"Matasaburo of the Wind" was the name of a tale written by Kenji Miyazawa. And this episode is heavily based on it, depicting a mysterious boy who is actually a Spirit of the Winds. There would be episodes like this afterwards in Ultraman 80, in which a mysterious boy would come to school, but with the difference he himself was the monster. And would go back in peace to where he came from after having a match with the Hero.
That was interesting. Don's omninous and somewhat creepy maneirisms reminded me a lot of Kirisaki on Taiga. I wonder if this episode was the inspiration for such characterization. And come to think of it, maybe Hiroyuki was a homage to Kenichi of sorts? His attempts at being friends with Don does remind me of how Hiroyuki dealt with Kirisaki.
