      Navy blue, since I don’t have that particular color in crochet/knit hats.

    Another great knit along tutorial. I will be swapping out size of needles to get a more sculpted look. Smaller needles for the brim and a size bigger for the body of the hat.

    I enjoyed working this hat up tremendously. I got to the end and realized I didn’t have a tapestry needle big enough so I got out my trusty J crochet hook and finished it with that. Picked aG hook to weave in my ends, which was a snap with this chunky yarn. Thanks Ashley. Blessings to you!❤💗🎄🎅🤶

    I am glad you made a video Thank you!
    I cast on and got about 7 rows of cable and it looked too small, it had been but I thought it had to do with the cable.
    The video shows you needles to look a lot bigger than mine. I am using Chiao Goo. I bought the 9 mm circular for this hat so of course I am disappointed, I don’t have a 10 mm.
    Booo!

    Thank you so much for your step by step video! I’m a new knitter and I learn more from watching than reading instructions. Is your knitting English or Continental? I’m a little confused on the difference in the two. I have been watching Continental and when I knit I put the needle through the right to the back; is this correct or have I been doing it wrong?❤❤❤

  • @gabriellebrown3795
    @gabriellebrown3795 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does casting on 50 make it huge? I recently made a super bulky hat and I made it way too big!

    • @AshleyLillisKnits
      @AshleyLillisKnits  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know 50 sounds like a lot for this yarn weight but the cables make it shrink up a lot! 💕🧶

    • @AshleyLillisKnits
      @AshleyLillisKnits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm so sorry -- It would take some time to convert this pattern for a 3-6 month old. You could just try making a mini version using thinner yarn and smaller needles and not continue the length as long. Here's a head circumference chart for reference on how big the hat should be if you wanted to try to adjust the pattern: www.craftyarncouncil.com/standards/head-circumference-chart. Hope that helps!

    • @AshleyLillisKnits
      @AshleyLillisKnits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use 8mm - might be a little tight with thick and quick yarn though, depending on your gauge! You would likely need to cast on more stitches, either in between the cables or add another cable. Happy knitting!
