Leave a like if you wanna see more Tom Hanks! plus it would significantly help our channel! love you Guys and R.I.P Wilson );
Didn't you see the volleyball he had in the jeep with him when he delivered the package? Wilson Jr was born. Oh of you think you won't cry with the green mile, you are mistaken. It's the tear jerking-est movie he ever made.
A league of their own, and "Big" are awesome Tom Hanks movies👍👍🔥🔥
React to Beast of No Nation! Really great and hard movie to watch about child soldiers of Africa
@theoctobersreact...the worst, not a bad movie, is The Devinci Code. Only because I read the books.
"Road to Perdition” is the most underrated Tom Hanks movie. Hardly anyone reacted to it,so you should.
"tomorrow we're watchin Green Mile and I better not cry!"... Ummm.... I'm not saying nothin but... I can't WAIT for that reaction
life is like a box of chocolates... green mile is like box of black coffee chocolates 😂
Yeah I was like 😬😬
I heard that comment and started laughing.😊
Right? Oh my sweet summer child….🥺😬🫣
Umm...yeah. Good luck with that! LOL.
I just turned 70. I didn't realize what that would be like. I've learned a lot in this life. Too much to share, but this one thing that is always 100% true - if you're alive to see the sun come up, you have another chance for your life to change. The tides and winds can give you a sail to a new place. You just have to be willing to experience something new.
thanks for that. my mother is 70 now as well! she’s born in 53!
the old "one step at a time" clitchè is true. never give up, hang on for 5 more minutes.
"Why am I crying over a volleyball" -Everyone who's seen this movie, ever
So many classic Tom Hanks films! Splash! (1983), Bachelor Party (1984) The Money Pit (1986) A League of Their Own (1992), the list goes on...
Today is the first day of my retirement. That crossroads at the end is a metaphor for those big steps in life. That really just hit different for me.
Congratulations! Enjoy your retirement! 🎉
@@marybrown6128 Thanks!
May you continue to grow in mind and spirit in your new path! I'm so happy for you
@@Smokie_666 Thank you, I appreciate it.
we wish you the best in your retirement! we hope you enjoy it ! we will be here if you are ever bored!!
Tom Hanks is the only actor that could make me get emotional over a volleyball. I think his worst movie was Joe vs The Volcano.
That came to mind too, but I think The Money Pit was worse.
His most ambiguous movie is "Cloud Atlas." I've never been able to figure out whether I love it or hate it.
No. His worst movie is Mazes & Monsters. His second worst is probably Bachelor Party.
Lady Killers.
Joe vs. The Volcano is definitely a weird one. Cloud Atlas is also a very strange film, but I give both of them props because they're not your normal, run-of-the-mill movies. With Ladykillers being a dark comedy it is *very* hit and miss for people.
To me, Mazes and Monsters is just his absolute worst movie, at no fault of his own.
I fought in Iraq for 4 years and when I finally got out of the military and returned home, the old life that I thought was waiting for me wasn't there anymore. My friends had all started families and moved on. My ex-girlfriends were married. People had changed homes and started new jobs. I fully understand what he was feeling standing at the crossroads, having to start a new life and not really seeing a difference in either direction. As far as Kelly, I've put myself in his shoes and I think after she hugged me and I saw the map and saw how much cared, I would be okay. Even though it's all very confusing and unfair, just knowing that she cared that much would put me at ease. You just want to know that you didn't suffer alone, that you weren't forgotten.
beautifully said!
So well said!
Very well said. Right to the heart of it.
I think this was well and beautifully said and also said very well. And beautifully!
I've always loved that scene with Kelly. The fact that she not only kept the original map, newspaper clippings, etc, but she could also spout off the numbers, places, and calculations off the top of her head just shows where her heart was at. Yes, I'm glad she stayed with her husband and kid, but I'm also glad they showed that she never forgot Chuck.
An interesting fact on this movie - When it was filmed, they had superimposed a voice for Wilson (that help Tom Hanks keep that conversation going. In the cutting room, they removed everything Wilson said to add depth to the movie.
Thank god. That would’ve made it so cheesy.
@@betteryourlife865 I agree, but maybe they never intended to leave that in, just to give Tom Hanks a way to answer as if talking to a real person. Actually I'm sure it was a real person, but play on an audio track they could easily edit out of the film in post.
Probably Tom Hanks's best performance and movie in my opinion, he makes you sympathise with his predicament from beginning to end and the way he makes his friendship with Wilson feel natural is next level.
I'll go with his Oscar performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump as his best. For the first real revelation of his acting ability, I think Big is worth a look. Up to then, most people knew him only from a brief sit-com TV run.
We've all cried over Wilson.
My favorite Hank movie is Apollo 13, based on real events, that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Yes, that is a great one!
Relevant fact: Sushi is defined by the rice, which is why you can have vegetarian sushi. Sashimi is just raw fish.
either way it's delish! thank you for that bc we call everything sushi lol
Whales (including dolphins) are known for guiding the stranded to land or ship.
Btw...Have you seen "Turner And Hootch and BIG?
Those were Tom Hanks's first "hits"
(Especially BIG)
Btw....Forrest Gump, BIG and PHILADELPHIA is probably my "favorite Hanks Movies".
But "Captain Phillips" and "Sully", has a special place in my heart. 🥰
What about Splash? Was that not a hit? I enjoyed it, anyway.
Try "Bachelor Party" for some REAL fish-out-of-water-Hanks, lol. And "The Burbs" and "The Money Pit" were okay...but not necessarily Oscar material.
People that claim there was any suggestion she was being unfaithful to Tom Hanks' character, are laughable.
Love that scene when he looks back at the island. He knows that if that island wasn’t there he would be dead. The island kept him alive and he is thankful.
I saw this in the theater. 6:09 Helen Hunt from this movie was FANTASTIC (won an Oscar) for her role in "As Good As it Gets" with Jack Nicholson in 1996. 12:59 This WAS a great plane crash scene, but "The Society of the Snow" is THE PINNACLE of plane crash scenes, even though, it's snow compared to ocean, but the crash itself was GREAT! The movie itself was also FANTASTIC! So happy to know you're watching "The Green Mile" next. I saw that in the theater too.
R.I.P. Lari White - the lady who gave Tom Hanks directions at the crossroads. 😔
I saw her in concert once. She was a great performer.
Awesome to be here for this reaction! You guys need to check his early comedy work in Turner and Hooch! ❤ great stuff.. The Money pit is also an hilarious one 🎉
Without looking it up and going off memory, Tom Hanks about died while filming this movie. He cut his knees up because he was on them so much and since he was refusing to bathe for the movie, he caught a staph infection that was eating away at his leg. They caught it in time and I think it took him a few weeks to recover from it. I love how the music completely cuts out from the time he is on the island until he gets off.
Everytime I see this movie I'm reminded how grateful I am to know the survival consultants who helped with this movie. And who have taught me and thousands of others. The skills are real.
Tom Hanks is great in A league of their own. The movie "Big" is also one he's great in.👍
Tom Hanks acting ability is incredible, if he can make you cry over a volleyball. 😅
Is his acting enough to give him a pass for being a child trafficking pedophile?
Promising not to cry in a Tom Hanks movie is money lost in a bet, guaranteed. This movie is one of the best T.H. movie's, hands down n only Tom would make people cry for losing a volleyball. Incredible, timeless movie
4+ years is more than enough time for Kelly to have properly mourned his death, move on, get married and have a child. I know because it happened to me (although my spouse wasn't castaway on a south pacific island).
but she moved on a lot quicker, 4 years later she had a whole established life, that took years to build, she moved on quick cause she didn't really love him,
Sounds like you are trying to justify it. Isn't every person different? 🤔
@@TheOctobersReact Not quick in my book. I respectfully disagree.
_Cloud Atlas_ is by far my favorite Hanks film, and also has a stellar cast overall. It's one of my favorite films in general, absolutely brilliant story.
Yup. I love it.
There are so many great Tom Hanks films. I loved The Money Pit in my younger days.
Road to Perdition is a forgotten gem. A very different Tom Hanks. He plays a hitman.
I just love both of you! Your reactions are so sincere. You both really invest, emotionally, in whatever you're watching. Thank you so very much!❤
Thank you so much!!
My favorite Tom Hanks movie is "The Burbs". A brilliant comedy!
WILSON!!!!
I'M SORRY, WILSON 😭
Helen Hunt was also in one of the biggest sitcoms in the 90s called Mad about You (NBC)
Tom Hanks' early movies were great comedies like Money Pit and The Man with One Red Shoe, then later he did more dramatic and emotional roles and he nailed it all! I think his first thing was a TV sitcom Bosom Buddies. I used to watch that show and seeing his career flourish has been incredible
Maybe so, but the only Tom Hanks movie from the 80s that is considered a classic is Big… no other one of his movies from the 80s is cherished as much as that movie. Splash might be the only other one that comes close to Big
You two are very observant and insightful. Great reaction.
The scene with the fire on the beach was the only scene on the island that was actually shot at night. The rest were shot during the day, with a filter placed over the image to make it look like nighttime.
Fave Tom Hanks movie..A league of their own..also stars Geena Davis who is also awesome.. its great cause he plays a slightly different character..
They need to get into Jim Carrey and watch his movies, he’s the “Tom Hanks of comedy”
Favorite Tom Hanks movie is "Splash."
Splash and Big are the only 2 of his 80s movies that are considered classics
JESUS!!! The Green Mile?? Well bring some tissues... can't wait for this reaction.
I live in Lubbock, Texas and just recently took my kids to the crossroads where they filmed the first and final scene. Its about 3 hours north of us and just north of Canadian, Texas.
“He’s like Batman,”
Idk why, but the delivery made me laugh.
Tom Hanks. Most of your viewers have a leg up on you with most of his movies. Get ahead of them and watch “A Man Called Otto” it’s a hidden gem released in 2022. You will not regret it.
“Im never going to look at a volleyball the same” 😂 😂
Y’all gotta watch The Money Pit, also a movie with Tom Hanks.
Research Isaac Kappy, and you'll never look at Tom Hanks the same.
49:12 According to the movie writers, that package contained a full survival kit, wilderness GPS receiver, and a fully-charged and activated satellite phone.
This movie tears me apart a little inside when I watch it... my first gf and I were very much in love, but she was always struggling from 5exual abuse as a child, I spent years patiently waiting for her to trust again and although she loved me she was too scared to commit. After 10 years we decided to separate as I wanted family and she never knew if she was going to get over the trauma. I am happily married with kids and so is she now (20 years later) but I still have that hole in my heart when we parted ways I can't help it. She said she would always love me as I had helped her get over her abuse a lot and rebuild trust. It's really hard to explain. I wouldn't give up what I have now, my current wife and kids, I'd die for them but even now it still upsets me thinking about her. Life is complicated.
Joe vs the volcano, angels and demons, the money pitt... he's had some stinkers
Wilson was my favorite character in this film. He had all the best lines.
Out of all the great movies that Tom has made, "Forrest Gump", is the absolute best. ✌️
I know a lot of people are saying "Joe vs. The Volcano" is Tom Hanks' worst film, but "Bonfire of the Vanities" is such a historic disaster, such a bizarre miscasting, such a box office bomb, that a book was written about it ("The Devil's Candy").
My thoughts on not opening the packages at first is that the moment you open a package, you are admitting to yourself that you don't expect to be rescued for a long, long time, maybe never. If you keep the packages in as good a condition as possible, you are showing faith in the idea that you think you might be rescued any day now. A guy like him is not going to face the possibility of being stuck there until he has no choice.
I honestly think this is my favorite of his movies.
This and Saving Private Ryan
Castaway is one of Tom Hanks best but i still like his earlier comedy stuff like THE BURBS is a comedy thriller type thang very left of field but a lot of fun
"MONEY PIT" another great movie with Tom Hanks.
He was GREAT in Cloud Atlas, too.
lol “he’s doing a little side project in Moscow” 😂
Has he moved on to graping Russian kids now?
This movie guys, the movie that made us cry over a volleyball 🤙🏽❤️
“He don’t make bad movies.”
Joe and the Volcano has entered the chat.
You need to watch "Big" to see Tom Hanks in comedy mode! He's awesome!
On the DVD commentary they said the package he saved contained a Satellite Phone
Some people would say his worst movie was Joe Vs. the volcano, but even that movie has it's own cult following.
You may or may not have noticed, but while he was on the island, there was no musical soundtrack. Nothing but the sounds of wind and sea.
If Toy Story counts, so does Polar Express 😉 but best Tom Hanks movie for me goes back to where it all began....."Splash" (1984) you guys should react to it..think you'll like it a lot.
Can’t wait for The Green Mile, my favorite movie of all time!!
My favorite Tom Hanks movie has always been THIS - Cast Away. It left such a strong impression on me as a kid! But there really are no bad Tom Hanks movies! They're all incredible.
My most favorite movies with Tom Hanks acting .....
Most favorite Comedy = "The Money Pit."
Most favorite Docu-Drama = "Sully."
Most favorite Historical Fiction = "Saving Private Ryan."
Most favorite Fiction = "Forrest Gump."
The Burbs, The Money Pit and A League Of Their Own are my favorite Hanks films
Yes, Money Pit is very funny. But unfortunately it’s not cherished like Splash and Big are, those 2 are the only Tom Hanks movies from the 80s that are considered classics
Yup hank is the boss ,wow wata actor, to not even speak an have ya all emotions, keep ya reactionscoming am for 1 pleasedya missed all these amazingmovies gona enjoy the ride of your emotions on all the future films an shows ,hope ya get to my favourite Bloodsport
yes cocnuts are a batch to open
“FedEx must have something on him.”
Cuz he’s doing his job?
When you’re the boss, you gotta be tough with your employees
Down here in Texas, we have 1,000 pound fishing line ..... It's called steel chain.
Sully is my favorite! Such a good movie! The guy Tom Hanks plays actually went to my high school and came back to do a graduation speech when my cousin graduated. Love that movie!
I agree, she shouldn't have moved on. If you ACTUALLY Love someone, there is no moving on. They just obviously werent meant to be
The film crew got special permission from the indigenous people of that island to film on it !
Tom has a lot of great movies - hard to pick a favorite. But the first one I think of when you say Tom Hanks is Big.
If you want to see when Tom Hanks was just straight comedy, you can watch "Big" but before that, "Bachelor Party" was a wild one.
Splash is the only one of his movies from the 80s that is cherished besides Big
One of the best plane crashes ever filmed. For me Saving Private Ryan is my favourite Tom Hanks.
Iv been blesses with growing up in bumfug nebraska. I hope I can meet Tom b4 I die he's been w me from woody to now
Favorite Tom Hanks movie ‘That Thing You Do’.
"Splash" is an early Tom Hanks movie. You "probably" won't cry, but....
Lmao 😂 Great reaction! You guys are funny! @ 41: 15.. She moved on fast! How old is that baby got me? Got me
Dude that Wilson scene hits
20:10: "The crab right?" LOL
i loved Tom Hanks in Splash
I saw this in the theater when it came out. I like the movie a lot.
So many good Tom Hanks movies. A few of mine is:
Green Mile
Saving Private Ryan
Cast Away
Forrest Gump
The Terminal
Great reaction peeps! I love one of his newer movies... A man called Otto its a fantastic film & older films like seepless in seattle, big & ofcourse Philadelphia enjoy 👌
The Terminal is another Tom Hanks movie where his sort of trapped on an Island like Castaway. It is based on a real life situation.
They need to get into Jim Carrey and watch his movies, he is the “Tom Hanks of comedy” so to speak
My favorite Tom Hanks movie is "Catch Me If You Can," with Leonardo DiCaprio.
"I never new Wilson died like that" No truer words have ever been spoken. RIP Wilson.
Tom Hanks two worst movies were Joe versus the volcano and the man with one red shoe. Great reaction as always.
You guys are slowly winning me over with your reactions. I've seen a few of them and now I am subscribing. Keep up the good work.
The Polar Express is my favorite Tom Hanks movie. My nephew worked with him on the movie. He was the voice of the main character "Hero Boy".
"Joe vs The Volcano", "Big", "Spash", "Perdition", "Bosom Buddies" (TV).
Helen Hunt is (for some of us) from Mad about You. It's a great show. If you want to have some fun dig up the first episode and enjoy.
You should watch Tom hanks in the terminal. It’s not an emotional movie but he does an awesome job acting in this movie. Plays an immigrant and kills it. Another emotional one is a man called Otto
“Damn you Tom Hanks” 😭😭😭
I've seen a lot of reactions to Cast Away. I thoroughly enjoyed yours very much. Robert Zemeckis directed a hell of a movie.
Big is my favorite Hanks movie.
You know, Tom Hanks was 'discovered' from a TV show called Bosom Buddies. Kind of a fluff, slapstick comedy show. So, when he transitioned to movies, he had a lot of roles like that. And PLENTY of them were bad! Don't get me wrong, I was a kid in the 80s and LOVED Bosom Buddies, but you can probably find at least 10 movies at the bottom of the pile! (:
Fun fact about this movie: FedEx did not officially sponsor it or pay to have their brand in the movie. The idea of the movie came from Tom Hanks himself when he was reading an article in a magazine about FedEx planes that take off twice a day from LAX To fly around the world. He said he wondered what would happen if one of the planes ever went down and the movie was born. This interview is on TH-cam. It's short, but also a very good watch.
You guys must watch The Burbs with Tom Hanks, so funny:)
