Ugh, you're making me want to try out Spektrum and that's a sentence I thought I'd never say. Really well done vid and this model just snaps heads wherever it goes.
Jon: Personally, im ecstatic i discovered YOUR channel! Ive always picked up on stuff faster than anyone. Got into planes December 2019. Within a month, i stopped using safe. Used RF9 a month before i began flying, then let my buddies use it. (It was useless to me). IF i gain 10% of YOUR knowledge, ill be happy! 👍
As a geek myself, I appreciate geeks! Great video and thanks for taking the time to put it together! Will you utilize the spoilers on final approach or after touchdown?
Glad to hear it! After touchdown - spoilers before then would cause a huge sink rate that would need a ton of throttle to overcome. It's just for positive wheel contact to get the jet to slow down with the ball bearing wheels it's using.
Hey Jon great job with this video! I must tell you that I have the same plane, the same RX & the iX12. When you are experiencing oscillation at any speed, the gains are too high. Spektrum's John Adams has a great series on forward programing on utube. How did you disable the flaps & ailerons when the wings are swept back? My setup closely matches the rc geek's setup with the exception my ailerons move up and down w/wings forward. I also have full span flaps ans the ailerons are setup on a switch as spoilers...
You can open the transmitter file on your IX12 and see how I disabled it. It'll be easier to inspect the setup than it would be to explain in a comment. The video should cover it as well.
@@timothygiggey1610 I did. The video should mention the stabilization mixing I'm using. :) SAFE is set up but only at a very basic level because I enable it only in cases of lost orientation.
I am losing it with the programming….. can’t seem to make anything work with ix14 and AR10100t no idea how to stop ailerons or flaps with swept wings. Lots of great discussions but I need my hand held with step by step instructions
Hey Jon! Did yours come with reverse thrust? I just got mine and it has the option to activate reverse through a channel. I'm not sure if spoilers would be necessary, my 8S Typhoon doesn't brake much even with full reverse thrust.
@@TwoBrosRC I should set the spoilers on the same channel as reverse thrust. I can't wait to maiden on Sunday! That plane scares me a bit to be honest with all the functions. I also added the ESS Air jet sound system 😁
Good morning, great video!!! We are currently programming my ix20 se to the freewing f14, with the identical reciever, we have been having problems with the mixes, my builder spoke to Chris Wolfe over the weekend and we are still having problems. My builder will be watching this video this afternoon, and hopefully figuring everything out once and for all!!! In the event we still Have problems, can we reach out to you for your assistance? Please let me know if you'd be willing to help. Thanks Robert
Hi Robert! I can help, but only to an extent. My setup file should have everything you need to get started. Be sure to directly connect each component to the receiver instead of using the programming box that the jet comes with - mine only has the gear and swept wing controls attached to the box. The rest go directly into the 10ch receiver.
Great video on the setup! I’ve been flying my Tomcat using RCgeek’s setup. As a matter of fact I put a few flights on this big girl yesterday. On another note, what are you using to hang the planes on the wall? Looks like a good way to go. Thanks Bill.
Elevon are only attached on a wing if its full flying stabs outputting roll its either differential stabs or tailerons, stabilators are full moving stab in pitch only...
A bicycle rack from Lowes. These days we use a wall mounted adjustable rack system with foam padding over each rack to protect the airframes from damage.
@@TwoBrosRC Sorry. You were recording the plane. You had the radio in your hand. I believe you said you were recording the radio and would later do a picture in picture that would show the plane and to the side you would have an inlay of the radio so viewers could see what the settings were and how that correlation was made to the control surfaces.

I'm happy to share as much info as anyone is willing to listen to. Thanks for being there bud!
I love this content! Saving this for when I get my jet.
That stabilizer saved you on landing!
It did help for sure!
Bruh, you are the Doc Brown of RC aircraft. I'm just now figuring out all the options on my dx6 with my og timber.
Haha, thanks! Join us on Discord and we'd be happy to help. bit.ly/TBRCDiscord

@@TwoBrosRC What are your channel assignments? Are the rudders and flaps on y-connectors?
Channel assignments should be in the video. Flaps and rudders are tied together.
@@TwoBrosRC Hi could´t find the channels assignment in video or transmitter file, do you remember them? Thanks, Lars

We're using Lowe's bicycle racks for wall mounting.

How did you program the radio to retract the flaps prior to allowing the wing to swing aft?

PiP? Refresh my memory, it's been nearly a year since I uploaded this.
