Great info - and the kitty in the tree is bonus cuteness!

Another awesome video Laura! I just had 3 yards of compost delivered and put it around all my fruit trees and berry bushes. Followed up with a fish fertilizer (wow that stuff smells). Time for a good watering in and then I’m calling it a night!

Wow. This was wonderful information. Thank you! I just bought three apple trees bare root and am hoping they are successful for me.

I had not eaten apples (tasteless and woody mush) from stores for some 20+ years but I am eating them now after adding several low chill varieties to my California landscape. In the last few years, I fell in love with Everette Crabapples. I bought one dwarf. I wanted to make pectin for our family jelly/jam. But I behan testing the taste when out with my dogs several tomes a day. Of course, my dogs wanted to taste them. So, then we had to eat one each - 2 of my dogs live them. I began tasting them the first season here. At 3 fruits per day, we were able to have treats every day for months. But of course, 3 per day, 1 for myself and 2 dogs, is not enough. So, I recently orderer 2 more dwarfs Everette trees. They are small, less than 5 feet yey so prolific. Best of all, no family members like them but me and 2 of our dogs. So, I get to eat as much as I want. Of course, I can't do that in front of the dogs. My dwarves will be mailed out in March.

for anyone, like me, who lives on the east coast... *important* is to know that sadly? no columnar apples (yet) are resistant to cedar apple rust. i look forward to the eventual development of one.
    however
you can grow a regular apple as a column, its a type of espalier!

How about distance between apple trees
I want to plant densely but don't want them competing too much
I have 4 dwarf apple trees from you
Sunrise, spartan, liberty, and beni shogun
I was thinking of planting about 10 feet apart

12 foot centers are better, but that should be fine for you. :)

raintreenursery.com/pages/growing-fruit-trees-apple - Look at the Apple Pollinator Chart, that is the bloom schedule.
