    I read on a forum on "the rosa parks" pretty messed up but i never forget it. A few years ago I starting. Working on subarus. So far ive replaced a head gasket, swapped an ej20 from a tt legacy- swapped everything to put it in a wrx wagon. Currently doing an ej20x into a baja. Been a fan of Bucky since the early tony hawk days of skating. Btw seen that signed deck at the bbq joint in vegas!

    GFB light weight pully kit would have been a good option when doing the belt. GFB all the things

  • @salspec3381
    @salspec3381 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's a dangerous way to remove the timing belt. You chance banging valves together and bending a stem. Company 23 makes a cam holding tool for the left bank to hold the cams in place. This tool also makes it much easier to install a new belt. Also removing spark plugs first makes things easier.
    It is pretty cool that Iwire has the connectors on hand. Especially the coil connectors. I'll have to remember that.
    Pro Tip: Keep the pin that is used to hold the timing belt tensioner pulley in. It works really well to de-pin the electrical connectors. You just need to file the tip on the pin into a chisel end.

    Allowing the valves to crash back up onto the head is NOT fine. Great way to break a valve.
    You should have had some sort of tool, like the one Company 23 sells, to hold the cam pulleys in place.
