Favorite part of Deadlock is when someone says he’s bad and he goes on a philosophical rant.

His in game lore is literally just "Jacob Lash is an asshole." So probably intended lol
they're not joking, every other character gets a few paragraphs of lore but lash is just "Jacob lash is an asshole"
other funny backstories include yamato's being entirely in japanese just like all her voicelines
I like how he went to chase Kelvin, Lady Geist pinged Kelvin when he got lost, and he immediately ran away backwards into nothing.
I don't think it's right that Lady Geist was probably trying to ask for his ethnicity in VC, but I get it

Northenlion Deadlock's gameplay made me laugh more than any other streamer I have watched.

Im enjoying this game and really hope it can reach the level that Dota does for me. With Icefrog working on it I have no doubts that it will. But as it stands its lacking a lot. To be fair it is in alpha. But I expect great things. For those that dont know, Icefrog took over Dota in 2005/2006 back when it was still in WC3 and then was employed by Valve for Dota 2. Only a few people at Valve and a few Dota pros even know who he actually is. Hes remained extremely anonymous after all these years. And hes a literal savant at game balance. Dota regularly has like 95% of the heroes picked or banned every international.

I've played Dota for over almost 20 years now so I am definitely biased. But I still to this day learn new things about that game almost daily.
The lack of freedom definitely felt apparent in different ways. The biggest one was not being able to choose your lane. It definitely feels strange to not know if you're going to be solo of duoing before the match starts. Or where you're even going to be. I suppose a symmetrical map over an asymmetrical one leaves this less of an issue now that I think more on it. But it does stand out.
The next biggest thing that stood out is that there is no apparent way to manipulate creep aggro. This is a big thing in Dota and learning to exploit it will make a huge difference in your game.
Along with creep aggro, there seems to be no way to manipulate your wave. In Dota, your can pull them into jungle camps. And depending on how you do this you can either pull back your lane and deny an entire wave from your enemy, with the tradeoff being an easy target at the time. Or you can pull them into a smaller camp only denying a few of the creeps and double stacking your next wave for a hard push.
Now I don't expect Deadlock to be as mechanically complex as Dota. It has no reason to be. Dota's audience is very niche. I don't think it would be wise to target the same audience.
I'm just saying for me it doesn't feel nearly as deep as Dota does, but I don't think anything ever will. But I still do enjoy it. I do really enjoy seeing the inspirations from Dota and seeing how much a broader audience is liking them.
Personally I'm most excited to see what Icefrog does with it. People who don't play Dota will never understand how amazing that guy is. His approach to design, mechanics, and balance is truly best of the best.
@@Ljrobison Really hope they don't do any of the creep manipulation. I find Dota's macro too stressful, I think they should replace that macro skill with mechanical stuff like aiming etc
Art style is good, but as far as watching goes, there's so much on the screen it doesn't look like a4 MOBA at all

Has the best ult in the game, never uses it
is 7s ult even that good? feels pretty good but nothing crazy. Dynamo, bebop, krill, haze, ivy all feel like their ult is better. Sevens 1 and 3 seem to be his strongest stuff and his 2 compliments them well with a pretty good ultimate.

yes, it's like lol (moba game) but a third person shooter. the goal is to destroy the enemy base, to do that you have to kill the structures in the lane. the little bots help you kill the structures and when you kill them you get money to become stronger
