i think the essential version is better especially if you collect individual member pcs but deluxe is good if you’re not much of a collector but it’s hella pricey
I hosntly think they put effort on both. Both bts and TXT will off have different types of albums. I believe that BTS albums have always Beene unique like every other albums. Tho they did put a lot of effort on the BE album it’s like hella pretty. 🤩

I don't really feel the same creativity that goes into the txt albums, they're usually half a book of photos then blank pages with lyrics and thank yous. I understand that Big Hit don't feel the need to since we'll buy the album anyway, but I wish they'd try to make the personality of the album shine a bit more in the packaging - they do it so well with txt so they're definitely capable of doing it with bts too. Plus if they're gonna do separate editions like this at least make them a bit more different since there will be lots of Army buying both and they know that *btw love your username

Taegiseoktrash wow your totally right! If it wasn’t due to covid I’d go to the Us (from 🇨🇦 but super close to the us) because those prices are a steal! At least in Canadian the love yourself albums for me were all 30-40+ (CAD) because of tax and exchange rate! The deluxe ver was $68 at Walmart (I didn’t even know there was a cheaper one) so that’s like 53 us plus we have 13% tax wow only reason I bought it right away was they had a 40% off sale on it so yay! I told my friends and they got it the same day too :)

And in Europe they have to pay a ton of customs fees too so merch is way more expensive, if I move out of Asia it's gonna be expensive to collect kpop T^T

I bought both versions. But I think I prefer the essential version... maybe because of the photocards? They are a pretty closer than the deluxe edition, and I loved that! ^^
I bought both. But I’m a bit salty about the marketing for this. I hate that it’s the same exact music with very similar photos but were announced months apart. I feel bad for the people who were troubled about purchasing the deluxe version thinking it would be limited when a cheaper alternative could have been available. I’m a pc collector though so it didn’t matter for me but it still feels like a scummy tactic.

when they released the deluxe edition i already anticipated that there would be a standard one.. like a lot (including me) pre ordered the deluxe cause everyone tought its limited. but they reprinted it alongside the eseential one. not complaining tho but it wouldve been better if it was released at the same time.
I'm a PC collector and BTS are my ults, so I'll likely get it, but I will admit begrudgingly. I feel like they're similar enough that I'm kinda salty about it. At least in the past, their other versions have been different concept photos. BigHit knows we'll buy anything, I guess. 🙄
I bought both so it literally doesn’t matter. I think it’s weird how expensive the essential version is considering it has the same contents of a standard album, the pc set should not jack up the price to $28 if that’s the case. I’m still trash for buying two copies and was blessed with jin’s card
I live in HK and BTS albums are usually between 100-130 HKD here, and then the essential edition was 150HKD I thought it was expensive but when I stop to think about it you do get way more photocards, most of bts albums only give 1 photocard
Is not the pc set you're literally getting an extra photobook, extra poster, poscard frame + 7 postcards. I don't think the price is reasonable tbh but is dumb to say both albums are practically the same when u get much more content in the deluxe version

same! i was an army for a while and didn’t get my first albums until a few weeks ago. i bought three at target and my friend sold me two. and then she gave me extra photocards. so honestly having army friends are amazing. i also just ordered BE deluxe and it’s coming today or tomorrow LOL
i ordered the deluxe version. Its on its way and my bias is V. I dont know if i will get him or he will play hard to get. Although it will be my first album as I entered ARMY in 2020 December..... So no matter which member i Get! I am thankful to My father to buy it for me. I needed to toil in exams for it.... IT PAYED OFF!

Normally I get all versions for BTS, but I already have the deluxe edition and have felt no urge to get the essential edition. The photoshoots are similar, so I don't think I have a strong desire for the essential edition.
I find it weird that it was released so far after the original release date. I've seen a lot of people say the same thing. That they dont feel the need to get the essential version because they already bought the deluxe version.

i purchased the deluxe edition on the day of release last year and i really love the content you get in it, i did also have a suspicion bighit would release another version. i probably won’t be buying the essential version because there isn’t a lot of differences in the photobooks, i can’t justify spending another £25 just for a selfie pc ahaha. since jimin is my bias, if i ever see his pc going for a fair price i may just buy the pc in its own but with the overpricing of photocards lately, that will be hard

I feel you on the bias hating you, out of 28 albums (missing a few different versions of albums) and the Wembley dvd, the only Jimin cards I've only pulled Jimin three times. The postcard from persona, the be deluxe edition and when I get the essential edition (bought it but my birthday is in two months, so its a birthday present)
I got the deluxe version locally earlier this month and was planning to buy the essential version when it became available at a local store, but I ended up buying a couple other things in the meantime that took most of my then-remaining funds, but I will be buying the essential version as soon as the next EIP stimulus arrives... As for preference, I do like the plain white CD, the photobook and the closer-up cards of the essential version, but I don't like that there's also 1 of 8 additional random cards to get. I'm sure lots of people are going to buy a bunch of copies to try and complete that extra set.
I think the reason why you did not have the qr code card in your copy of the essential edition is because the qr code cards don't work anymore in the U.S.
BigHit really said you are going to BE broke with this album. I pre-ordered the Deluxe version, told myself when the inevitable second version came out I wouldn't get it, and then did anyway. OMG you guys are so lucky in the US that they don't price the albums AS high as in Germany 😭 The Essential edition is 30 Euro which is 40 Dollar And the deluxe edition is 60-70 Euro which is 75-85 Dollar

I have my own rant about the Essential edition (BH is reaalllyyyy getting on my nerves), but I have to say I LOVE the sleeve for the Essential. I definitely like the box packaging better in the Deluxe, but I was surprised to see that the Essential sleeve was nice and sturdy(while the LY series is flimsy and fragile 🥲)
Definitely agree that Essential Edition wasn't as easily accessible-- I preordered mine from Barnes and Noble but from what I hear, like, no places had it in store. But I think I prefer the Essential edition anyways! :D and I did manage to easily take the stickers off and replace them on the album without any problems (thankfully I would've cried if I ripped a sticker😭lol)

I pre-ordered the Deluxe version on Weverse right before they took away preorder gifts for U.S.. I love looking at it ; it's almost like a little diary from BTS. After watching this video I think I'll pass on the Essential version.

Thank you for the comparison video! I was debating whether to sell the essential album since it was just so similar to the deluxe version which I also own. I guess at the end of the day if you like seeing all the photoshoot photos then keeping both would be okay so I guess I will keep it. But I do agree with alot of the comments where I wish they would've added some different element besides the stickers which were technically not even part of the album jacket itself 🤣

It depends where you live, for me the deluxe was around 30 and the essential around 19 usd (though that's more expensive than all their other albums)

I recieved my Essential version today (yes it took 2 months..) and I pulled Jin !!! (he is my bias😭) I have 3 BTS' albums and I pulled Jin two times in a row, I'm blessed 💖
“Jin hates me” girllll I think he loves me because I pulled him in 3 albums LMAOOO and jimin on the other 2 albums. The rest of the group lowkey hates me 😂

OMG you guys are so lucky in the US that they don't price the albums AS high as in Germany 😭
The Essential edition is 30 Euro which is 40 Dollar
And the deluxe edition is 60-70 Euro which is 75-85 Dollar
Haha I feel like it's kinda a curse to almost never pull your bias in a group! I pulled Jiminie (super cute card) but my biases are Tae, Yoongi, Hoseok, but I literally NEVER pull Taehyung
Also as a collector I have to get all album versions >.> but I do appreciate it that the photobooks are different. I remember one of your Monsta X unboxings where the cover was different but the inside the exact same I dislike that tactic.
I have my own rant about the Essential edition (BH is reaalllyyyy getting on my nerves), but I have to say I LOVE the sleeve for the Essential. I definitely like the box packaging better in the Deluxe, but I was surprised to see that the Essential sleeve was nice and sturdy(while the LY series is flimsy and fragile 🥲)
Definitely agree that Essential Edition wasn't as easily accessible-- I preordered mine from Barnes and Noble but from what I hear, like, no places had it in store. But I think I prefer the Essential edition anyways! :D and I did manage to easily take the stickers off and replace them on the album without any problems (thankfully I would've cried if I ripped a sticker😭lol)
I really like the content of the essential edition but I prefer the packaging of the deluxe one so I bought both 😭🤡
i personally bought both but being that the deluxe is pretty expensive i would recommend people to buy the essential edition 😭 i do prefer the deluxe tho

I bought the Deluxe, and I wasn’t going to get the Essential but then my friend bought it for me and , yknow, I’m not saying no to a free album that adds to my collection (plus I pulled JK🥰)
I did like that Essential comes with a random PC and the couch photos were zoomed in. But if I had to pick, I’d go with Deluxe because I prefer the packaging (It looks SO nice on a shelf) and I liked getting 2 posters

For some reason with BTS albums I always get so anxious Bc they always have like different kinds of albums each time. Like they released the same album months apart but with different posters. Like it’s confusing sometimes 😭
I pre-ordered the Deluxe version on Weverse right before they took away preorder gifts for U.S.. I love looking at it ; it's almost like a little diary from BTS. After watching this video I think I'll pass on the Essential version.
That essential version is already scaring me with how soft the outer case looks. Those little dents 😬

It’s actually sturdier compared to the LY series! Mine also got dented in shipping but maybe if you get it in store, you can find one less damages

Thank you for the comparison video! I was debating whether to sell the essential album since it was just so similar to the deluxe version which I also own. I guess at the end of the day if you like seeing all the photoshoot photos then keeping both would be okay so I guess I will keep it. But I do agree with alot of the comments where I wish they would've added some different element besides the stickers which were technically not even part of the album jacket itself 🤣

Jin is my bias as well and I VERY rarely ever pull him. Probably at least 85% of the time I pull Jimin, with Hobi and Namjoon after that.
