    Excellent video. I've been having thumb pain in both thumbs and the change in the inflection angle that might be help solve this. Thanks so much for all of the insights and for being so articulate.

      Thanks so much for the comment! Yeah totally, the thumb can take more or less pressure depending on the neck strap for sure.

    Kevin when I saw this I instantly knew to get it but it sells in regular and wide do I don’t know which one to get for me

      Thanks for comment. The one I have is the regular one I believe. It fits more like a traditional neck strap.

    I love the review. The Feather 3 seems to have less contact with the your neck.
    Being a tall, thin woman with a long bony neck and collar bones, i'd like your assessment of which would be best for me. The 3 or the 4.
    I'm using a JazzLab SaxHolder now, and although i do love the fact that it puts no pressure on my neck, my sax swings around too much, especially playing those 'few finger' notes. Alto.
    I'll order from the site you provided. I hope you get a good cut. Thank you Kevin!

      Hey thanks for the comment! Well, the feather strap 3 takes all the weight off the neck as you said, so I would probably recommend that one. Especially that you are coming from the JazzLab SaxHolder. You will get a strap that puts all the weight on the shoulders but gives you less swing like the JazzLab. And just for the record, that specific link is not affiliated, so I will get no cut. Maybe something for the future, but right now just happy to supply the sax community with good info!

    Hello Kevin and thank you for your video!
    I would love to ask you about this strap and tenor/baritone saxophone!
    1) Do you think that one can easily play the tenor/baritone with it?
    2) How does this neck strap compares with the JazzLab SaxHolder or the BG harness?
    Thanks in advance!!! :))

    • @KevinBene
      @KevinBene  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should have no problem playing bari or tenor with it, everything is adjustable so no matter what it should fit. The saxholder neck strap definitely takes more weight off shoulders, it puts the weight more on your stomach area, for me not ideal for breathing. BG harness, never tried. This neckstrap has similar effects as a harness but with a much less bulky design. I suppose a full out harness puts the weight more on shoulders and across the back where as these neckstraps put the weight completely on shoulders.

      @@KevinBene Thank you very much for your answer!
      I would love to test one Marmaduke but i don't know if these are available somewhere in Sweden.
      I am playing tenor with a BG harness and it works really well, but when you started talking about angles...
      Well, i realised that i have been feeling that my right hand is somewhat "trapped" between my stomach area and the saxophone for quite some time now so it would have been awesome to test something new!
      Have a nice day :=)

      @@AlexandroDiogenes ah yes harnesses can put the sax a bit too close to your body in my opinion. But yeah you could contact Tatsuya through his website (link in description) to see if he ships to you. Thanks for the comments!

      @@KevinBene Update: It is so difficult to find this product in EU. I really tried but it did not go well. :(
      Is this product similar to Balam Premium? Have you tried them both? Any thoughts about that?
      And one more question: Do you feel some kind of pressure on your neck using the Feather strap IV? I just saw that Marmaduke has released Feather strap III Gl!
      Your videos are eyeopeners and ROCK! Especially this one:

    Which one would you recommend. Your new one or the feather strap one. I suffer with the weight putting pressure on my neck which reduces playing time and gives yiu neck ache. Thanks very much.

    • @KevinBene
      @KevinBene  ปีที่แล้ว

      So if you are really struggling with neck pain while playing I would definitely recommend the feather strap III(3). It doesn't put any weight on neck. While the feather strap IV does indeed have a neck cradle so it puts a tad bit of weight on neck, but definitely distributed more on the shoulders. Personally I still prefer my feather strap IV because it feels much more stable, much like a traditional strap design, it just feels more comfortable. Hopefully this helps!

    Thanks Kevin. I just got this strap but I find the cord digs into my collar bone. Where does your strap end relative to your collarbone and do you find the cord sits on it? Cheers

    • @KevinBene
      @KevinBene  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes this strap can be tricky with the collarbone. It took me awhile to figure out how to set it up, the cords did sit on my collarbone. What I did was actually bend just the ends, that hit my collarbone, upwards a bit. I needed a tool to do it, it's hard to get enough torque to bend a small amount of the aluminum with just your hand.

      @@KevinBene great thanks. That makes sense. I also found that moving the adjusters to the inside helps btw
