- My 1950's era Belmont originally purchased for $270 3 months ago. About 10 pieces were rechromed and the chair was reupholstered with fresh padding and 2-tone vinyl. I also bought a brand new headrest for it. Milan from "South Bend Barber Supply" in South Bend, Indiana did all the work. I found one this week very much like yours and I bought it immediately. It was owned by the original owner he pass 3 years ago. His son put for sale and I got it. It is so great condition that I am only getting the headrest coconut hast termite food taken out and redone. I have to put some elbow grease and it will look 90 percent beautiful.
Congrats man that's awesome. With care it will surely last another 50 yrs. and guess how much they will be worth when we are old!!!

I bought my headrest from Laville Barber supply South Bend, IN (574)288-7852 It was a brand new non-tilt model $120. You can also search "belmont headrest" on ebay and get the tilting model from a barber supply in Cleveland, OH called Lisko for about $220
I know that, my other desk was never messy it just looked old so ppl seemed to confuse old for dirt... but anyway thx for the comment and the view peace!!!

man if you didn't see that number in the video or the description lol. My guy who did the chair!... This is all he does, he has tons of chairs, he buys them in bad shape and makes them usable or in my case brings them back to new condition. But, I bought mine off craigslist, so try that or give my guy a call I don't where you from though he's in Indiana

Man I love your video and your chair looks bloody amassing. I have the Identical chair in not so good a shape! I've just begun restoring it but ran into my first problem. The brake that stops it from swiveling does not work. Do you know of anyone or how to obtain a parts list or schematics on the hydraulics to this chair? Thank you Sir!

hey my friend I just picked up a late forties or early 50,s Belmont chair. The yellow ish base in the bottom of your chair looks like new, how did you get it looking so good? my chair is in good shape and works, also has the headrest,,,would you believe an old couple just gave it to me to make space in the garage,,it needs chroming and new leather, can you give me some refinishing tips...your chairs awesome,,,been barber 31 years

I spent $270 on the chair
$400 on the chrome (9 pieces the restorer say he lost money on that)
$250 for the upholstery
Another $200 for something I can't read his handwriting on the receipt prob labor? Can't remember. So he ended up with $850
And I spent $120 for the new Belmont headrest.
For a grand total of $1240 bucks. And the chair is prob worth 2x that now and it will last another 50-60 yrs
where do you put the hydraulic oil in a koken barber chair
Hey Wewz my name is Henry and im restoring the same chair you have and Ive got a question for you. Do you happen to know the size of the large O-ring used at the bottom of the stem I guess that what its called. The large part that the bottom of the seat is bolted to that goes up and down. Also what did you spend on the parts you got rechromed?
I think i spent $450 on chrome. Any other question can be directed to the restorer his number is in the description. It left tired and came back inspired. I never put my hands on it he did all the work
