Breakout wasn't an official gamemode added to diep in 2016, it was a revival of an old reddit post idea called "Land Grab." Wish the game still got regular updates but this is a fun mode to play for now. I tried to post the link to the reddit post but TH-cam deletes comments with external URLs. You can easily find the post by going to the diep subreddit and filter searching top posts of all time.

It was a gamemode idea on Reddit back in 2016 (one of the top posts or r/diepio) and it was only added just recently.

"the forgotten gamemode" sure holds true, I have yet to see any sign of it in the past
