford her a bigger platform. We as Morissette fans know this, and I believe it'll take international recognition before the Filipino audience will embrace her fully. Remember that Charice hit it big internationally first before the madlang pipol supported her. Charice was just another biritera in Pinas before that. She still needed the backing of David Foster and an Oprah appearance to catapult her to major international recognition.

Wow, that was the best thing I've read in a while, a great analysis. I've always thought Mori's career stagnated being in Abs-cbn's stable of singers and applauded the move of going independent. In my view, Mori's international career has just started. I think she intentionally chose the right time too, during the pandemic. Really great singers doesn't just blow up overnight. Those who do fall just as quick as they rise. The great divas spent years and year struggling to make a breakthrough. Mori will be no different. She will overcome and will get the recognition she deserves. To paraphrase that old adage, you can't put a good artist down.

New sub. I feel your frustration brother, but unfortunately music industry/radio station payola is still alive and well in 2021 in US an to a lesser extent Great Brittan. Western promoters treat their clients like a product, not human beings and will auto-tune, compress, pitch correct a mediocre artist and promote the hell out of them with radio airplay meanwhile slipping radio station program managers a handsome stipend that is siphoned off the artist's royalties. This is why you hear a new Miley Cyrus track played 20 times a day. Independent artists like Morissette have a snowball's chance in hell of being played on a regular basis. This is where you and others like you pick up the torch for her and run with it. Reactors and her fanbase have managed to put her at the top of the Billboard charts with her music sales. She's been granting interviews with many reactors. You should try to have have her live on your channel.
