Male and Fem are the children of a rather poor family on Mount Liyue and live in a small village, every day Male often goes to cut firewood to sell, one day Male went to cut firewood and sell it to the end. It was late at night. As he was returning, a man called him back and let him sleep over.
The next morning, when he ran home, he found that the house had become covered in blood, along with the bodies of his family, but he couldn't find Fem's body, maybe she had escaped.
After burying his parents, he immediately ran to find Fem by wandering around, then he went to Sumeru and met Aether with Nahida, he decided to go with Aether when he knew him also looking for a sister like him.
He, along with Aether and Nahida, defeated Scaramouche, then became friends.

°Fem Y/N's past (as Shinobu).°
While Male was away, Fem sneaked out to pick fruit deep in the mountains. Then Fem came home and saw her family being murdered by a strange creature (Demon). Fem tried to get close to save them but Her sister, while being strangled by the creature, tried to tell Fem to run away.
Fem ran away in fear and cried bitterly, but then she tripped on the mountain and hit her head on a large rock and lost consciousness. When fem regained consciousness, she had lost her memory.
Fem was adopted by the Kochou family at 11 age, they lived far away in Liyue, fem loved them very much and also loved Kanae, her adopted sister, but fem's family was once again murdered, leaving only fem and Kanae.
As she grew older, she learned that the creatures that murdered her family were demons. She was taught how to use breath by Kanae. At that time, the demon slaying association was not known to many people because the demons were very well hidden.
Fem did not want to join the demon slaying group because she always thought she was weak, but fem once again lost her adopted sister, who died at the hands of upper moon 2, whom she had to take revenge on.
To get more information, she joined Fatui and successfully became close to the 11th harbinger - Tartaglia.
She got to know Zhongli through Childe and the three were quite close, she didn't know they were secretly liking her.

Male và Fem là con của gia đình khá nghèo trên núi Liyue và sống ở một ngôi làng ít người, hằng ngày Male thường đi đốn củi để mang đi bán, trong một ngày nọ, Male đã đi đốn củi và đem đi bán đến tận khuya mới về, cậu đang về thì được một người đàn ông gọi lại và cho cậu ngủ nhờ.
Sáng hôm sau, khi cậu chạy về nhà thì phát hiện căn nhà đã trở tràn ngập máu me, cùng với xác của gia đình cậu, nhưng cậu lại không hề thấy được xác của Fem, có lẽ cô ấy đã trốn thoát rồi.
Cậu sau khi chôn cất cho cha mẹ mình thì đã ngay lập tức chạy đi tìm Fem bằng cách lang thang khắp nơi, sau đó cậu đã đi đến Sumeru và gặp được Aether cùng với Nahida, cậu quyết định đi cùng Aether khi biết anh ấy cũng đi tìm em gái giống cậu.
Cậu cùng với Aether và Nahida đánh bại được Scaramouche, sau đó cùng nhau kết thân.

°Quá khứ của Fem Y/N ( as Shinobu ).°
Trong khi Male đi vắng, Fem đã lén trốn ra ngoài để hái hoa quả sâu trong núi, sau đó Fem về nhà và thấy cảnh gia đình bị một sinh vật kì lạ ( Demon ) sát hại, fem cố gắng lại gần cứu họ nhưng em gái của cô ấy trong lúc đang bị sinh vật đó bóp cổ đã cố gắng bảo Fem chạy đi.
Fem sợ hãi bỏ chạy và khóc lóc thảm thiết, nhưng khi đó fem đã bị sẩy chân trên núi và đập đầu vào một tảng đá lớn và bất tỉnh, khi fem tỉnh lại thì cô đã bị mất trí nhớ.
Fem được gia đình Kochou nhận nuôi ở tuổi 11, họ sống ở một nơi xa trong Liyue, fem yêu quý họ rất nhiều và cũng yêu quý Kanae, chị nuôi của mình, nhưng gia đình fem lại một lần nữa bị sát hại, chỉ còn mình fem và Kanae.
Khi dần lớn, fem biết được những sinh vật đã sát hại gia đình mình là quỷ, fem được Kanae chỉ dạy cách sử dụng hơi thở, khi đó sát quỷ hội không được nhiều người biết đến do những con quỷ ẩn nấp rất kĩ.
Fem không muốn gia nhập sát quỷ đoàn do cô luôn nghĩ mình yếu, nhưng fem một lần nữa đánh mất chị gái nuôi của mình, chị gái đã chết trong tay của upper moon 2, người mà cô bắt buộc phải báo thù.
Để lấy thêm thông tin, cô đã gia nhập Fatui và thành công trở thành người thân cận của Quan chấp hành thứ 11 - Tartaglia.
Cô đã làm quen được với Zhongli và cả ba khá thân thiết, cô không biết họ đang thích thầm cô.
