    Really enjoyed that Jamie. For a x-country biker like me it's good to see how you guys pick your lines at those trail centres. Very entertaining.

      Thanks mate. I'm not that experienced with line choice but it was good to stop and just think through the possibilities. I bet some of the ultra fast people can think of lines we couldn't even see 😆🤯

      @@streetpigeonmtb Generally speaking I see ALL of the lines but more often than not take the wrong one...🥸

    I've booked a holiday for a week in ballater it's great to see here because it's on my to-do list. I really want to do heartbreak ridge and other trails in the area. Nice edit and vid mate 👊🍻

    I rode up there on the old track & new track in the summer. Cool spot, so many rocks n slabs great vid fella

      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bud. I found the rock and slab really intimidating. Hard to get confident on it when it's not what you are used to! 😁

    Spending a bit of time sessioning sections and practicing lines is a great way to improve the skills and great fun. Great vid Jamie.

      Thanks mate. I definitely think skills work is the thing to focus on as we get older. The power will fade but if we can hold more speed/momentum on the trails, none of that matters 😁

    Nice video! Need to get back up there, not been since just before my boy was born (life got in the way of biking for the last couple of years). It's cool seeing the mental aspect of new features in this edit - that last jump looks so simple on cam but standing next to it definitely makes you think the first couple of times!
    First went up there 10 years ago on a Halfords hardtail so never thought too much about lines - literally thought that was a standard bike trail back then🤣 Starting off on rocky rooty steep stuff like this did help me get better as I got into mountain biking though!

    • @streetpigeonmtb
      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure you'll get back into it. My kids are a bit older now which has made things much easier. I remember the early days, it was tough to do anything! Jumps are definitely a mental game for me. I can actually ride them fine. I just need to get over the first launch!

    • @streetpigeonmtb
      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate! It's all relative and I reckon the average bracket is far and wide. Watching the EWS at the weekend made me feel a good bit down from average! Thanks for taking time to comment mate 👍

      Yeah that's exactly what I think when I watch Jamie's videos and he mentions the words "an average rider like me" he he!!!

    • @streetpigeonmtb
      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry folks! It's always hard to judge, especially where I live. I regularly get shown how to ride by 12 year old who can whip and all sorts. Makes me feel average!

    Epic mate! Such a good idea sessioning that trail - it scares the bejesus out of me so tend to avoid it since I broke my wrist on it. Definitely a good idea to break it into sections and practice them a few times individually. Brilliant riding from the crew at the end of a punishing few days though!

    • @streetpigeonmtb
      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man. It defo makes sense to break down gnarly trails like that - I don't do it enough! Hard for you when you've injured yourself on that trail also! Cheers man.

    Really nice variation again on the usual format. Actually I'm going to try and persuade the wife that we should do this occasionally - pick a trail with tricky features and do them again and again until we nail them. Pitfichie DH trails are great for progression though - there's usually multiple lines if ye don't fancy a particular feature. These trails are also a good test of yer brakes. Tried out my new XTs here and they definitely got pass marks (the Guide R's just weren't cutting it any more!)

    • @streetpigeonmtb
      @streetpigeonmtb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's a good thing to do. I've started sessioning stuff about once per week and I'm really enjoying it. Couldn't agree more with the XT brakes. I love em 👍
