I've been using the AirSense 11 for almost a month now (1st time CPAP user) and TBH, I never use the built-in screen since I'm using auto settings configured by my doctor. If I did need to override any settings, I'd much rather use a mobile app on a bigger screen to do this. Also, IMH, using a cellular modem to transmit data is a huge design flaw which just adds bloat to the overall cost and maintenance of the machine. It should just use Bluetooth or standard WiFi instead. I've not used any of the detailed data provided via SD card yet either. But if I did want to use it, again, I'd prefer if it were made available via standard Bluetooth or WiFi and autosyncing to an app like SleepHQ so that I don't have to keep shuttling data back and forth via a physical SD card.

Lol, I see that Resmed is taking a page out of Apple's playbook with the proprietary connectors, dongle hell and even basic accessories sold separately. Think they can get away with this for very long? Is the market (i.e. us!) that captive?

Mate, you are a Godsend for cpap users! I’ve learned so much since I’ve been watching you. I use a Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite battery with my Air-mini when we go camping. Using that converter, I can charge the battery in the car while travelling. The Medistrom will power my Airsense 10 Auto set overnight but I barely get 6 hours due to the heated hose. I have an unheated hose from my old Airsense 10 Elite so will try that to see what battery time I get.I do find the Air Mini noisy as that exhalation point with the Humidix cartridge is close to my head. But over all, very handy dandy when we aren’t near 240v power. Eg caravan park. Thanks for all your tips and tricks! 😊

Been using mine for travel for several years. Love the attachments for securing it under a matress or on a drawer of a night table. Very handy & I can fit everything in that bag that's provided. It definitely is noisier and I experience a dry mouth most nights. I do use the HumidX plus. You get used to the noise and I still think it is worth using.

I got mine last month after watching your videos. I travel about 60 days throughout the year. It’s a pain traveling with the AirSense 11, packing, finding h2o, drying and packing. I’ve honest accidentally left it at TSA once. The Air Mini changes all that. I’m on my 7th night with the AirMini it makes travel with sleep apnea so much better. I wish the data went to my AirSense 11 ResMed account.

Last Year I used my air mini for about 6 months until my air sense 11 came. I had a Phillips machine. One thing about the machine is it is miserly on power consumption. . With my small battery I can use it for days. I like camping and live in a hurricane zone where you lose power. This would get me through for a day or two until I got my generator going or power is restored. Which is why I bought it. My air sense 11 is not bad on power either if you turn off everything but the fan. I found a cable for my air sense 11 on Amazon for my battery. I have used the air mini for travel and the small foot print was worth it to me.

I have been using an AirMini for travel for about 4 years. I hacked the hose way back when I got it to use my Bleep with it and that had the unexpected (and serendipitous!) side effect of significantly reducing the noise level. I use a soft-sided lunch box as a carry case (holds AirMini, hose, power supply, mask, power adapter, and silicone eye mask)...very small and fits in either my backpack or large purse, whichever I happen to be traveling with!

I've been looking at the Air mini for a couple of months and this review pushed me over the edge, so have received and been using the unit for the last few days. I ordered the air mini with the F20 mask and included an upsell pack that I thought included the resmed bag and a few extra humidifiers. Received what I ordered plus the mount system and the hard shell for the unit. I generally use a Resmed S9, so I am comparing to that.
    1. You really need the mount system. The Unit is small and moves around easily. As I plan to use it travelling securing it in different environments is a must.
    2. The exhale port that you use with the F20 and air mini hose is rather loud. Darth Vader loud. Using the standard F20 connector for a standard hose is significantly quieter. Unless the one I have is faulty, it looks the hose adapter so any mask can used, so you can use the standard adapter is the way will be a valuable addition.

I was new to all this about 2 years ago and apart from the trial period with an air sense 10 I've only ever used the mini with the p10 pillow. I live in the Albury Wodonga area so the weather is quite variable from cold and wet in winter to hot and dry in summer i find that initially I had to use the humid x filters in summer only because it would get too wet in cold air and drip condensate back up my nose, not a good feeling. I have mounted mine to my side table at the height below that of my mattress so a lot of the sound is absorbed. As wifey also uses c pap she is used to the sounds of the mask and it doesn't bother either of us. It's a little restrictive for snuggles but that's a small price to pay for a cure to the snoring and apnea several times an hour.

I have an airsense 10 and I do biketouring so its hard to take the home unit with me. I'm considering getting the airmini due to the small size for my long tours. I have a 72 Ah battery that I can get 4-5 days use on the airsense 10 w/o humidifier or heated tube. My question is can the airmini replace the airsense 10 for home use...I dont see a reason to have both units due to the costs.

Thank you for these videos. I think I need some help, please. I received the Mini from Sleeplay via the SleepHQ discount. I also purchased an adapter that connects to the mini so I can use my Resmed F30i. Problem is, there is a hurricane of air noise on the top of my head where the mask and hose connect. It makes the Mini unusable due to noise. I own Resmed 10 and 11 (neither of which have the hurricane effect) and wrote to ResMed for remedy. They told me that ResMed does not support the ResMed F30i mask when connected to the ResMed Mini. No kidding. And Sleeplay said I could not return a used machine and recommended a muffler instead (that won't work). Would connecting the Mini hose to an adapter at the mask help? I don't what to buy the Mini hose (or any other Mini-specific gear) if it still fails to address the noise problem. Any suggestions appreciated and thank you in advance.

My problem is that the air sound from the exhalation port below the hme filter is loud when there's no other noise. I can't sleep with it. Trying to find a way to seal the exhalation port. Or just use it without one. I know they make sealed aftermarket hme filters but I don't know how to attach my regular P10 to it.

Two devices are quite silents, but the airmini sounds from his tube higger than AS10, Could I do something to reduce it? Thanks in advance!!!

You must be getting kickbacks from Resmed.
    I paid $35 a week for the airsense 10.

I went for the F&P with Bluetooth and 4G for less.

Nicko, I have a very specific question: I don't choose to use the moisture filter on my Air Mini (it seems unhygienic to me) but without the filter the exhalation vent is very noisy, to the point where I can't sleep. Someone suggested just wrapping it in plastic food wrap and it works like a charm but now the exhalation vent has been covered. Does this mean I'm breathing my own CO2? Is the plastic wrap a reasonable hack or am I putting myself or the machine at risk? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I find the AirMini pressure too high despite being set exactly the same as my AirSense 10? I bought it for travel but it seems to be totally different. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

G'day, i hear this comment a lot. It's not so much the pressure but more how the air is delivered. I think being a smaller turbine the air is delivered at a faster speed. The Tubing might also make a difference. I know when i'm using my Z2 i prefer to use 22mm tubing so the air doesn't feel so fast/forced. Cheers

  • @OneIdeaTooMany

I have one for travel and I find it makes my mask really noisy. The machine itself is relatively quiet but breathing noise near the mask is louder when compared to my Airsense 10. I use the F20 mask but I also have the F&P Evora. I converted from the standard air mini tubing to standard 19mm tubing and the proper elbow for the F20 mask and it only cut down the mask noise a little. Can you comment on why breathing through the F20 is louder on the air mini vs the Airsense 10? What's so different about the two or is it just the lack of sound abatement foam? And do you know of any air mini noise hacks?

@@CPAPReviews wouldn't a CPAP at a specific pressure have to deliver air at the same velocity? That is, once the air enters the tube how is it different.

Had my mini for a week and the noise seems to be coming from the exhale port on the smaller hose to mask connector(Mines a F20) Using the standard connector (with a S9) the noise is not an issue. I plan to buy the hose adapter so I can use the standard Exhale port and hoping this will be much quieter.

I don’t bother with the humid air capsules. They add noise and not much else imo. They also are heavy and bulky in just the wrong place a few inches from one’s face. I use masks designed for the bigger machines with the simple hack of a few cm of tubing and a rubber band, but I’ll now investigate the adapters you mention. As for accessing the clinical menu you didn’t mention that you aren’t supposed to. But then again, who takes any notice of that? It is really annoying that you have to go cap in hand to Resmed to access long term data in a usable format - you can only see 30 days worth via the app, and it’s a pain trying to compare data from one day to the next. And of course you can’t see the really useful data that’s in the app you designed.
